West Somerset Hotel

The staff were excellent. The evening meal was very good. Good location in the centre of town. Pay & Display car park across the road was convenient.

Very steep steps up to the rooms. Would definitely recommend guests only take a tiny overnight bag in to the property. No breakfast served on Sundays (and only on Fridays and Saturdays 10.00am-12 noon which is a bit late). Room (#6) was pretty small due to it being an old building and shower was very small. No fan or aircon. Very uncomfortable mattress needs replacing. Door hooks on bathroom door to hang towels would be useful. No staff around on Sunday morning so exiting the hotel out the back with cases was not easy.

Super friendly staff. Room was perfect for 3-adults. Comfy beds. Plenty of space. Parking just across the lane. £6.50 for 24hrs. Good value. Co-op opposite. Plenty of Cafes in town. We missed eating due to plans but the food coming out of the kitchen looked great! Loved the hobbit door after hours entry. FUN!!

Close to the marina and nearby pubs. Not tricky though as it’s a tiny village. Lots of quirky parts of the building showing its age.

Staff pretty much weren’t to be seen all evening or the next morning on check out. They said they had a staff party of some sort and that we should just leave the keys in the door.
