Beautiful location with a lovely pub next door and with easy access to parking and the beach.

The breakfast was superb and we enjoyed the restaurant meals. The location was wonderful, easy to walk from the front door. The staff were friendly and helpful. The residents' kitchen is a lovely touch, with fresh milk fruit and biscuits available, and a fridge for your own food. The open fire was cosy, as it was very cold while we were there.
The stairs to the top floor were steep and the view was of the nighbouring building, with a sliver of the garden visible.

On route back to Manchester from Cornwall . Bear walks.
Comfort of bed was poor. Paid top $ expecting comfortable bed ... saggy mattress ... no excuse for$400 AU .
Breakfast was generally good but no fresh fruit and "homemade " muesli tasted like packet muesli .

Breakfast was OK. Service good. The evening meal was excellent and, thewine lovely.
The restaurant dining tables, and lighting looked a little drab.Couldhave been more softer. Perhaps a couple of standard lamps etc. Maybe the tables more rounded?

The food was good but errors were made in our orders.
The room was described as a "Small Classic" so we were not expecting large accommodation, but there was not even a wardrobe, just a few coathangers on hooks on the wall. There were bedside cabinets with drawers, but the drawers were very shallow. The ensuite shower room provided no space for toiletries. There was just a small windowsill - the only other place to put anything was the floor. There was space on a wall for some shelving to accommodate toiletries.

Staff friendly and helpful but information not current
Location excellent
Rooms clean and welcoming
Atmosphere and ambience relaxing
Would return
Parking good
Breakfast was good but not consistent in the presentation, cooking and service over the 4 breakfasts we had. Not as good quality as in other places . Sometimes dried up or overcooked.
Some staff too relaxed in their approach to questions or concerns raised eg blasé.
All rooms had pets in them at some point. It would be good to have some pet free rooms unless I am mistaken and ours was the only one available on the date . Felt itchy .

The location is superb, and food that we had at the hotel, including breakfast was very good. The ground floor areas inside the hotel were comfortable, and there is plenty of outside seating.
A great portable air conditioner in the room, which was appreciated as the weather was very warm.
Staff, although friendly, seemed to be under trained, and generally the hotel looked to be short of staff. On finishing our main course of our evening meal, we were ignored for quite a while, and although a couple of staff members were laying up tables for breakfast, our plates were not taken away, and we were not asked if we would like dessert until after we got up to leave.
We went into the bar/lounge area, where we were chatting with other residents, and we all decided to have coffee and drinks ( around 10pm), only to be told the bar was closed and the coffee machine had been turned off. After a chat with the young lady behind the bar, she did serve us to drinks, but no coffee. 15 minutes or so later, she came over to tell us that we could now have coffee as the machine had been turned back on !!
Our room was on the top floor, and the final flights of stairs were quite steep and narrow, so for aged people like ourselves, it was a bit of a climb, especially with suitcases

Breakfast was really good. The location is great for view and walking.
Room was a bit cramped

Beautifully decorated. Very welcoming. All staff were friendly, welcoming, and informative. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were always on hand to answer any questions. Food was exceptional.
Perhaps the room was a little on the smaller side, but it wasn’t a problem and didn’t not spoil the stay.

Good food and location
Room 17 has the kitchen extraction unit, which is on 8am to 8pm. Service at breakfast on Sunday for most guests seemed to be a total disaster

Greatly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Porlock Weir Hotel and had lovely sea view rooms.
We used it as a base to do the first two sections of the SW Coastal Path:
On day one we took the local bus to Minehead (bus stop opposite Ship pub next door to hotel) to walk back to the hotel along the SW Coastal Path.
On day two we walked from the hotel towards Lynmouth on the SW Coastal path and caught the EX1 bus service back to Porlock. We left a car in the Porlock Community Centre car park (which you can park all day and give a discretionary donation) to get us back to the hotel as it is a 1.8 mile walk along the road.
Breakfasts at the hotel were excellent and we enjoyed eating in the restaurant on one night and sitting outside on another night having pizza from the terrace bar.
The pub next door does get quite busy for food so best to book, so we ate at the (Top) Ship Inn in Porlock one night, which was excellent.
Great location for SW Coastal path

Breakfast good. Location and parking good.
Service poor. General state of cleanliness barely adequate. No lifts for less able people. Bathroom poorly maintained (loose toilet seat, partially blocked sink, leaks from shower screen, extractor fan not working). Updating required.

We had a comfortable room with a nice harbour view.
On the whole, a tasty breakfast.
We were not keen on the streaky bacon.
Porlock Weir is rather isolated, but that is not the fault of the hotel!

Everything! The location was amazing, food delicious and staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
My only criticism would be our room (number 17) was next to the extractor fan for the kitchen, and you could hear it when we were in our room. Having said that, when we went to bed and they had stopped cooking, we couldn't hear it.
