Lovely view of the city. Clean rainforest air.

The menu. The very steep driveway. There was nowhere comfortable to sit and write in the room. One of the pillows had marks on it. There were three guests staying in the hotel total (or at least that's what it looked like) and we were placed right next to another room so we could hear one another a bit too well. If your hotel is empty space your guests out. It was extremely hot with no aircon.

The location i see from the map which they showed to the our main travel reason to the Redwood park golf club and said its only 6.8km but actually it was 16km to the golf club and no air condition at all and the bathroom and the fridge wasnt clean.

Beautiful getaway right in the heart of Waitakere Ranges.

You could feel the history in the different areas of the property. It was beautiful in its originality if you know the history. Was privileged to see its beauty and surroundings on arrival on a sunny afternoon to when it was spitting/raining in the evening and early in the morning with the morning mist hovering over the ranges. I would love to come again and bring my family and extended family as a big getaway one time in the near future.

Nothing to dislike if you are coming to this proprety without knowing the history. I thoroughly enjoyed this property and the tranquility and peaceful feeling it gave being out in the ranges in its secluded own oasis.

What a amazing place to stay. Quiet and relaxing surrounded by beautiful native bush and birds!

We were upgraded by the friendly reception staff member and loved our room with a balcony and a great view over the forest and out to Auckland City. Jibin and his other staff members were very friendly and so helpful! We had evening meals there for 3 nights and 3 breakfasts too. All were first rate. The steak was particularly beautiful. The whole week was superb and we really relaxed. The Ridge Walk was perhaps a little suprising lol. A bit steeper than I imagined but the views were to die for!

Great getaway in Forest

Beautiful location in forest, with magnificent views over Auckland. Staff were great-friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant was Superb. The rooms were clean, tidy, spacious and well appointed (premier room) with great view. Very quiet and peaceful.

Water pressure in shower is a little low, and temperature can fluctuate quite a bit. Paper sachets for soap/shampoo are painful to use, and no shelf in shower to place them on whilst showing.

Evening reception staff told me I couldnt order breakfast and a late check out untill the morning.. Which was not convenient due to wanting a sleep in. But morning staff were amazing.. was a bit of a maze trying to find reception in the rain.

Lovely location and scenic views from rooms and lounge area. Quiet and serene. Breakfast was nice as well. Great customer service and helpful staff. The fireplace at night in their main lounge area was lovely.

Two bedroom apartment The bathrooms were run down and not very clean. Dusty. Hotel overall seems a bit run down. Main bathroom window opened up into a courtyard of another room section(or staff quarters). The whole apartment windows would steam up when taking a shower as you could not open the bathroom windows that were facing into courtyard. These windows in the main bathroom were low, not tinted properly and did not have shades and lacked privacy. Second bathroom was entirely too small and poorly ventilated. Lots of noise from upstairs of people walking and opening and closing doors at night as our rooms were below their restaurant/conference area. Vents that let out a lot of noise at night. Lots of spiders too .

Great views. Great facilities

The view was amazing… the rainforest and the city… the apartment was homely, and a great size. Apartment 17. The spa was great, my husband had a massage and really enjoyed it. Great options for breakfast also. Will definitely be back

External of the garden spa view apartment looks a little run down. Once you are inside is fantastic but the outside it does look like it could do with a little renovation

Be aware of the road condition before you book.

The view was great

1. The road: It serpentine. Very hard to drive. Then just before we reached the hotel we found the road is closed and we have to go back from the other side of the road. 2. Shower really needs deep cleaning. We did not take a risk to take shower there. 3. Toilet also requires some better cleaning. But looks ok.

We missed the turning to it first, and it was v dark to get there if arriving later. So maybe an extra light or two just near the ditches.

Beautiful but could do better

The view and the birds.. also loved the historical part of the building..

Driveway was so scary and got my anxiety to its top level.. you need to system that allows 1 car at a time, like a sensor for cars and a stop go light, im surprised no one has had a serious accident. Also signed around the place needs updating, not very clear about where to go for reception. Some parts also dated and could do with an update. Bed rolled together in the middle, otherwise comfy.. rather noisy when other guests go past your room or use the stairs, restaurant menu needed more availability of different foods, we went to town both nights as nothing appealed to us. And tv channels were not great, how about having smart TV that people can cast to... we took our laptop but had to go back into town to buy an hdmi cord. Also a table on the deck to go with the chairs would be nice so you can sit out there, also if the TV could tilt, you could benefit sitting on the deck and still watch TV. But the BIGGEST ick for the place was THE DRIVEWAY, so dangerous in my opinion, you could do something better, it was scary when we where trying to leave and had a car coming in the opposite direction down, we had to back down a slim winding drive until we came across a small area we could pull over to to let the other car past..

The restaurant and lounge area was great. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant with exceptional views. Food was really good. The lounge area was inviting and a nice place to relax.

Our room did not have much of a view and we often had cars parked in front of our window. The kitchen lacked essential kitchenware such as a grater and cutting board.

Decor is very tired esp in dining room- bright spot lights, no mood lighting. No fans in rooms- got v warm Washbasins are bizarre shape so frequently splashed down front of you. Shampoo in sachets- fiddly and messy so bought our own
