We loved it here - beautiful, well-maintained palazzo - full of character and charm. Our suite was stunning and the staff were so helpful. The location was perfect - super central.

Our suite was a little cold to start with but the staff quickly provided extra blankets and a heater.

A Family Experience with a Zing!

Palazzo Rocci is not just a hotel, it's like a home with a family( called staff) If you're looking for true old Italy, this is the place! My suite was beautifully designed, bed soooo comfy, breakfasts different and delicious each day! If you need help with sites and great restaurants, ask ELIZABETH, she is a darling and Alexandera is a doll that will try to help you out if needed. You CANNOT get a better location than this!!! It's close to the best shops, great restaurants, bus station and train station. If you want a great taxi service( very reasonably priced - ASK ELIZABETH!! I highly recommend this hotel and I WILL BE BACK!

Convenient and quirky

Charming, quirky hotel right in the centre of Lucca. The staff were lovely- very helpful, and the breakfasts were fantastic.

The lights on the main building staircase would go off when we were between floors!

Clean, comfortable, spacious. Nice Italian breakfast. Walk to train and bus. Lots of great restaurants and shopping close by. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

FYI - there is an elevator but you will also have a few steps you need to negotiate.

Beautiful property in a great location. We had a fantastic room where we had breakfast served as well. The staff are lovely and so kind. We were given great restaurant tips and taxi numbers in the build up to our stay. 10/10!

It was a super wonderful stay and if we return to Lucca we will definitely stay here again!

Our stay was amazing! The staff , especially Elizabeth was so knowledgeable about the internet, WiFi and helped me navigate telephone numbers and all things we needed. She was anmazing and is a credit to your hotel staff. We had some drinks from the fully stocked bar and the breakfasts were amazing with all homemade food and breads! The cappuccino was delicious! The room was spacious and it was like staying in a medieval castle. Hand painted walls and ceilings were beautiful. The bathroom was large and spacious and there was a sitting area with a table and chairs and a safe with fridge and coffee and hot water makers along with a Nepresso type coffee maker. Could not have asked for a better visit. It was located right in the middle of St Michael’s Square in the heart of Lucca! I would rate this a five star experience! Bella!

Short and sweet, one night in Lucca

two adults and two kids, the staff was so friendly, the unit was a huge 2 bedroom apartment in the middle of the square. Breakfast was nice, it wasn't a buffet but a pre fixe type of sit down breakfast, but very nice way to start the day.

parking and lugging the bags from the car, which was partially our fault because we last minute booked and started driving in before getting the full instructions. the walk from the car to the hotel was about 10 minutes. Wouldn't bring heavy suitcases if you can help it.

Breakfast was presented with no choice at all and was too sweet for our taste. Iced croissants , sweetened yoghurt, rice crispies, not too fresh bread and mortadella and a small bowl of chopped fruit. Espresso very good though

We had a cosy hotel room that was fine for our needs (2 people). We asked to stay on a further night but our room wasn’t

Staff were awesome. All 3 ladies we dealt with were very nice and accomodating. The elevator was great. Walked the stairs on our first arrival as I wasn’t sure what floor we were on. Breakfast was quite nice.

I’d like better security on the rooms. Both rooms just had a plane old fashion key, but the suite had double doors that could be opened from the outside without a key. The bolt lock should be on the inside.

The central location was great. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast/sitting room was very impressive.

Bedroom was ok. Very comfortable and had all the amenities but shower was a bit basic and no daily top ups of water etc. Breakfasts were a bit random. You got given what they wanted to give you. We had scrambled eggs on toast one morning, simply put in front of us. It was lovely but we didn’t have a choice.

Beautiful decorations. Homey and spacious. Felt like we had our own apartment with staff. Everyone was very attentive and met all our needs. Breakfast was yummy. Perfect location. Only complaint would be the mattress was very thin and not comfortable. Also feels uncomfortable to use bedspread. Not knowing if it Was washed in-between clients? Or not? Would always prefer clean fresh sheets.

This may be an Italian thing, but we haven’t found a feather bead pillow yet and we’ve been to several lovely Palazzos. Perhaps it’s more a Sud Tyrol thing? We loved Palazzo Rocchi regardless (and I travel with my own pillow just to be safe). 😌

Our two-night stay at the Palazzo Rocchi was a wonderful start to our Via Francigena walk to Rome.

Our accommodations on the Piano Nobile of an old Palazzo were very comfortable and lovely to return to after walking around Lucca. Breakfast was very good and beautifully served. I loved the elegant breakfast/sitting room. The staff was exceptionally welcoming. They helped us buy tickets for the Puccini concert and made us dinner reservations.

No go zone

The entire experience at Plazza Rocchi was excellent—until breakfast. It was, without a doubt, the worst breakfast one could imagine in Italy. Expectations were high given the quality of the property itself, but what we received was completely disappointing. There were some baffling decisions: two people were served three half eggs—why three? Why not two or four? We received five slices of baguette for two people—what logic lies behind that? The coffee was awful, coming from an automated machine. How is it acceptable to serve bad coffee in Italy? We were promised fresh pastries from a local bakery, yet we were given the cheapest supermarket cookies. To conclude: it’s better to serve no breakfast at all than to offer such a poor one.

Fairytale Tuscan Palace

This hotel in the town of Lucca is a fairytale palace. Its central location was excellent, our room was beautiful and the fresh breakfast served every day was incredible, always using local delicacies. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. I’d recommend staying here and would certainly go back next time we go to Lucca.

Quiet and comfortable in a quirky, beautiful old building in central Lucca.

The location was in one of the main squares so couldn't be more central and yet the room was very quiet and peaceful with a lovely view to the clock tower.

A full length mirror in the bedroom would have been handy.
