Fantastic stay

This review is a little late, but that does not reflect how we feel about our stay. It was wonderful! You have the whole place to yourself (you don’t have to share with other guests, that is) which basically means you have your bedroom with en suite bathroom ánd a living room! You do share the rooms with a couple of teddy bears though, which we found delightful. Breakfast is simple but very good and Helen and Roy are the greatest hosts and interesting people - we really enjoyed our chats and as we fell deeply in love with New Zealand, we will be back!

The beautifully restored home and garden are perfection. Heather and Roy have taken hospitality to a new level. Exploring the wonderful array of decor, including Heather's handmade teddies and other creatures, is a delight. Every need or wish has been considered. Everything was wonderful.

Don’t have any second thoughts just go, you won’t regret it

Everything. It was exactly like in the pictures. It was in a nice and quiet area but still within walking distance to restaurants, bus stops and Mount Eden. It was great to start the day with a nice breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, toast and just the perfect cappuccino and not having to go out for it. Tipps were to go and how to get there. Heather and Roy really make you feel welcome. It’s home away from home and for us it was the perfect start for traveling New Zealand.

What a magical experience!! From the time my colleague and I stepped into Heather and Roy's home, we were transported into a fairytale setting. Heather and Roy are the most caring, fun and generous hosts, and we loved hearing more about Heather and Roy's passion - the Bears. Heather's creativity in giving life to the beautiful bespoke Bears has ensured global success and we could appreciate why that is the case. From the outset, we felt spoilt and totally pampered and both Heather and Roy went out of their way to ensure that everything was as comfortable for us to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Roy's prowess as a barista was clearly evident in our early morning coffee treat and heart shaped milk froth.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at a lovely house with warm and accommodating hosts.

Heather and Roy were wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome from the start and catered to all our requests. The house is gorgeous and the room and bathroom were extremely large, comfortable and accommodating. Breakfast was just what we wanted. I would highly recommend The Grange for anyone staying in Auckland.

Inviting and comfortable.

Heather went out of her way to look after us in her beautiful home. The facilities were great. The property is in a wonderful location, not too far from the airport which turned out to be a good thing for us and very convenient is flying in lateish.

Amazingly kind hosts, the perfect stay

Everything. The nicest people we've met. We were during the Auckland flooding and Heather & Roy were kind and helpful and addressed our every need. They were very proactive in looking for ways to make us feel at home. We talked with Roy for hours and Heather showed us the amazing hedgehog she makes. Don't miss out on Roy's coffee.

The best place to stay in Auckland without a doubt!

Staying at the Grange with Heather and Roy was the highlight of my trip to New Zealand (I stayed in two well known hotels prior to my arrival there). The house is stunning - warm and welcoming with many interesting and quirky artifacts. Spacious rooms, reliable Wi-Fi, high quality linens, towels and toiletries as well as everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable (including homemade cake!). Lovely outside space too and located in a quiet residential area within a few minutes walking distance to numerous cafes, restaurants and independent shops plus a supermarket. Eden Park and Mount Eden on the doorstep and an easy journey into central Auckland. Breakfast was fantastic - cereals, fruit, yoghurts, toast, juice and a range of tea and coffee to suit all tastes. All the above would be enough to make anyone return but what makes this place special is the hosts - Heather and Roy are so welcoming and helpful I felt at home immediately. We enjoyed interesting conversations and I was included in a wonderful barbecue one evening with some of their friends and an entertaining Zoom call with some other friends, they also picked me up from town when I returned from a day trip to the west coast and sent me home with a gift. If you intend to visit Auckland then this is the place to stay. Thank you Roy and Heather - you made my visit to Auckland very special and memorable! Best wishes Kelly x
