A dreamy, historic Chicago stay with holiday magic and unforgettable atmosphere, absolutely worth five stars.
The location was unbeatable, but the real magic was inside. The hotels, historic architecture, holiday decor, and PAWS, the iconic dog statue made every corner feel like a moment the lobby fell straight out of a movie and the entire property had that timeless grand Chicago charm.
Honestly, it was too stunning to experience in just one night I wanted more time to explore.

Impressive
I was surprised at how grand the hotel was. It was large and opulent with all of the marble and accessories. It was also a really nice room and a good size. Truthfully I had low expectations being in a less populated south part of the loop, but I was really impressed. The location was absolutely perfect for the Thanksgiving parade. Even with all if the high schoolers and performers staying there, it was quiet on our floor. I never heard anyone else or any noise.

improper charges
They charged us 200 dollars more than the agreed price for a Descends package for tourist passes when in reality upon arrival they had told us it was 200 dollars for insurance and in the end they were going to return the money, but that didn't happen.

We enjoyed our stay.
Size of the room. Liked being given bottles of water upon arrival. The quickness and efficiency of resolving lost key was great!
We had to look out the corner of one window to see a sliver of the lake. Not what I’d call a Lakeview room. I believe I paid extra for a lake view room. Limited lake view room would have given me a better expectation. Would have preferred a walk in shower instead of a tub

The hotel was pretty, but I was offended that a $10 food and beverage credit, as well as a $15 laundry credit per night
Lobby and location
They charged me $25 upfront for a food and laundry credit that was mandatory!!!!! Very rude.

Centrally located for ease off getting around. Waking distance and easy walk to soldier field the main purpose I was there. Room great view of soldier field and lake view. I will return
Resturant was busy after the game but that’s expected.

Probably wouldn’t pick this hotel again.
The property is in a great location. Walkable to museums and Soldier Field. The Hilton is also close to train system. I felt very safe in and around the hotel- even at night. Adding breakfast is completely with the extra money. The breakfast buffet is wonderful.
The building is older, however we knew that when we booked. The elevators feel like they are as old as the building and certain ones only go to certain floors. (I’m sure there is a perfectly good reason for this, but you feel like dingbat at first when you get on an elevator and don’t see your floor as an option.)
Beds in the room need replacing. The room had not been vacuumed well, and there were crumbs all over the floor. We also had the horror of finding a previous guests’ underwear in our bathroom. Shower was ok, but for $400 a night- I expect things to be clean and comfortable.
The $25 “destination” charge is very confusing. It is also quite frustrating when you go to the in-hotel convenience store to use your hotel “credit” purchase a drink off of a shelf and are expected to leave a tip.
Lastly, we had difficulty getting additional linens. I texted a request, called the front desk, stopped at the front desk, and finally just went to the housekeeper on my floor to get things myself.

Mixed feelings
The view from our window.
Our bathroom was nasty, hair was everywhere the sink, toilet and shower was the worse. All they did to correct the problem was give use each $25 credit for the 3 of us in the room, that didnt even cover breakfast which was $35 per person and we were only thiere for 2 nights, they wouldnt comp the first night. To make matter worse they didnt even apply the credit like they said, the day I checked out and looked at my bill was when I had to tell the front desk staff that I had the credit and then it was taken off. I also called corporate to file a formal complaint and they were much nicer about the situation. The hotel was nice and full of history with a great location but your cleaning staff has to do a better job and loyalty customers should be treated better no matter how they booked.

You can get more for the same price.
It is in a perfect location to be around Chicago.
It is definitely old and the price doesn’t worth for what you get. On top of that, they charge for everything. And they are lowkey racist.

Nice but waaay tooo expensive
Great location, beautiful entrance, nice history , 2 bathrooms in the room
Way too expensive, nickel and dime you for everything, rooms need some renovation, had a room reservation but the garage was full so I had to park off property even though I was paying to stay there but not enough room to park(doesn’t seem right out makes sense) , I was told I could leave a day early since I didn’t pay third party for reservation but paid Hilton when I arrived, but found out Hilton was going to still charge me for the extra night they just made it look like I paid twice the amount for the one night(ridiculous)

I Ike the entrance way the staff was pleasant, the valet parking was great but the price was pricey thought the price it was giving was for two.
The room was small the view was horrible the faucet was dripping all night the lighting was horrible and deem the carpet needs cleaning the sink was clogged water drained slow

Not my favorite place to stay in Chicago with family
Queen bed was very small. Not a standard size. Location was amazing, lobby and common areas were beautiful. Room itself was a bit boring and beds werent comfy.
Traveling with 2 kids and 2 adults we got a double queen room and it was a tight squeeze for all of us. Definitely would recommend 2 double rooms with everyone in separate beds. We were only given breakfast for 2 although there were 4 of us and no costs were given up front for additional. Lots of extra fees tacked on at check-in. Beds were not comfortable. rooms were old and dust visible on base trim and windows.

This is a great place for and I like it the first time I stayed here a few years ago but it could’ve been better as they
The location was excellent and I’ve stayed here before and liked it a lot so we came back.
The staff was not helpful. I understand they may have been short staffed. We booked two rooms and did early check in and were informed the rooms were not ready but we were given rooms keys and would be contacted once they were l. We were willing to wait and came back after grabbing lunch. Only one room was ready when we came back at the 3:00 PM regular check in time. We said we’d wait for the other room but will get ready for our event in the one room for now. The employee said she called housekeeping to check if it was ready and that she would contact us. She even tried to offer a standard room but 2 Lakeview rooms were booked for us. It wouldn’t have been fair to the other half of our party to downgrade them. Hours passed and we find the best we could with our party sharing the one room that luckily had two bathrooms to get ready for the concert. We still hadn’t heard back. And I messaged the Hilton app, I called the front desk after an hour and was hung up on. We went to our show after never getting the other room until we came back at 11:00 PM. The employee then gave us a room that was still partial “Lakeview” but after explaining the incident, he said he can only waive the $25 fee but nothing else can be done since we prepaid for the room. We tried asking for a late checkout as compensation the next morning but were once again hung up on or ignored on the chat in the Hilton Honors app.

Great location and beautiful hotel, but service could have been better.
Loved the location. convenient to public transit and walkable distance to museums and shopping.
Staff was friendly but not actually helpful. At check in I was asked if I wanted daily maid service and I said yes. However, I had to ask for maid service almost everyday in order to get fresh towels and new supplies. Also, the bed was lumpy and it was hard on my back for a 9 night stay.

Terrible
Location
We didn’t get the room we paid for, it was dirty, and smelled of cigarettes . The beds were not queen size. We had to had to move to a different room and this room didn’t have air conditioning that was functioning so we had to wait over an hour for someone to speak with us and set up maintenance. The refrigerator also did not work so we were unable to keep call our drinks and save our expensive meals from our dinner out.

Nice place overpriced parking!!!!
Close to all the activities we had planned.
The one chair in the otherwise pristine room looked like it came out of a very used office? It was worn and gross! Room 1161

It was a horrible experience.
I liked the location of the hotel.
The place had bugs, dirty bed and it was mold in the shower. They said they were to book to bring replacement bedding and they uncharged me when I got there on top of the regular price. The staff just didn’t want to help.

Great location, but not great hotel room for the cost.
The lobby and restaurants on site are great and the location of the hotel is hard to beat
We stayed in a single king bed room and it was incredibly dingy and did not meet expectation for the price. The room was dated, paint chipping/peeling, the AC was nonfunctional for the first several hours of our stay, and it seemed like the room was not ready for a guest as the pillow cases were not on the pillows, just laid on the bed, and there was only one towel and no other linens. For the price, I expected much better.

Try elsewhere unless you want the brand.
Decent location on the south side of Michigan ave.
Front Desk Check-in lady was quite unfriendly and I had to come back several times since she forgot a few items for my check-in. I felt like she was doing me a favor by just checking me into the hotel. Friendlier staff at check-in would be better for the hotel.

Small room, too expensive
We have stayed here many times over the years. It is always clean. The staff is top notch and the breakfast is great but expensive. This time around we got a room that had a king bed and maybe 2 ft on each side of the bed all around and that was the entire room. I guess I should have paid more attention to the square footage when booking but for over $300 a night a never would have guessed we would have been sleeping in a walk in closet. It was very claustrophobic. We have found some other places for over $100 a night cheaper. We found this hotel when we went to Chicago for our anniversary and it does hold a special place in our heart, but it’s just getting to be too expensive for what you get.

It should be better
The location is perfect, we got a room with nice view to the park. what I like it was that we could open the windows a bit to have fresh air into the room.
For an expensive hotel like this the rooms should be cleaner, we found woman’s hair in the bathtub. Also the shower should work properly.

Avoid at all costs.
Proximity to a concert
Booking.com failed to send property our details or confirm the room. An hour was spent by the hotel trying to locate us. Then was provided a non equivalent room. Property failed to de feather room after confirming they would. At 11 pm at night was told that no staff would be available to locate pillows to sleep on and advised to roll up towels for pillows to avoid severe allergic reactions. Staff were rude and unhelpful except for one night manager who did offer to attempt to locate pillows at midnight. Room was old. Out dated. Was a hospitality suite room with Murphy bed and bedding was frayed and holey. All for 1000/ night.
