Absolutely nothing

Owners were most helpful and very sociable- nothing was too much trouble
Was a bitter winters morning, reception and dining room could have been a little warmer, but hardly surprising given the freezing temp outside.

The location was lovely, with a good garden, and walk near by for our dog.
Breakfast was a full English, well cooked and presented. Cereals , toast etc was also available.
We had a lovely stay so nothing to fault for us

Good selection of buffet items. Cooked breakfast was cooked well.
I would have liked prunes, and fruit infusions but that is a personal preference.

A really peaceful spot. Comfortable, clean room. Plenty of interesting places to visit nearby. Excellent hosts! Very friendly, sociable, even offered us a lift to town and back for evening meal. House full of Jan’s lovely artwork. Enjoyed the chats with hosts and other guests over breakfasts, which were delicious. Thanks Kevin.
Really can’t think of anything!

My Boyfriend and I stayed there for a night, as a break before continuing our North Devon coastal tour. We stayed on the eve of my 40th birthday, where the following morning, for breakfast, I was greeted by the owners singing happy birthday, with a candle in my breakfast sausage!!
They are incredibly accommodating, as both myself and my boyfriend are disabled and use a walking stick, 2 steps were all we needed to contend with, as they gave us a ground floor garden room. We had our dog with us, so the room also gave us great flexibility as we could let the dog straight out from our garden double doors. The place was lovely and clean too, including underneath the beds and mattress. I am Gluten-free and Dairy free, which were both catered for. They had Gluten-free bread and cereals available, alternative milk and the sausages and hashbrowns on the full English are also Gluten and dairy-free!! (Let them know when you book). The owners were really friendly, with a great sense of humour, knowledgeable of the area and helpful, plus, they are dog lovers and have their own dog who is a big character, we loved him! Our room was an Ensuite shower Double bedroom, with kettle and variety of teas/coffee with the use of a mini fridge for milk/personal items, tv and free wifi. Inc double french doors opening out onto the lawn, with easy access to the car park.
The garden is not secure if you have dogs that tend to run off. Ours knows to stay near and does not run off or wonder, so we did not need the lead within the garden area, however not ideal and could be unsafe, so keep your dog on an extendable lead as a precaution outside if you're unsure.

A very inviting hotel hosted by Kevein and Jan who could not have been more welcoming to us and our Jack Russell. Great location to explore North Devon after one of the finest Full English I have eaten. Thank you.

Family owned hotel. Staff very friendly. Amazing location
WC was very old and barely worked (couldn't flush). There was no pressure in the shower. Old oil was used for cooking the hash browns (all hallway smelled of old cooking oil in the morning).

Excellent full English breakfasts plus cerise’s, toast & marmalade & coffee.
Lovely location.
Initially bed appeared to have stains on the mattress plus the “under sheet” didn’t seem fresh & clean. Rectified by the Landlady on the day of arrival.Generally

Such a warm welcome, and very friendly service in general, without ever being in-your-face. I've noticed so often when travelling alone that staff can be rather awkward or nervous or even offhand with you, but this was certainly not the case at this lovely place.
The breakfast was beautifully cooked....the bacon....mmmm!!!
Would definitely stay again.
My only tiny quibble was that the fridge in the room made a constant low-level noise/vibration. But I was so tired it didn't prevent me sleeping at all, and the advantage of having a fridge outweighs I think the noise.
