It’s simply stunning, the accommodation is wonderful but the grounds set it apart. Beautiful gardens and really thoughtful design throughout make the villa the ideal base if you’re exploring Tuscany, especially its close proximity to both Lucca and Pisa. We only stayed one night at the end of a three week trip around Italy and Villa del Papa was a standout destination. Very friendly welcome and situated in a small town with a few local restaurants if you don’t want to drive at night.

We had a lovely one-night stay at Villa Del Papa. The lady running the hotel was so friendly and welcoming, which made the stay feel very personal. It was very pleasant relaxing by the pool, and the room itself was pretty, comfortable and full of character. A charming place to stay near Lucca.

Lovely clean pool and beautiful roses. Welcoming and polite hosts who helped us get from Pisa to the accommodation when we had difficulties!
Close to shops, restaurants and bus stop to Lucca and Pisa.

Well maintained.
Coffee machine in room was good and there was a good little fridge.
Also the room was spotlessly cleaned
Couldn’t access WiFi in my room. Too far from the router - outside was fine.
No breakfast or bar, although local facilities were very close.
BBQ available but no coals or firelighters or matches - you need to bring everything!!
It was VERY expensive but it was July in Tuscany. If I had paid half it would have been great value for money but for what we paid I could have stayed in Monaco for 4 nights!!!
