Delightful, warm, friendly, clean...perfect!!

We were very, very satisfied at the Hotel Palazzo Alexander we were greeted with the warm smile of Mario, who helped with our suitcases from the taxi, explaining everything in perfect English about the town of Lucca ...with a map. He had our room ready and waiting for us ... very elegant but comfortable, gorgeous wooden beams on the ceiling, and impeccably clean. Later that evening, we met another wonderful gentleman at the front desk, who greeted us and then was there every morning in the breakfast room. I regret not asking his name...he also treated us like family... sometimes with a joke.. delightful!!The breakfast room again elegant, but comfortable. A cooked breakfast is offered,as well as fresh fruit yogurt, etc....wonderful way to start the day with cappuccino, café, juice etc... We highly recommend ....

Lovely place, quiet but near everything

It was a beautiful little hotel. Tucked away but close to everything. We could hear the birds singing from our room, just delightful. They communicated with us well even though our Italian is terrible. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The breakfast was exceptional. Everyone was kind and helpful. Just 20 minutes from the train station. We will definitely stay here in the future. Thanks for a perfect weekend!

Amazing place with great idea for interior. Reception crew was excellent and extremely helpful. Good position close to external gate of town.

Not actually hotel problem but works on streets in town gave us a bit of struggle to get there by car. In the end reception crew helped us to find good parking place.

Breakfast was great. Staff very friendly and keen to assist. Interior of building was characterful. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished. Great shower!

Fabulous stay

Fabulous stay in Lucca at this lovely family run hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful, location was perfect for walking round the historic centre and close to all the highlights, piazzas and restaurants. Room was spacious, breakfast was excellent and prepared to order. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will return.

Traditional Italian hotel. Great location - very central for exploring beautiful Lucca, but in a quiet area. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfasts were very nice with a good choice.

Loved this hotel!

Loved this hotel! It's quaint, with traditional European hotel features (small beds, small shower) but it had everything we needed. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, bottled water. We stayed in 2 connecting rooms (1 king and 2 twins) which was perfect. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly. Loved the breakfast. Location was just a few minute walk from the center of the old town. Would definitely stay here again!

We gifted this hotel to my sister as we were unable to go. Her comments to me were that the hotel is delightful. It’s a family run hotel so the service is personal and thoughtful. She stayed in a junior suite which was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The breakfasts were good.

Great boutique hotel with a royal hotel feeling.

Breakfast every morning was great. Menu provided everything that you usually want in the morning. The staff was excellent and went above and beyond to help us with finding restaurants, book taxis or transfers. Just a great group of staff members.

Fabulous hotel, walked in from the baking heat outside to lovely air conditioned lobby and a warm welcome. Centrally located just 5m walk from main drag, and 10m to car park outside the walls. Rooms nicely decorated with espresso machine. Breakfast was fantastic. Pre-arrival comms helpful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, hope to come back.

beautiful setting very rich in colour ,beautiful hotel with such history. wonderful service through out our stay. we held our wedding there which was a perfect location , the hotel laid on a reception for the guest to arrive ,having a toast before departing the short walk to the Orsetti Palllazzo Hall. All in all a Romantic setting, perfect wedding .

Excellent hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. Roberto was a star who made us welcome from a late arrival to an early departure and served a really splendid breakfast.

We had 5 nights at Palazzo Alexander and enjoyed it very much.

An excellent hotel full of character. Rather old fashioned and quirky in many ways but well run with lovely and helpful staff very good breakfast and lift that arrived quickly always. The location away from the main sights was quiet but close to the city walls.

The pillows were awful and need to be updated. Just a slab of foam in a pillow case is not comfortable.
