Lovely quiet place, recommend enjoyable short bush walk was nice

We had a loft room, a little tired, valance was ripped & poked under mattress but fell down & looked tacky, the bed cover had tatty pulls in it very noticeable, one bedside lamp was sitting funny as was broken & not repaired

Beautiful grounds, we didn’t have a balcony would have liked an area where we could have sat outside with the view to have our bottle of wine.

If you need a scape from the noisy city this is your best option

It was surrounded by nature, so peaceful and great customer service. The restaurant outstanding, we had breakfast and dinner, and both amazing! You don’t really need to go out from the resort. We did a nice beautiful walk around it.

We really liked everything, the only things we noticed as a suggestion is that the resort in general could have a nice restoration, change of furniture and improvements considering the beautiful location and landscape.

The view Spectacular 😍 Best bed ever slept in and we have stayed at a lot of motels. Working Spa Room service was awesome 👌 Staff were welcoming ,enjoyed our stay, and they actually have milo for hot drinks. Will stay again.

No light in kitchen,was blown no biggie. Missed certain places when vacuuming, Holes and tears in net curtain. I can see why you pay a bond, people beforehand done little damages, and rooms not spectacular cleaned etc, but ups no problem getting bond back 👍🏼 wish i took more photos for review to do justice,cause the view and scenery is a winner,only done videos unfortunately,the room is still lovely would stay again.

When you need a break from the business

The environment. Quiet. The staff were amazing from the front desk to waiters, thank you. I needed space away from home and it was perfect for me to be grounded. The room I had was number 5 and I had a view of trees. I needed peace and I got it.

The view was this hotels only saving grace. I would also add the gardens were well maintained, and the food was of a good quality.

Everything else. Hotel gives "Bates Motel" vibs. Reception staff didn't seem to have any authority and had to check with the owners they didn't seem well trained. Again, the restaurant staff were better. I actually only stayed the two nights managed to get the other nights refunded after the owners approved. It's very old-fashioned, not really a hotel by modern standards very dated. The rooms hadn't been cleaned that well I had to point out things to the cleaner. The photo below is of the air vent in the bathroom after it had been cleaned before it was thick with dust. I tried to use the trails, but they were blocked with fallen trees. The gym has some weights but not really a proper range of equipment. Booked well thought I'd booked a massage, but the reception staff had put it on the wrong day even after ringing the spa manager to make sure there was availability...so no massage 🙄..I was offered a massage fir a couple of days later but by now I'd had enough.

It just lacked a few minor details like more pool furniture eg. loungers, drinking water near spa. Restaurant prices were a bit steep. But these are small things. It was wonderful!

DO NOT BOOK!!! Its so dirty

Do not book! It is sooooo dirty and outdated…on the floor there was hair eveywhere (carpet, floor, bed). On the sheets there were red and yellow stains ad well as hair. On the window it looked like mould, the main door had a crack under it so you can hear everything. It is super noisy and outdated.

Lovely view of the city. Clean rainforest air.

The menu. The very steep driveway. There was nowhere comfortable to sit and write in the room. One of the pillows had marks on it. There were three guests staying in the hotel total (or at least that's what it looked like) and we were placed right next to another room so we could hear one another a bit too well. If your hotel is empty space your guests out. It was extremely hot with no aircon.

The location i see from the map which they showed to the our main travel reason to the Redwood park golf club and said its only 6.8km but actually it was 16km to the golf club and no air condition at all and the bathroom and the fridge wasnt clean.

Everything was exceptional from the moment I walked in! Front desk was friendly and upgraded my room and helped me with my various requests. The property is stunning and I loved being in a forest with birds and fauna. The price was generous and definitely worth it!

Beautiful getaway right in the heart of Waitakere Ranges.

You could feel the history in the different areas of the property. It was beautiful in its originality if you know the history. Was privileged to see its beauty and surroundings on arrival on a sunny afternoon to when it was spitting/raining in the evening and early in the morning with the morning mist hovering over the ranges. I would love to come again and bring my family and extended family as a big getaway one time in the near future.

Nothing to dislike if you are coming to this proprety without knowing the history. I thoroughly enjoyed this property and the tranquility and peaceful feeling it gave being out in the ranges in its secluded own oasis.

What a amazing place to stay. Quiet and relaxing surrounded by beautiful native bush and birds!

We were upgraded by the friendly reception staff member and loved our room with a balcony and a great view over the forest and out to Auckland City. Jibin and his other staff members were very friendly and so helpful! We had evening meals there for 3 nights and 3 breakfasts too. All were first rate. The steak was particularly beautiful. The whole week was superb and we really relaxed. The Ridge Walk was perhaps a little suprising lol. A bit steeper than I imagined but the views were to die for!

Great getaway in Forest

Beautiful location in forest, with magnificent views over Auckland. Staff were great-friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant was Superb. The rooms were clean, tidy, spacious and well appointed (premier room) with great view. Very quiet and peaceful.

Water pressure in shower is a little low, and temperature can fluctuate quite a bit. Paper sachets for soap/shampoo are painful to use, and no shelf in shower to place them on whilst showing.

Evening reception staff told me I couldnt order breakfast and a late check out untill the morning.. Which was not convenient due to wanting a sleep in. But morning staff were amazing.. was a bit of a maze trying to find reception in the rain.
