We absolutely have found a gem of a place to stay. From Josh's friendly help and service and overall service from all staff, the food, bar, facilities, to the tea tray and added extras, it was a cosy, relaxed and friendly stay. A lovely hotel ♡
The only thing is the most perfect room, but the mattress was so hard - it was a little hard to get comfortable.

Breakfast offered a great choice, friendly staff definitely return to this hotel, superb location for walking, quiet nights sleep and amazing views from our room,
Tv reception was poor but this due to hotel location so no fault of hotel staff,

Friendly helpful staff. Lovely food I had the homemade tomato soup and fish and chips made in their very own homemade batter. Compliments to the chef
Just a beautiful place to go and a very reasonable price, lovely Seaview in every room they also have an honesty bar which was great. You just help yourself. Write down what you had in the room. Number no hassles pay when you leave brilliant.

Lovely location, great views and a warm welcome.
Such nice duvets that even the teenager commented!
Parking on site and a short walk into Lynton village, with the cliff railway down to Lynmouth accessed straight from hotel grounds.
We liked everything!

Wonderful cozy family owned hotel. Very unique concept. Food was good, and if you get a chance to taste the tomato soup- go for it.
The view from out room was cool as well as the view during breakfast. Steve (the Owner) was super nice, so his wife and his sons.
Hope we get the Chance to visit Lynton again.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel is incredibly welcoming. This can be particularly credited to everyone working there. The views are amazing. Lovely terrace and lounge. If you're looking for a gym and a pool you might be wrong here, but if you're looking for a place to do a little time travel, absolutely relax and feel at home you're right.

Great view, English traditional style but stylish hotel.
Clean.
Very friendly owners and staff
Good breakfast!
We had room 7, which was large, quiet, and sitting on the couch a great view on the sea..
We didn’t need it, but they have 2 special large sitting rooms, with couches, books, games, fireplace.
Bit challenging is the parking place.

Perfect location, the outside terrace is a real added bonus with beautiful views across lynmouth bay. The Cliff railway runs right next to the hotel which is powered by water. The hotel is very clean, room was comfortable and decorated to reflect the traditional style. We had 2 seaviews you can have a shower looking at the view 😁 Lounge and dining areas are also nice. We walked to Valley of the rocks to see the sunset after a lovely home cooked dinner. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, The honesty bar is a bonus if you fancy a drink or snacks without leaving the hotel. Once you arrive you can park up and walk between the village's large car park nearby if staying longer once checked out. Both villages have shops cafés bars and lots of ice creams. Took the 2 mile walk to Watersmeet which is hilly and uneven under foot so wear good trainers/walking boots. Worth the walk. National trust cafe has a few homemade cakes, snacks and drinks. Dog friendly.

Great ambience, Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable setting and great view. They had their own path straight to Funicular and easy access to Lynton the town. Rooms were very comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast and Dinner were great and staff were efficient. You were also able to pre order dinner which made service excellent. An honesty system bar which worked well for drinks on the balcony to admire the view.
Beds were comfortable. Nice touches in the room to make it comfortable.
Parking. There was parking on site, however narrow and a little challenging.
The stairs to my room because I had a bad knee, but we knew in advance about the stairs, so packed a smaller bag for the night.

As soon as we stepped through the door, the warm hospitality at North Cliff Hotel was evident. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their warm hospitality and local knowledge added a truly personal touch to our visit.
The hotel itself is charming and full of character, with breathtaking views over the cliffs and sea. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection and attentive service that made our morning a pleasure.
What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the genuine care and friendliness of the hosts. They clearly love what they do, and it shines through in every aspect of the experience. We can't wait to return—thank you for such a wonderful stay!

This Hotel was certainly the surprise of our 3 week trip. We knew nothing about Lynton so were pleasantly surprised to arrive & find this amazing Hotel with our room overlooking the ocean & down across Lynmouth. Although it's a very old Hotel, the owners have made a great effort to modernise & decorate it. The bed was comfortable, room & bathroom clean & the breakfast was good.

Family run hotel with lots of personal touches. Hotel is in central location with fabulous views from all the rooms. Our room was well appointed and extremely comfortable with lots of plug sockets, mirrors, towels, toiletries and comfy seating. Hotel has a good selection of DVDS (every room has a player). There is plenty of comfortable seating in the lounge. Hotel has an honesty bar. Breakfast was excellent with ample choice and good sized portions. The hotel does provide evening meals if ordered in advance. The owners and staff were all friendly and very helpful.
We have no negative comments about this hotel. But be aware that all of this area is hilly and although this hotel is on the cliff, there is still a short but steep walk up into town.

Breakfast was fantastic and set us up for the day. Josh’s walking recommendation was really good and we covered a fair few miles in the two days that we were there. Rebecca & Steve were so welcoming and friendly. The lady who helped at breakfast too was super efficient. We will definitely stay again. Thank you.

This is such a smart, affordable and well presented hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Stunning views across the bay. The breakfast was hot and freshly cooked. The honestly bar was very well stocked, you write down what you've had (we had lots!) then pay when you check out. This really proves they trust and respect their guests. I will definitely go back another time - a hidden gem 💎
