A real gem in a gorgeous location with perfect hosts

We received a lovely warm welcome and were shown personally to our beautiful room with 4 poster bed. The complimentary homemade flapjack was a lovely touch, as were the high quality toiletries provided. Breakfast was 10/10 cooked to perfection and served in the lovely bright dining room. We can’t think of a way this visit could have been improved. Great all round.

Old fashioned basic bed for the night

Location was good and new bathroom.

This was more expensive than others we stayed at during the week which were much more modern and welcoming and we didn’t feel this one lived up to the reviews. We found it old fashioned, the room and bed were small.

Overly hosts and waitress at breakfast. Breakfast superb.

Lots of steps to get to the hotel , partner has a disability. Cost of having a dog not clear at booking. Charge was I felt excessive £25. No additional extras provided!! All other bookings this year have been £10 or nothing so I think this was a rip off.

Lynmouth is gorgeous place and we had a perfect stay at Orchard House and plan to return.

Comfortable and well located.

Great breakfast. And also very well located. Jason was friendly and gave me the impression that he would do anything to make our stay more comfortable. Even when we were departing, to go the next stage on the arduous South West Coast Path (that the accommodation is brilliantly located for) Jason said “just call if you get into trouble and I will come and get you” – and I genuinely believe he would if it came to it. How is that for looking after his guests? Brilliant. Also a nice touch that he has some family photographs opposite the bar. Nice. Recommended.

Restful Lynmouth and Lynton

Great position. Room and linen perfectly clean and bed very comfortable, along with lovely bathroom. Hosts were friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfasts excellent. Would definately recommend a stay at Orchard House.

Delightful and could not be more welcoming.

Excellent!! We stayed at 4 places during a coast walk, and this was the all round best for value for the quality, etc. Its a quaint, delightful and very well cared for place, nice sitting room etc, our room had sea view and 4 poster etc. Breakfast the best we've had all trip... Very flexible in caring for diets, etc, and mix and match pre ordering the night before, so you know it will be perfect, and homemade stuff (really good) of many kinds added in. They made sure they got stuff in for our diets. Ps, incl. breakfast fruit salad... totally fresh... (unlike a certain purple chain hotel) Very welcome after 2 days on the hills with no shops! The hosts are wonderful! Really friendly, skilled, but also low key and leave you to it. Ps if you're walking 11 miles from Porlock on the coast path, you are not going to want to go the extra km up the cliff to Lynton for a hotel. I'm so glad we stayed here. PPS, you can pre order a dinner as long as you do so at breakfast time. I'm sure it would be lovely too. I say this as a lot of the Lynmouth eateries were only due to be open again on Thursday (!) so the curious walker might want to consider that. There is a bus that goes virtually hourly from virtually outside this hotel to Lynton and on to Barnstaple station (check the bus company website, as Google maps is wrong). More than the other places I stayed this trip, and based on our lovely room I'd love to come back to this hotel.

-Yvonne and Jason were incredibly kind and helpful - excellent location - Breakfast were great - the bathroom was modern - beds are comfortable - the room was dated (but very clean) but I think that is the vibe and charm of the village

Lovely breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Blue Light on the bathroom mirror could not be turned off at night and was seen a little at door jams - my partner ultra light sensitive.
