It was relaxing and pleasant but was missing something.
Only one small croissant very small choice. Toaster was useless. I gave up with it, Better of choice of breads and pasteries, I was also disappointed by the very poor Dinner menu, it was more like poor Pub menu not a top class hotel as it used to be. However I last stayed at the Castle 60 Years ago.
The Suite was wonderful. More toiletries would have been nice.

Looks stunning and great central location for Taunton
Very expensive for size of room plus had to pay extra for parking. TV was very hard to work out. Very limited coffee supplies and had to request milk which was only UHT longlife mini cartons anyway

Comfortable stay, a bit basic if you’re used to higher end hotels
The building, the wisteria, history and central location in taunton was brilliant. The staff were attentive, kind and helpful. Spotlessly clean.
Small tweaks would elevate the experience. A nespresso machine in each room v packet coffee for instance. Some spare amenities on reception for guests for example who forget their toothbrush (like me), for the price you would have hoped that could have been resolved easily and helpfully. The breakfast was okay, nothing special for the £17 charge (better options up the road at The Boston Tea Party for the price)

A very lovely quiet hotel.
I booked this hotel due to the location close to The Cosy Club where I was attending a party. The hotel is a very nice old style hotel. The room was lovely and the staff were very helpful. The car park at the front would be very useful but I got a lift in. 😁 Oh, and the sausages at breakfast were the best I've had in a long time.
Everything was very nice.
