Reasonable price hotel, helpful staff, clean, within walking distance if everything

Great location within a 3 minutes walk to a piazza with restaurants etc. 20 minutes walk from the train station. We had rain while we were there so the hotel provided umbrellas which was much appreciated. Not a huge selection for breakfast however perfectly adequate to satisfy your hunger.

Our room was quite cold. I asked in reception for the heating to be turned on but was told it was not possible, further, no plug in heater was available. Lo and behold…. I woke up the following morning to a hot radiator! Bar area (as we were inside) could be made more of for example sofas and low tables.

An ideal location for our short stay in Lucca.

La Luna is in a great location in the old part of Lucca. It’s not ‘brand new’ but it has the charm of a hotel that has operated well for a long time. Special mention of the kind staff who organised our taxi on our departure. It was late - they let the taxi company know! Bravo.

Super friendly characterful hotel in amazing part of old Lucca.

Fabulous location with superb Osteria right opposite. Staff so helpful. Room safe not working but secure box and key behind reception provided free of charge. Needed to but 3pin Italian adaptor as old hotel but not a problem. Great hotel And so friendly. Absolutely loved first visit to Lucca.

A delightful experience and I would go back anytime.

The staff were very friendly and so relaxed. The rooms are comfortable and even though it’s in the middle of the old city it’s very quiet.

Fabulous Lucca

The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. It's an old building and the rooms are small. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location is great, very central. Nice little bar too.

Great location, great stay.

The location; about a 10 minute flat walk with the suitcases for 10 minutes, in town, restaurants opposite. Staff feel very welcoming and allowed us to leave our suitcases before checking so we could wander around the town. The room was very spacious which allowed for two comfortable cities and a large wardrobe. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and airy. The air-conditioning worked well. The bathroom was very modern including a spa bath! The ceiling was beautifully painted plus some very impressive paintings on the walls. We overlook the courtyard and it was very quiet at night.

The fact that there was no lift and we were on the second floor!

Typical Italian interior decoration. In center of Lucca, very convenient for a morning or late walk. Despite the center location , it was very quiet during the night .

The breakfast is a little bit disappointing as I expected an Italian touch as cappuccino et Co and finally get a poor continental buffet with cafe americano.

Great location for exploring Lucca.

Tiny Tv. WiFi is patchy. Aircon not working. Rooms dark as have shutters for privacy. None of these were a major issue for me but might be in certain circumstances.

Excellent Hotel in a perfect location with very helpful staff.

The breakfast was excellent and seemed to have been designed for an international audience. A real bonus was the fact that there were many gluten-free options. All of the staff that we met were very helpful and went out of their way to give us information that we needed, including making telephone calls on our behalf. The location is perfect for exploring Lucca.

Well the room although comfortable was a little small but this is a minor consideration given all the positives. The hotel is close to many tourist attractions which means that there are a number of Torres traps nearby. So I recommend avoiding any of the restaurants that are encouraging you with some insistence on coming in to sample their ways.

Mi piace molto questo posto. This is a nice, unpretentious hotel with great staff They thought of everything at breakfast which isn't easy, including gluten free options, an egg maker, pastry, coffee CANADIANO etc. I felt comfortable as a solo traveller and they deal with a lot of international people as well as Italians . The atmosphere is inviting and simple.

E un po furbo a dicer que la stanza ha un Vista di il giardino. It's a bit of a stretch to say that my room had a "courtyard and GARDEN view." As you can see from the picture, it looks like a prison, not a garden. However, I asked for a quiet room, and this was quiet so I appreciated that. Also , the cleaners were lovely and kind women who really go the extra mile. Wonderful people. Professional, helpful and kind. I saw some cars parked by the door so they clearly try to accommodate drivers as well although I came by train, as do many. I had issues with my safety box beeping in the middle of the night but a lovely woman came and managed to make it stai zitto or be quiet.

Location was superb, and the staff were willing and available. Air conditioned room was vital in the current heatwave and it functioned quietly and smoothly throughout our stay.

The hotel is in a great location, next to the amphitheatre. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. Good selection for breakfast and nice clean and air conditioned rooms. This was a return visit and I would stay again.

Great location and okay hotel

The room was very quiet, and you could darken the room completely. The location was excellent. The brrakfast was okay. I've had better ones, but never in Italy :-). I was very surprised to see there was more than a dry toast.

When, the initial problems were solved we had a good stay. But, would not stay at this hotel again.

The location was good with easy access to all of the old town area of Lucca. The breakfast was good and any items that had run out were repleished by the staff reasonably quickly. The rooms were adequate considering it was an old historic building. The bathroom was also adequate, but the shower door needed to be lifted slightly to allow it to be moved. Most of the staff tried very hard to be helpful and whilst most succeded this was not always the case.

One big complaint. The weather was particularly warm for the time of year. The hotel central heating was switched on and the thermostatic radiator valve adjuster was missing. The radiator could NOT therefore be turned off. The heat in the room was such that it was impossible to sleep. It took multiple requests before staff were able (willing?) to isolate the radiator from the system.

My stay within the wonderful city walls was delightful and this hotel made everything quite convenient.

It’s location couldn’t be better. I had a great experience in that I added a day to my original reservation and they made it possible that I didn’t need to change rooms. They also had tickets available for a concert that evening- handy I was able to store my suitcase after I checked out until I was scheduled to leave the city.

I think a comfortable chair in the room would have been a plus.

A nice place to stay overall.

Great location and staff. Nice sized room, very clean. Good breakfast buffet which you can take outside if the weathers good. Easy walking to numerous sights, bars and restaurants in the centro storico.

Like anywhere in Italy can be noisy at night, sometimes people partying outside or nearby till 2 or 3 am. Right opposite a restaurant so noise from there till that shuts about 11pm. No soundproofing - couldn’t have the window open due to the noise and the ac didn’t work so the room got pretty hot and stuffy at night… Didn’t ruin our stay but light sleepers beware…
