The accommodation was excellent but it was our host that made the biggest difference

A delightful stay in a convenient location.

The attention to detail is fantastic. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and finished and the kettle, coffee machine and cold water machine were most welcome. The location is excellent.

I had specifically searched for self catering accommodation, and the property does display under this filter. The facilities also state that there is a kitchen. However we discovered on checking in that the kitchen could only be used for breakfast and making refreshments. I can appreciate why this is the case but the listing does need to be corrected to reflect bed & breakfast.

Great comfy accommodation very clean and welcoming for a stay in a beautiful city

Debora the host was quick to respond very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and beds were really comfortable . The communal breakfast area was well stocked and a nice relaxed area. The location was easy to find 2 min walk from the city

The only negative I could find was the noise at night from the passing tourists and music from the local bars but Debora did provide ear plugs. But it was right in the hub of things so one would expect it to be busy at night

Comfortable stay. Great location. Wonderful host

Host Deborah was amazing. Really friendly, and took a few minutes to point out everything we needed to know about the property. Good sized area was available to guests, and some basic foods were made available for breakfast. Facilities for making tea and coffee were also provided. Room was excellent. Very comfortable. Shower room was spacious, and well equipped with towels and toiletries. Location was less than 10 minutes walk from the train station, and only a few minutes from some attractions. (Although Lucca is such a small city, that you can only be so far from attractions!)

It was very noisy from early in the morning, so be prepared with headphones, ear plugs, etc.

Perfect room for a stay in Lucca

Beautifully decorated property in an excellent location. Close to all Lucca attractions and the train station. The communal kitchen area has everything you could need and is modern and immaculate. Deborah, the host, could not be more accommodating

Charming, secure very comfortable stay.

Very secure central location, beautifully decorated. Walking distance to train. Huge kitchen facilities with everything you could want and food supplies ample for snacks, light breakfast. Very helpful friendly host.

A bit noisy at night (especially on weekend) with restaurants down below and from street traffic. It didn’t affect us too much though.

A terrific place!

A perfect location within the city walls and just 10/15 minute walk to the train station. The host, Debora, was delightful and always available for advice, suggestions and local knowledge. I would have no hesitation staying here again.

A hidden gem!!!

A fabulous spotlessly clean property with lots of extra touches that made the stay extra special. Definitely the best accommodation out of 3 destinations in Italy. Very central with a delicious coffee shop next door. Our host was so kind and helpful. Would highly recommend!!!

Our favourite host and accommodation of our trip! Deborah was so helpful and friendly, the rooms are close to the action and beautifully presented with lovely touches. Communal kitchen with other guests but generously filled with breakfast things and coffee.

Kitchen area was excellent and provided an alternative area to relax with a drink or snack.

Better information regarding location eg explaining entrance was the large doors next to Irish bar as there was no sign for the accommodation only on the door intercom.

Brilliant host, Wonderful hotel and fantastic location.

It’s so central to everything in the old town. It’s also a very short walk from the railway station. The rooms were clean and tidy and we loved the decor. The kitchen was well stocked with snacks and lovely coffee and tea. The hallway with the bookshelves and chandelier was so striking. You know you are in a classy and well looked after hotel.

There can be some noise from the street at the weekend but Debora explain this and gave us ear plugs. However the benefits of the convenient location of the meant this was not a big problem.

Perle d’Ambra is stunning! We wished we had stayed for more than one night. Our flight was delayed and Debra was very accommodating and gave us a warm welcome to Perle after a stressful trip

Great stay in a central, but rather noisy, location.

Central, very well equipped, and comfortable.

It’s a bit noisy in central Lucca at night and our room was above an Irish bar, which was noisy until after 1am on both nights we were there. I’d ask for a room at the back if you value a quiet night’s sleep.

Beautiful place and great communication from the owner.

It was in a convenient location -close to the train station and Deborah was very communicative. My room was clean and beautiful and the common areas were very well thought out. It was great to meet other guests in the kitchen area and there were lots of treats, coffee and such that we could help ourselves to. It was very close to access walking on the wall, which was one of the highlights of my short stay.

I found both the changes in the water pressure and temperature in the shower to be rather challenging, however I do recognize that it’s an old building.

The host was incredibly hospitable. She pre-set the air conditioning in the room so that when we arrived, it was lovely and cool. She provided a full kitchen, filled with food, water, cutlery, coffee and breakfast goods. The room itself was impeccably clean. In an ideal location to access fantastic food and drink.

What a delightful host Debora was. A beautiful property with stunning attention to detail. Lots of good storage space and immaculately cleaned and presented.

The noise outside the apartment was a little disappointing but Debora provided us with ear plugs and that helped.

Awesome location and beautiful room. Great communal area in the building and free espresso.

Location was great and check in process was superb. We were given a map of Lucca and suggestions for things to do. The room came with access to a shared kitchen that had some snacks and an espresso machine (that were all free). The room had plenty of space. There was an outdoor concert nearby and the host was kind enough to leave us earplugs in case we needed them.

The only complaint we had was the shower water temperature was finicky and tended to be cold water.

Perfect place to stay for couples

All of the reviews that mention the outstanding service are 100% correct. Very Very happy with the service we received during our stay. The room is beautiful, comfortable and very clean. You can listen to the babble from the street with the windows open or close them for peace and quiet. You are within the walls of the city within comfortable walking distance from the station. The bike hire is on the corner and very easy to hire to ride around the top of the wall. The best way to get your bearings on this beautiful historic town. Lucca was my favourite place on our 6 week holiday around Europe. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location, beautiful property and wonderful host.

Our stay at Perle D’Ambra was fabulous , Debora could not have done anymore for us, she was a perfect host and had thought of every little thing to make our stay wonderful. So many little touches like the home made cantuccini and the use of the beautiful kitchen to help yourself to tea/coffee/cold water and chocolates.
