Lovely accommodation with old world charm and delicious food.

We received a friendly welcome. We had dinner in the pub. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection mmm . The room had a comfortable double bed with an ensuite bathroom. There was tea and coffee making equipment in the room. There was a view of the estuary and sea although the bedroom window was at floor level. The morning breakfast was included in the price. There was a choice of breakfast continental and cooked. The staff were friendly and welcoming at all times.

It might have been difficult to park in the summer season.

excellent hotel/pub to stay on the seafront - ample on street parking plus two car parks not far away (one with car chargers) Wxcellent froom in the restaurant and a great breakfast

nothing - but the stairs up to the rooms are narrow and a little steep - the staff did take our bags up for us - excellent!

Excellent hotel for a short break

View from the room was wonderful - right over the harbour. Our room was extremely comfortable and despite being over the bar, we heard very little noise. DInner and breakfast were really excellent and so much better than anticipated.

A great romantic getaway

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding. The view over the harbour was really lovely. The building itself was quirky - just mind your head!

Only as a last resort

Location

The room was very small and was poorly maintained and decorated. Not at all like the photographs. The breakfast we very poor and the dining room looked shabby and unclean. Food was unexceptional.

Refurbishments need completing.

It was a good location and the staff were very accommodating.

We upgraded to a sea view room which, while so much better than the other rooms, meant you could see the water through a very low small window. It also didn't help that the building front is covered in scaffolding. Our double bed was small and other than the bathroom everything was in serious need of refurbishment.

Disappointed by view being obscured and not as promised

It’s a lovely old pub with several cottages attached right next to the harbour. Stayed there before so bought a night for my daughter and boyfriend as a birthday treat

Paid extra for a sea view room. Questioned hotel about this and was told this room would not be affected and probably no scaffolding by the time of the booking. Sadly the scaffolding was obstructing the sea view quite a lot .

Lovely stay and this could of been an outstanding experience.

The shower was so good and powerful

One member of staff looked liked he didn’t want to be there and totally ignored us throughout our meal. He had long hair and looked like he was in the wrong job if I’m honest. The room was nice and an amazing view number 15. But all the wall paper was coming off at the bottom of the wall all the way along and looked liked it need addressing.

Wonderful setting for our anniversary

Lovely historic building. Staff friendly and helpful, room lovely and cosy with a good selection of hot drink options. Food was absolutely beautiful and location right by the harbour just perfect. Will definitely stay there again

Very clean room. Lovely view. Friendly, helpful staff. Good food portions.

Rather expensive for quite a small room, and a small bed. Quite noisy at night. Dining room chairs looked like they needed a clean.

Great Location and a real feel of old English charm

The cleanliness of our bathroom was poor, mould on ceiling and shower door not working properly! Just bad Housekeeping. The Restaurant was not an award winning menu. The food was mediocre and our waiter, looked like he needed a good wash.

If we came back I probably wouldn’t book a due to the reasons above.

The property is very pretty. However we paid quite a lot for one night and had no view, very small room and I had asked beforehand if we could bring our 2 border collies. Nearly impossible to get ourselves and the dogs up to the room. Not ideal at all. We really should have been either told this was the only room or been allocated a more accessible one. I felt very claustrophobic and in fact we didn’t stay we left after an hour of checking in. Very disappointed as was really looking forward to this.

As above. If you are dog friendly or even if not you should really be advising people of the stairs and lie beams. I appreciate it’s old but it’s quite pricey.

I liked the fact that when we arrived and they have double booked our seats facing room, they exchanged it for one of the cottages at no extra charge

Initially we were taken through some very winding corridors and staircases to a rear facing room, which was not what we had booked, but on pointing this out to them, they immediately remedied the situation
