It was great stay in a very clean, comfortable room with friendly staff.

They didn't provide breakfast however there was a restaurant nearby where we had a good breakfast. We liked the friendliest and professionalism of the staff. Milika the day receptionist was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and recently renovated.

We had 2 rooms but in my room apart from the shaving mirror in the bathroom there was no other mirror. It would have been great if they provided breakfast. It

I’m trying to think of positives and struggling. The shower was nice.

The best description I could use is weird. Wetherspoons carpets, aged corridors, a general feeling of being run down. Microwave in the bedroom 🤷🏼‍♀️ The heating wouldn’t work on a cold evening. There was little soundproofing. I got the impression that the hotel may provide temporary accommodation. Wouldn’t stay again.

Very enjoyable stay at a very reasonable price.

The room I stayed in was wonderful. It was warm and comfortable with facilities (fridge/freezer, Russell Hobbs microwave, etc.) far in excess of what I expected for the very reasonable price I paid. It was immaculately clean, as was the en-suite. The blind covering the window provided an almost total blackout, making sleeping easy at any time of day. The free wi-fi worked perfectly. There's a bus stop directly outside which delivers you into the city centre in about five minutes. All staff were friendly and helpful. This is easily one of the best hotels I've stopped in. Highly recommended.

I regret booking this hotel. The room was in terrible condition. I found bed bugs and ended up with bites, which is completely unacceptable. The TV didn’t even work, adding to the disappointment. This is exactly what happens when you go for the cheapest option, and I learned my lesson the hard way.

Long weekend in Coventry

Close proximity to the city centre - yet located on a fairly quiet stretch of road, helpful and friendly staff, spacious yet cosy (and clean) room plus a comfortable bed for a great night's sleep. Bathroom was spotless and shower worked a treat 🙂

Ideal place to start for Coventry city centre

Old fashioned hotel right in the centre of Coventry. Room was large, with fridge and microwave, fan, nice bath/shower. Reception staff (esp Helen) were super friendly and helpful and that really made the stay. Short walk into town, past the cut shops in the canal basin. Free parking. Great value. Would definitely use again.

Great budget priced hotel close to Coventry city centre.

Everything about Merrick was excellent especially considering the cost. Upon arrival the reception was both welcoming helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable even including a tower fan fridge and microwave. Towels were changed daily. Plenty of onsite free parking. Room was less than a 10 minute walk from the centre of Coventry. I would highly recommend as a fabulous hotel for a city centre break. We will definitely use again.

Would have been good to have a breakfast option but receptionist told us about an excellent little cafe only 3 or 4 minutes walk away. Lift would have been a nice addition but I suppose it was only one floor. Struggling really to find any bad points.

The location of the room in noisy side of the building, trucks, humans talking on their phones as they walk on the road, etc Television not working after batteries changed. Otherwise I had a lovely stay.

Top Notch in every aspect

Personalised staff service. Helen, Clifford, and Housekeeper were super helpful, kind, and extremely accommodating. Super close to city centre with attractions and restaurants. Rooms were clean, serviced, had all we needed.

Well priced, good clean accommodation within a short walk of the marina where you can get an excellent breakfast from 0830. Staff could not do enough to help. Thanks for the extra bottles of water. They are investing heavily in the lodge and I look forward to seeing the progress on our next stay.

The worst hotel experience I have had.

Nothing

My double room was not available so they gave me a single. The shower in the room did not work properly with intermittent water pressure but only on the hottest temperature. The bed linen was not clean and when I asked for fresh linen I was given just one sheet and one pillow case. I now travel for my job and this is the worst experience I have had in the two years I have been on the road.

Lovely hotel comfortable beds, very clean lovely big room with fridge microwave tea coffee Bathroom had shower and bath beautifully clean with toiletries which was a nice touch Staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful Nice and quiet area slept well Definitely stay again

Great Stay Fabulous Location and Value for Money

Locations were fab a few mins walk to town centre and attractions and if in car a great base for visiting the whole area, we went to many places, stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa etc all very close, staff very helpful and friendly, room had all you needed, kettle, microwave and fridge (perhaps a toaster would be nice, but that could be a fire hazard), our room was modernised and spacious. Corridors, etc still dated but quite homely too

Breakfast options would have been nice, it did say at the time of booking this could be bought, but there were none, was not too much of an issue, but it would be nice to have

Lovely clean and comforable room at a great price

I booked on the day required and arrived late in the evening. I was welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who checked me in and gave me some information about places to eat. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I had a great night sleep, which is most important for the traveling man. Would be happy to return on my next trip to the location
