There were alot of things broken in the room the such as the ceiling fan, and the iron board. The linen sheets were dingy not super white and crisp.

Comfortable and aesthetically appealing

The suite was beautiful, comfortable, and fairly reasonable in price considering its location. We loved the layout and overall design. Our room was fairly quiet even with the L train close by. Breakfast was good, and it was great having a full kitchenette. We’d definitely stay here again!

Homewood Suites was the cherry on top of a wonderful two days in Chicago.

Most amazing location. Lovely corner room, spacious. Had everything we needed. 15 min walk to the Shedd Aquarium. Homewood Suites will be our go to Chicago Hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was nice, and there is also a fantastic (expensive) diner across the street. Hotel Asian restaurant was also great.

The air conditioning unit in the room was as loud as the train going by. It literally roared. The first room we were put in, the entire panel of the air conditioner was off. (They immediately changed our room). But, if you are sound sensitive, this might not be the place for you. Perhaps it was because we had a corner room. We slept right thru it, but needs to be mentioned.

I loved it.

The location was perfect. We skipped the breakfast offered and decided to eat out. The valets were amazing. They were patient with me when they were super busy. And the lady at the check in desk was very nice. I would definitely stay there again. The room was spacious with an amazing view.

The only thing I had a slight issue with was the bed sheet was stained and the room could use a good dusting. My kids and I slept on top of the blanket because of the dirty sheet. I didn't say anything mostly cause I didn't want to make the hotel staff angry and we only stayed one night. I've never traveled that far before so I didn't know what to expect with the people.

The property is close to a lot of things. The location is great!

The beds were uncomfortable, the breakfast was bland and repetitive and our room only was cleaned once despite us being there for 7 days. It was overpriced for what we experienced. We chose Homewoods because we have stayed at other locations in the country and always had a good experience. This one was the worst.

All the PLASTIC plates/bowls/cups etc at breakfast was maddening! So terrible environmentally unfriendly! How is the Hilton allowed to be operating like this in Chicago? There must be rules against single use plastic? Or if not, Hilton needs to do better! Each room has china (non plastic) dish ware, and dishwashers. Why can’t the breakfast room do similarly? I stayed in this same hotel 3 years ago and made the same complaint. But I assume Hilton’s environmental policy (and Chicago’s) would have changed since then. Apparently not.

Overcharged $750+ beyond confirmed rate, no explanation—disrupted trip, lack of transparency

The breakfast area is small for the number of guests, it gets very crowded, and it is often difficult to find a table. There is also a lack of healthier breakfast options such as fruit and cheese.

My stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton - Chicago Downtown South Loop, from March 23 to 31, 2025, was marked by a highly frustrating experience that seriously impacted my travel plans. I booked the stay through Booking.com, with a total amount clearly stated as USD 1,406.63 (USD 1,198.15 + USD 208.48 in taxes). However, upon arrival at the hotel, I was unexpectedly charged USD 2,171.92 (USD 1,850.00 + USD 321.92 in taxes), which is USD 765.29 more than the confirmed reservation amount. This was done with no prior notice or clear explanation from the hotel. Moreover, the amount actually charged to my credit card was even higher: USD 2,425.43. I was told the difference of USD 253.51 was a damage deposit, yet my booking confirmation clearly states a deposit of only USD 75.00 – another failure to honor the agreed terms. This unexpected overcharge significantly impacted my budget and forced me to cancel several planned activities during my trip. I contacted Booking.com immediately on the day of check-in, but as of now, I have not received a satisfactory response or resolution. I expected much more transparency and professionalism from a Hilton-branded hotel. Unfortunately, this situation negatively affected my entire stay in Chicago.

Beautiful room/view; lacks in what's promised.

The room was beautiful and just big enough. The bed was somewhat comfortable, certainly nothing luxury. The heater in our room was extremely loud and jolted when it kicked on and off, to the point that it woke me up each night. The shower also dripped often which I normally wouldn't even notice but because they've installed metal bars over the shower drains, it clings every time it drips. The 8th floor was supposed to have outdoor common areas to go outside and enjoy the weather and get fresh air, but the doors were locked constantly. I asked the front desk about it the first night of our stay and they said they were supposed to be open each day and it must have been a mistake that they were left locked. I heard him talking with housekeeping about it but nothing was done and there was no access to the outside common areas, which was super disappointing as this was a draw to this hotel vs others. The hot tub was also filthy. No one was skimming or cleaning it throughout the day and literal dirt and scum was stuck on the sides by Sunday morning. The water was so murky and dirty in both the hot tub and the pool. All of that aside, the room was adequate and the staff was very nice, but the rest was just disappointing.

Very good hotel at Downtown Southloop Chicago

I stayed for 7 days for a business trip. Overall, there were no such issues with my stay. I would strongly recommend staying in this hotel. Pro: 1) Equipped with a small kitchen (including a big fridge, induction oven, kitchenware, and micro oven) 2) Great breakfast with variations 3) Great view from my 16th-floor room 4) Spacious and clean room 5) Good wifi speed

Cons: 1) The only con is the housekeeping is done once in three days. Despite of request, they refused to clean the room before their schedule. 2) Toiletries may not be sufficient for three days---but despite request at the reception they reused to provide before housekeeping schedule on every 3rd day

The good and bad kind of canceled each other out so it was just eh.

The room was really nice and clean and the location was perfect.

It took over an hour to get checked into our room even though we got there when check in time started. Also the phones in the room didn’t work and the Netflix that was listed as an amenity also didn’t work. Also it just seemed really disorganized. Like when we went for break fast in the morning we had no clue where it was and there were no signs or anything for it.
