Wonderful hotel!

Everything was fantastic!! The location, the architecture, the interior design. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The room was clean and beautiful. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I hope this hotel flourishes because I’d definitely stay here again!

I liked everything. There were minor things cleaning-wise: the cleaning lady once plugged off our laptop (it was supposed to continue charging and running) and threw away our plastic utensils twice (they were clean and lying on the side table and we planned to use them). But she did a great job cleaning and it’s not a big deal. Everything was fantastic.

Joyce at the front desk was very inviting and friendly. Started off with a great experience, from there I was overall satisfied with everything else the hotel offered.

Perfect.

My stay at Hotel Blake was absolutely amazing!! This hotel was located centrally, close to public transport, restaurants, and convenience stores. All without being right in the thick of the touristic atmosphere. The location was perfect for walks, with only a 10 to 15 minutes walk to Millennium Park. Lastly, I can leave a review without praising the amazing staff. From the moment I arrived each and everyone of the staff I met were nothing but lovely!! So warm and genuine you’ll feel right at home. I’ll definitely be returning when next in Chicago.

We wanted to stay there for our anniversary. We had a very pleasant stay!

The long-time concierge, Showtime, is just delightful and helpful. We appreciate getting the room where we asked for it. It was quiet in the room. The room had everything we needed. Cafe Meli is a fortunate neighbor! Morning coffee available is nice.

The bathroom door runs into the toilet. We are both 6 feet tall. The amenities in the bathroom are nice, but it is cramped.

We've stayed many times at The Blake. The room is large and comfy, we love the 2 sinks in the bathroom and the walk-in shower. The staff is also exceptional.

The room was a bit warm but it was our fault for not alerting the staff.

Hotel Drake is a great value

Our room was spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The HVAC worked well and bathroom was roomy. All the staff from housekeepers to front desk were great. We found the location convenient to good restaurants and transit stops. Even the lobby coffee was really good! Don't miss the Deco Cafe and the Winter Garden of the Harold Washington Library(9th floor). The Meli Cafe, off the lobby, was excellent. A really varied menu had something for everybody. All in all Hotel Drake is an exceptional value.

It was even better than the previous time, and we plan on coming back!

We really appreciated Eric (receptionist upon arrival) as well as the staff taking care of the valet parking and the luggage hold. We already had been at the Blake Hotel earlier this year and thus knew about the proximity of the location of our appointment and how easy it was to get there walking. Also love the Meli Restaurant right beside the hotel.

Excellent and Comfortable

The hotel is in an excellent location in close proximity to shops, restaurants and transport services. The hotel staff are fantastic! They’re very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very spacious and clean with a nice view. My overall stay was comfortable.

I would’ve liked it if they allowed food delivery persons to deliver directly to the room, but that wasn’t a major issue and it did not affect my stay.

Location within the location could make or break your vacation

We love this location. There are some restaurants very close that are really great. We enjoy the printer's row history and repurposed buildings.

The first night was really a problem. The construction that we were warned about ahead of time was much worse than it had ever been before. We have stayed during this construction a couple of times before with little more than a little inconvenient noise during the day. This time, however, there was epoxy or some other industrial sealant that permeated our room. I called the front desk, they put me through to a manager's voicemail. I was called back. We were moved to a 9th floor room on the opposite side of the hotel. We couldn't smell the epoxy up that high. We went out and got fresh air. When we went back into the hotel at about 7:30pm, we went to bed. I was up vomiting at 11pm and 3am. I was told that the epoxy was not toxic, but most of the staff were wearing masks. I spent most of Saturday recooperating in bed, which is not like me at all. I usually have numerous things on the schedule daily when I am in Chicago. The good news is that part of the construction appears to be completed. Call the property ahead if you are at all affected by industrial chemicals.

The staff was amazing and so friendly. The bed was very comfortable.

The bathroom needed to be cleaned thoroughly. There was hair in the shower from another guest and the light in the bathroom was very dim. So I can see why a lot of cleanliness would be missed. But that is not okay.

We had a nice and comfortable stay, staff was very friendly and the hotel was well kept and very clean.

The location was perfect. Lots of good options to eat out literally steps from the hotel. If you are running the marathon, it is just a few mins walk from Grant Park, which is perfect for race day. Room has a fridge with freezer, bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. It was a great stay and I would definitely return.

This would have been a very good hotel if the bathroom fixtures had been more carefully considered.

Large comfortable rooms. Stylish with a connection to the history of the property.

The shower was style over function:: the fixtures looked good, but it performed poorly. At this price point a hand-held shower wand should be a given. The overhead shower was fine for washing hair, and that’s just about it.

Great stay, very friendly and welcoming staff.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, well appointed, comfortable and very clean. There were a few nice eating establishments close by, in particular the Cafe Deko at which we stopped for breakfast.

There was some repair work being done on the building which partially blocked the entrance but we were advised about this by the hotel management ahead of time.

The room was beautiful. It was in a great location, very walkable to everything. There were plenty of restaurants and mini marts if we needed anything and didn’t want to take a cab. Staff was very friendly and greeted us every time we came or went.

The shower head was a little difficult to use. The service at the connected restaurant was very slow but I’m not sure if they are owned by the same people.

The room was super comfy and spacious.

The room and bathroom were huge and the bed was comfy. It was close to most attractions without being in the middle of all the tourists. The L was just steps away.

The air conditioner in our room rattled sporadically and often. If it was a regular, even rattle it would have been fine - just white noise. Listening and anticipating the rattle was a little annoying when you were trying to get to sleep. We didn't complain about it since it really wasn't an issue most of the time and it looked like they had tried to alleviate the rattle by wedging the side of the vent. I could see others having issues with road noise, but we live on a main road at home, so it was not an issue for us.

Convenient location and satisfactory amenities

This hotel is located near multiple train and bus stops. It is also walkable to Millennium and Grant Parks. The room was comfortable and had the amenities we needed.

The pillows were awful. We didn't find out until our last morning that there was complimentary coffee and ice water available in the secondary lobby.

Lovely room!

The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was lovely! Near the train station, so a great location. Very comfortable bed! Spacious and cool decor, with some historical facts in the border paper. We're usually hesitant to give perfect scores, but this place is pretty amazing! There's a Giordano's pizza 🍕 and some sandwich shops a few blocks away, as well.

The only thing I can think of was that the entry door was hard to find due to building construction. But they sent a message about it prior to our stay.

Flew from Anchorage overnight and arrived at Hotel at about 9:30am - Expected to leave our bags, but exceptional service from Reception advised that the room was available and we could check in NOW - that never happens. Location was an easy walk to explore the fantastic city of Chicago which had a great vibe.
