Castle Hotel

Stayed over on two of the hottest nights ever, location is excellent but the folowing should be noted: . Beds are cheap and awful . No tv other than standard channels . No mini fridge . Car parked is an extra £10.95 . Breakfast is an extra £20.00 it was cold and not good. Bacon was stone cold from the buffet even thought it started a 7am and was there 7.15am . Due to the age of the building their is VERY limited air conditioning, was told their were some rooms with that but none of our large party had any . Pub opposite is very loud until at least 11.30pm with the windows open it sounded like a rave outside . No sockets by the bed in some rooms . A fan was provided but did nothing my room was over 30 degrees at midnight . 1 botlle of water provided but no fridge so it so nearly hot by the time I used it Good points excellent staff who really made a great effort. Yes it wasnt their fault about the weather. Shower and water pressure brilliant thank god. But all in all for one of the most recognised and prestige places in Somerset on the whole just not good enough.

Great place to stay, easy access to all bars, restaurants/coffee shop & mall. Staff are polite & friendly.

The hotel was as hot as a Furness - so much so we left super early as we couldn't take it any more. The staff at check out didn't ask us once about our stay & to cap it off both the Hotel and the agent I booked it through have charged me for the room! I called the hotel & they basically said 'tough luck' call Agoda. Unsurprisingly Agoda are telling me that they had paid them for my room so they shouldn't have taken payment again. How on earth do I get my duplicate payment back? As with checkout the staff at the hotel couldn't give a monkeys! I would avoid if I was you!!
