Good resort, great location and staff

The resort was well planned, the gardens are beautiful and well maintained, the location was great, right on the beach and there is a beach walk that is pathed. The resort has 2 swimming pools and although the resort has a restaurant and a couple of bars there are lots of good restaurants and close by. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful, special mention to Doni, my room attendant and Maria at the beach side bar. The was spacious, clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable

Awful

I didn’t like this property and wouldn’t stay here again.

We checked in at 1am and requested a late check out. We were told we could check out at 2pm. The room had mould in it, walls were dirty and it was very very basic. When I woke at 7am I was asked to submit a positive hotel review. We were harassed several times to do a review to maintain the late check out. We were then removed from one of the rooms. The ethics of this hotel are poor; we left feeling very uncomfortable. The breakfast was awful also.

Its location was excellent. Most of your staff were exemplary. The Breakfast offering was great. Was great to be able to get a bed around both of the pools.

Some of breakfast staff could use extra training, with regards to intuition, (be on the look out when to replenish breakfast items, cutlery etc, not 1 by 1 but many at a time.) some staff jumped too quick to take away plates whilst still finishing breakfast. We noted a young man standing catching wasps around the condiments on a board, it actually put me off my breakfast a few times, not a good look at all. Invest in small prepackaged jams instead of jars, or at the least provide jars of water for spoons to be contained in after serving of jams from the big jars, this will reduce wasps (I have seen this help in places like Fiji ) Also, use smaller handled ladles on yoghurt bowls in fridge as numerous occasions the long handles knocked on the above shelves inhibiting the user being able to pour from the ladle, I witnessed the yoghurt being spilled so many times on the floor in front of fridge. Or again invest in small individual-size re-useable pots . This would also save the wastage. Pool towels definitely let the Accor/Mecure Brand name down - they look no better than rags, I was embarrassed to use them on the beach. Some investment needs to be made into replacing with decent proper pool towels. Also some of the SunBed mattresses could really do with a good scrub as they were very grubby/dirty/grimey. Our room was very tired and definitely in need of a facelift and a deep clean to remove the smell of mould from wherever it was coming from.

Quality of food and drinks were both underwhelming. The resort also has no ATM so you have to leave to get cash.

Room was very dated and in need of total renovation. Floor tiles were loose, fixtures and fittings worn, hole in curtains, bathroom shower floor was stained bed was not comfortable. Very dissatisfied.

Rooms had very bad smell. The shower had no water come out of shower head. It was droplets at a time. Breakfast doesn’t look fresh compared to other resorts I’ve stay at on the island.

This unattractive, poorly maintained, noisy hotel is a stain on the Mercure (Accor) brand.

The beach was clean.

Almost everything was 'tired' if not exhausted: the bed, the towels, the taps, the doors. The noise and dust of maintenance from nearby rooms impinged seven days a week. The smiling staff had no ideas or solutions.

We loved the buildings and staff. The location just off the beach but also quiet foot traffic. The staff are very helpful. Two pools to choose from and so close to the front beach footpath which is great for exercising.

It was a cheap one night stay when we arrived late. Efficient airport pick up and easy walk out to beach restaurants for breakfast before heading to our destination in Bali East

The location and beach proximity

The Mercure I stayed in has clearly seen better decades. The whole place feels aged, and the facilities haven’t kept up with modern standards. This goes especially for the room and bathroom. With the bathroom door open, I literally cannot sit on the toilet. Who designed that. And the shower. Well. Calling it “basic” would be generous. It’s just a shower hose. A one-star special. Mounted at an angle that makes it impossible to turn it on without getting sprayed with cold water first. And to top it off, the water stream shoots straight toward the bathroom door, flooding the place like a mini-tsunami. Why nobody has fixed this in a hotel of this size is beyond me. At the pool, things were not much better. They scheduled construction work during daytime. Right at the pool bar. Cementing. Heavy tools. Dust. And guests trying to relax next to power tools. I stepped straight through wet cement. Perfect holiday vibe. And then the pool staff. Honestly. Someone should take their phones away. They sit there scrolling all day and ignore the guests. Everyone is lying on sunbeds with no cushions, not knowing cushions even exist. Unless someone accidentally walks behind the counter and discovers them. Then everyone else suddenly wonders why they don’t have any. Meanwhile the staff keep scrolling. It’s almost comedy. Management seems nowhere to be found. At least not in the places where oversight is needed. These are basic issues any active manager would notice within five minutes. Breakfast. Let’s say it politely. Not good. I tried it once. After that I went to the Genius Bar next door because it was simply better in every way. That’s my honest take.

Beachfront location is only redeeming factor

A convenient location with direct beachfront access. The beachfront promenade has a nice atmosphere and a selection of cafe's and bars along the way which is pleasant.

The entire complex feels a little rundown. This is my third stay at the resort, 2 of which where in the course of this month and my first room was was a little more tatty the the second, but nevertheless ... it needs work. Food is not great, I ordered mostly room service and nearly all meals where poor quality, e.g. salads that looked like they had run out ingredients, overcooked / undercooked elements, etc. And on 2 out of 3 occasions there was no still water... what international brand hotel the size of this runs out of still water for room service?

Beautiful resort

The resort is so pretty with lots of lovely quiet areas. The staff couldn't do more and were always friendly and helpful. Spacious rooms, with sizeable balcony and right on the beach!

We were in a party of six and keys were given out to anyone, yet on the computer none of us were in the correct room which made it impossible to charge to the room from any of the bars. Furthermore, one of our beach days was disturbed by the jet skies, which filled the air with the smell of petrol as well as interrupting our swimming and the general peace of the day.

Good budget accommodation

The grounds and the staff and the location were beautiful. The location on the beach where it was nice to swim, just beautiful.

My biggest complaint is that smoking was allowed. You couldn’t eat breakfast or lay by the pool without someone smoking. It’s really disgusting. The buildings were a little tired and my room smelled strongly of mould but it was spotlessly clean. Could do with a little update as the buildings are lovely. And ban smoking in food and pool area.

Baby cot was broken (sides fall down) Room was for 2 adults and 2 kids - only had 2 towels and requested multiple times for additional through reception and housekeeping, never received additional towels. No face cloths, no milk for tea/coffee in room. No mini bar, no gym facilities. Breakfast was below average for buffet. Service was slow, plates were never cleared, table resets/turnaround slow Swimming pool temperature was like a bath.

A good variety for breakfast, lots to choose from. A lot of seating options and the staff are accommodating.

The rooms are a bit dated, we had to have maintenance attend to fix shower draining. There was limited towels and the majority of them seemed old.

Located right on the beach at the southern end of Sanur. Large well spread out property with extremely friendly staff. Some of the facilities are a little tired but still very good.

Reception for ABC Australia was poor but most other channels they have were acceptable. The hotel lacks a gym of any sort

Sanur Stay

Was a beautiful location and gardens if you want peace lol . Quiet for us for 8 nights as a couple. We are more inclined to hustle and bustle. Great for a family with kids. Very safe. (Easy to get a gojek though 15.00 AUD to Kuta as a guideline)

Quiet area, good for a wind down though, dated rooms for the price we paid. Stayed in lovely accommodation in other areas for half the price. Breakfast wasn't the best, considering we are really not fussy eaters. Staff were beautiful and made up for other parts that were lacking
