Close to public transport and excellent restaurants in the neighbourhood.
Parking was limited, but this is clearly stated when booking - If you are planning on driving, make sure that you ask for a parking space when you book.

I'm a kiwi living in the USA and have stayed here several times on arrival in NZ and its simple, tasteful, quiet and super clean, it's my go-to place in Auckland. Fridge and coffee amenities in the room and the shower is great after a long day. This time there were 3 adults and we had the larger suite with two rooms and a little deck, and it worked out well. Having designated parking is helpful. Although ultimately, I didn't use it they did offer to hold my suitcases from 8am on the day of check-in as my plane arrived very early.
Every time I come, I have to beg for ice from the kitchen or the bar and only get a couple of cubes. It would be really great if they could sneak in a small ice maker somewhere that guests could access. A list of local amenities would be helpful unless I missed it, supermarket, coffee shops etc.

The hotel features a unique and refined interior design. The rooms are decorated in a vintage style, offering a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.
Some rooms have windows that cannot be opened, and the design of the underground ventilation system reduces comfort, as the air vents are very loud. At night, pillows and heavy objects are needed to suppress the noise. Conversations from the hallway can also be heard inside the room.

Gorgeous decorations, close to shops, our room was away from the restaurant so it was quiet.

I liked the aesthetic of the building, onsite parking and the friendly service
Didn’t like how loud it was had to use ear plugs, the room also needed a deep clean lots of dust on light shades and mirror details, but is an old building with fancy finishings

Shame the restaurant & bar were closed when we stayed. We were unaware of this at time of booking.

Room were a bit snug, but i guess should be expected with it being a convent previously!

This is a boutique hotel in an old convent. It has been restored thoughtfully and is very stylish. There is free parking and it is about 10 mins drive from the city centre. There is a fabulous restaurant in the hotel.
The air conditioning for the rooms is centrally managed. Our room was small and I guess must have cooled down quicker than other rooms as it became very cold and the vent was blowing cold air straight onto us.
Reception closes at 8pm, so at 9:30pm we called the out of hours phone number to see if anything could be done, but no one picked up.
Also, it is worth noting that the restaurant and cocktail bar are owned and managed separately to the hotel. This shouldn’t make any difference for guests but we encountered an issue. We had made a booking for the restaurant and when we checked in to the hotel we mentioned this and also that we were intending to unpack and then head down for a drink before dinner. However, when we came down and went into the bar the barman stated (pretty bluntly) that the bar was closed for a private event and we could not go in. So, long story short it was a disappointing start to what should have been a great evening. Seems like hotel guests who are dining in the restaurant could be accommodated better and perhaps some communication could also be improved.

Only rain head showers, they are not always practical

The vibe was amazing! And don’t get me started on the shower. We will definitely stay here again.

Good location, lobe ambience.
Despite reserving parking 6 months in advance and being given a reserved parking pass, there was no parking spot for us the first night. Creating a really stressful and frustrating experience. Blamed other guests that didn't have a reserved parking pass for parking in our spot, but didn't actually take action to rectify or even arbor to compensate for the stress.

Liked the decor and quirkiness. Staying in a historic building.
The small bar, restaurant on site.
The shower in our room wasn't great - they look good with the copper and rainhead but not that practical.

Loved the beautiful building and curated art that tell the story of the buildings past. The rooms were really comfortable, including a small private courtyard off the room. Will definitely come back.
We would have loved to eat at the restaurant but it was closed for a private event. We will come back another time as have heard great things!
