Home away from home.

What a great place to stay. Staff were friendly, rooms were superb. Lovely little welcome drink on arrival. Will be staying here in the future.

Floors in the room creaked a little, but didn't affect my stay. Was more worried about making too much noise for other guests.

A night...a little bit different.

We loved the quirkiness of the place. Great sitting on the terrace under a roof to protect us from the sun but with open sides to allow the breeze in. Breakfast was fantastic. The very best.

They had thought of most things. Can't think of anything we did not like.

I expected more from something that bills itself as an art hotel - not even close. And anyone that starts vacuuming when the only guest is in the common space is just not aware

Friendly and comfortable

The friendly welcome with a free drink was lovely. The common room was arty and homely. The cooked breakfast was marvellous and cooked to order. The period house was bohemian and eclectic, which we loved. We enjoyed our visit

Comfy and quiet

The location was very quiet, but close to shops and restaurants. My bed was super comfy, and your breakfasts are hand prepared with a nice selection. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. I arrived very late, and I was given clear instructions on how to enter the property.

Quirky accommodation close to Auckland.

Quirky little place to stay. An old house that has been turned into accommodation, with a couple of larger rooms out the back, which is where we stayed. Breakfast was included and was a home cooked meal with a big variety of options to choose from. Quite close to the city. We got an uber into the city on the Saturday night and it cost us $10NZ.

Friendly staff & great location - would stay again

Lovely friendly staff and a warm welcome. The room was nice with a comfy bed, but a little on the snug side. The breakfast was very good. The location great for shops and places to eat, and was handy enough to walk to Eden Park and back for the gig we went to. We would definitely stay again!

Excellent location, quiet but a short walk to bars and restaurants. Very boutique feel. Very strong shower and nice to have wine and beer you could buy if you didn’t want to walk up to the main road.

Great location for Ponsonby restaurants and cafes.

Room was comfy and location was great. Having access to kitchen facilities and a free welcome drink was a nice touch. We love the vibe of Ponsonby so it was in an excellent location for us.

There was building work next door which started at 7:30am so it was quite noisy in the mornings. Hopefully that doesn’t last too long.

A quirky, arty comfortable place to stay not far from the city centre.

It was lovely being in an older quirky individually decorated house, with verandas, leadlights and artworks rather than the usual anonymous look of most hotels. The cooked and/or continental breakfast included was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is in a very good area, with lovely little Tole park nearby and many restaurants and cafes on Ponsonby Road, 5 minutes walk away and on the Inner bus route.

It wasn't quite as luxurious as it sounded on the website and I thought it was rather overpriced, but still very nice. The window rattled or branches of a big shrub outside disturbed my sleep on my first night, but I was able to change rooms and then had no more trouble sleeping.

Position in a well-to-do area on the hill above Auckland central. A 30 minute walk down hill to the city centre. The large communal lounge. The free real coffee facilities.

Breakfast cooked freshly to order Room had all the facilities to cook yourself if needed; with a well stocked mini bar & fridge Lovely secluded garden , which was beautifully maintained.

It’s a lovely place to stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. I would definitely recommend it . It’s close to shops and lots of places to eat and a pleasant walk to the city and harbour.

Perfection

My reality around this experience was one of Wow. I built a Castle here in New Zealand over 34 years which still is a destination. It was voted as third most romantic destination in the world by Airbnb in 2017 . ArtHotel is a bespoke microcosm of loveliness in Auckland and honestly the wee touch of dressing gowns was magical and sums up the experience. Staff were perfect in every respect. Pricing was humble and I will most definitely book again.
