Good but missing a bit of atmosphere

No shade at the pool - needs some trees and the around the pool gardens need some love- looking a bit sad compared to the lush public beach path and other properties nearby Accessibility- The path to anywhere was a long walk around the rooms - make some pathways through the gardens perhaps. Under renovations so perhaps it isn’t always like this ?

Fantastic, relaxing stay

We arrived very late at night and were warmly welcomed in the lobby. We stayed in the three-bedroom villa and, although a little run down, it was beautiful with the whole family having lots of space. The private lap pool was some 15m long and enjoyed by all. We did experience some water coming into the villa through the closed windows due to torrential rain one night, but it was dealt with promptly with the windows being sealed the next day. Highlights were the amazing selections and service at breakfast. I have been lucky to stay at some wonderful hotels and resorts over my time, and this was an excellent breakfast buffet with a la carte options included. Along with the usual options, there was a juice station where the staff were happy to make fresh juices to your heart's desire, a traditional Balinese station and a wellness station for all your acai and smashed avo needs. Coffee was great too. Beds were very comfortable and ensured everyone had a wonderful sleep. Grounds were well tended to. Beach was clean too. Every single staff member was warm and friendly and made our vacation that extra bit more special.

Can’t wait to come again for the third time

Everything about the villa was exactly how I had hoped - perfect for all ages. We went as a family and my 87 year old father. Every facility was excellent- staff so accommodating and very supportive.

Excellent choice to stay in Sanur

The room is very comfortable, we all enjoy everything the room provides. The pool is so huge (Olympic size) and this is one of the best hangout beside the lounge (Pier 8).

Very good, fancy felt very luxurious and everyone was nice and accommodating.

The breakfast was good. I had a really good coffee. The swimming pool was clean and we were given free towels. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was peaceful and looked out to the gardens.

I don't know I thought everything was great. If I had to pick something that I would suggest to improve on (which is hard to find because everything was fabulous) I would say we wished the pool was open for longer.

Good service let down by an old property

Our villa was spacious, service was warm and attentive, Sanur location is overall fantastic - we really loved it for our family

Very dated room (extremely loud extractor fans, messy grouting and lots of calcification in the bathrooms), mediocre breakfast, loungers in the beach area a bit unloved

Hotel location and the food is good, not only the breakfast but also food at the restaurant and room service.

The room’s facilities should be improved. The ‘winged termites on the bed incident’ shouldn’t have happened.

It was a nice experience but for value of money the resort needs to improve.

Beautiful, well maintained gardens. The garden see view from our suite. Breakfast was great a true moment to relax. Very friendly and helpful staff, and great food.

The water pressure was so weak and we didn’t have hot water for the 1st 3 days. The resort seems to have a general problem because the water pressure was also like this in other parts. Last day we had water leaking from the ceiling (but they dealt with it immediately). The bed was not comfortable enough and the there were no dedicated children swimming pool.

Breakfast was lovely.

The verandah was caged in, it was awful, it was a garden room and you could not see the garden just a black cage, this was not nice at all. The room did not get cleaned at all, when we contacted the front office as we needed clean towels, they advised the room was scheduled to be cleaned between 5pm and 5.30pm, we had returned to our room at 5pm after a day activity and wanted to rest after the day activity, not have the cleaners in the room at that time, way too late in the day. The management did apologise for this and sent afternoon tea which was really lovely of them.

Gap between expectations and actual experience would affect rebookings in the future. Unfortunate.

General ambience was well presented and set the mood for the stay. Large infinity swimming pool, reasonable gym and spacious bar area were positive features. Operational staff were kind and considerate.

A few major areas of concern with security and pest control had to be conveyed to management. Specifically Villa door security and insect infestation. These basic elements were drastically below what you would expect of the brand. Meals were included but there were limited choices. Receptive to feedback but issues should have been addressed with expected quality management.

Beautiful stay in a top notch resort and location.

Stayed in a 3 bedroom Villa which was HUGE! The pool was amazing and the beds were very comfortable.

There were birds chirping all night but earplugs would solve that if you dont need to listen out for children in the night.

We loved the location, staff, breakfast was delicious, pool, how clean and tidy everything was.

The only negative, you need more lounge chairs around the pool, just not enough for everybody, we wanted to relax on our first day around the pool and we couldn’t through lack of lounge chairs, think that is a major problem, also people put there belonging on the loungers to reserve, then not show up for a couple of hours, think you need a sign, can only reserve for half hour. You have some black stones at either end of the pool maybe that could be filled in and put more chairs in that area. Thank you

Great location & potentially excellent property, with very friendly staff, which needs a little TLC.

Our 2nd floor Garden Room Suite included 3 large and spacious rooms. Very comfortable huge King Sized Bed with great comfortable pillows. Breakfast at Layang Layang Restaurant was excellent. Staff and their Management were so friendly and helpful. Large Swimming Pool overlooking Sanur Beach & the sea, was very relaxing.

Tardy Property Maintenance e.g. along Garden Walkways and Handrails. Exposed Electrical Conduits & Wiring. Rubbish management. Bedroom cleaning needs improvement. Daily towel, drinking water and bed linen change was excellent, but not room & bathroom cleaning. After 2 weeks our bathroom smelt terribly!

Recommendations

The hotel is really nice and in a great location, you can walk to the beach area and all the events. The pools are beautiful. The food is delicious. Fried bananas are perfect. All recommendations!

Unfortunately, the rooms, as well as the entire hotel, are not ideal for small children. (I was with a 10-month-old baby who is walking) There are stairs in the room and everything is made of stone, which was very frustrating for us. We had no peace anywhere, danger lurked everywhere. Also, the beds were not the most comfortable (a little soft) and creaked when turning..

Perfect Hotel Oasis in Paradise

We fell in love with this Hotel for the moment we walked in the lobby. The staff and room are exceptional, a quiet and perfect location for a relaxing getaway, the breakfast was outstanding, the Staff, location, and the rooms we amazing and accommodating, I can't wait to go back. There was also a power outage on the island for 4 hours, but thankfully, this hotel has back generators. The sunrise from the bedroom was spectacular. I can't wait to go back

Disappointing - Not up to standard and quality expected of Intercontinental

The location is perfect, easy access to seaside, beautiful sunrise - our family enjoyed renting bikes to cycle along the beach to all the cafes and restaurants. The hotel restaurant and the food were nice and pleasant.

Not up to the reputation and standard expected of any Intercontinental hotel :-( The main building and the 2 rooms we booked were in need of maintenance / refurbishment - a lot of items were broken in the rooms (wardrobe door, bathroom soap holders, shower palm, ...) - The building and very long corridors to access reception / restaurant are in need of maintenance / paint as well. The beach area is under refurbishment and that was mentioned on the website - however the beach itself was not cleaned for 3 days in a row - all the hotels nearby have the beach cleaned on daily basis to remove rubbish and excess seaweeds.

Very nice stay at IHG Sanur for family of 5

Great hotel in Sanur, at the beach. Very good gym for this size hotel. Breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner menu had a good mix of Indonesian, burgers and sandwiches. Rooms were really excellent!! Large rooms and very comfortable

5 star hotel? don't think so...

Definitely the friendly staff, which was doing their best to solve the issues we faced during our stay.

We booked 2 rooms. In one of the rooms the CA was broken, the room too shabby, definitely overpriced for this quality. The hotel is huge and has ca. 10 chairs at the pool and the beach. One has to "fight" for a chair. We were told first come, first serve, and it is not possible to reserve the chairs in advance. So we followed this advice and left our belongings early in the morning on the chair. When we came the belongings were not there and other people on the chairs. Afrer some research, we could find out that the security threw away our belongings, even though they saw us leaving our sfuff on the chair. And later on we found out that apparently one can reserve the chairs in advance.... This was a very unpleasant experience. Is deffinitely not 5 star hotel.
