Breakfast was excellent, superb choice, very well laid out and very efficient.

A retained taxi or shuttle service into Lucca would have been helpful, but the local taxis were generally good.

The rooms were kept spotless by the hard working cleaner. They were cool and comfortable. The property was charming, but poolside and outdoor furniture needed updating. The staff , in particular Silvia and Hannah, did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, they were extremely hard working and had to cope under a lot of pressure from guests.

On arrival we couldn’t get in ! Lucky for us two English tourists admitted us and found a member of staff. We were disappointed to discover the poolside romantic dinner was not available. Also I thought there were two bars. There was only one by the pool which closed at 7pm or7.30. The floor of the pool was cleaned by a robot, but there was a ring of sun cream and brown stain it couldn’t reach around the rim of the pool.

Suite with Terrace - Well worth a stay and perhaps in the warmer weather when the swimming pool is open. This is just outside of Lucca and ideally a car or electric bikes required to get into Lucca. We did have trouble finding, so may be worth putting the main street Via S. Donato in and working from there. You have a button on the gate to ring to let you in and then they give you a code to get in and out. Our room was not ready as we arrived really early, but they offered another room. We said we would wait and left our luggage and came back later and glad we did. A lovely room with Terrace. Very quiet, not much room to walk around the bed or put your suitcase, but does have a wardrobe and fridge and reasonable sized shower. Bed was comfortable. As we were site seeing and only really sleeping in the room and had the big terrace this was not a problem. We only stayed 1 night, so did not have breakfast due to an early start. Stairs up to our room, no lift, but the staff did take our bags up for us. Not an issue, just a comment. Would come back again in the warmer weather and stay longer to enjoy Lucca, which one minute was sun shine and then rain in April, so be prepared. Lucca is a great place to walk around and stop and people watch. Plenty room to park the car. Staff very friendly, room very clean and they left a bottle of wine for us. Easy to get into Lucca, but the electric bikes in Lucca were expensive, so hire from the bike shop just up the road from Castello dei Templari.

Nothing we enjoyed our short stay. Not an accommodation issue - but take mosquito repellent as you are in the country.

Breakfast was good, staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area was lovely and nice touch. Location was only a short walk into Lucca.

Sometimes getting drink or food ordered when around the pool required a little wait due to the number of staff on site.
