Lovely stay at the Marquis.

Fabulous accommodation, lovely and clean and so comfortable well located near public transport, not too far from the Riverwalk and downtown.

There are ' Help us to save the planet' notices in the rooms saying that your towels will only be swopped for clean if you leave them on the floor. We hung our towels every day but still got new ones each time. Eventually they were piled up in the cupboard, which means they will all be washed again. How is that saving the planet?

Booking.com ..... I'll never use your service again. YOU charged my debit card and gave the hotel a crap refillable card that didnt work so I got charged twice and it locked up my account on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Thank you for utterly ruining my life booking.

Great stay close to Soldier Field

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis when we visited for a concert at Soldier Field, and it was a great place. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. We were close enough to be able to walk back after the show, which was very convenient. Great hotel bar with nice cocktails.

The only thing we noticed was that the chairs down in the bar area were absolutely filthy. Like it’s time to replace them, it’s too late for cleaning to resolve it.

It was fine for me to sleep there at night, which was the whole point; however, missing amenities.

I liked the location near the conference room and the public transportation. The room was always clean when I got back. Bed was comfortable.

Wifi was never consistent. I don't know if this is because I had to become a member, but the wifi still wouldn't work even after dealing with tech support. I also almost was tricked into spending $6 for a water, which I am glad I saw the tag on the cap before opening it. Still put me on edge before using anything in the room.

Room was nice but they charged me Twice

At checkout the staff refused to recognize my pre payment through Booking.com and made me pay for the room in full a 2nd time. It took 3 phone calls, a negative review on their site and multiple weeks until I got the 2nd payment refunded back to my card.

Excellent all around, I'd go back in the future.

Staff was excellent all around, clean room, had the lakeside view so that was beautiful/relaxing to look out. Ice machine was close. Quiet. Close to concert, so walked vs waiting for a ride.

I'm used to being able to just grab a luggage cart myself, load myself, etc., but wasn't able. Don't get me wrong, they were excellent-I'm just used to doing it all myself. Room more expensive than Im used to, but it was close enough to concert, and had a beautiful view, so I splurged.

It was clean and well maintained.

The staff at the hotel restaurant and bar were horrible! Very slow. And we had an issue with one of our orders, and the waitress was very dismissive. I had to have a manager fix the situation. The manager was very pleasant and helpful. The staff, not at all! The bartender also was very rude.

Cost, made a room reservation for a king suite and was told they were all out of those rooms, was given a 2 queen room. I thought that was why I made a reservation months in advance. To get the room I requested.

The staff was wonderful. They had to solve multiple problems with my room on a daily basis

To many things in my room did not work. And, I needed help to get in my room multiple times every day. The menus were not tempting. Only, two dinner options were available for room service - the same every day! Meals were not properly cooked. The walk is too far from the convention center!

Cancelled Our Room

We got there to check in, and they had cancelled my room. There were “tough decisions” that needed to be made, and we got screwed. They paid for a night at another hotel two miles away, but being at that first location was the main reason we went to Chicago for a convention. They gave me $50 for an uber. Going back and forth to the convention was wayyyy more for the weekend. Booking.com and the hotel screwed us.

Great Place to stay

I arrived early and they were kind and accommodated me with an early check-in - the staff was very kind. The rooms were lovely and clean and the bed was so comfy. Loved the reading sofa by the room window.

It is an upscale hotel - it was weird that that they charge extra for wifi in the room- but if you sign up for Mariott rewards they comp the wifi charge

I went to Chicago to run my first marathon and the breakfast wasn’t included so I had to bring my food. In addition the lady who was in the cafeteria at 5:00am was so rude, her name is Juliya or something like this… She looks like uncomfortable with her job
