Would I stay again?

The breakfast was good and breakfast staff were attentive

The whole hotel smelled of smoke. My room was on a floor with non smoking rooms so I thought it wasn’t that bad but when you had windows open, the smell came in from guests outside the hotel smoking and my balcony had an ashtray. Smokers always think it doesn’t smell but it lingers. My friends floor and room though smelled of smoke The reception staff were rude. They kept my bag but made a big issue that I arrived early even though I just left my bag and wasn’t expecting to check in. But was given the key. Again my friends had bigger problems with reception about parking and getting in, as the reception is only manned in the morning. They were adamant that information was sent, but both my friend and I didn’t receive any. I was just lucky I was there before noon. And understandably the receptionist wouldn’t give me the key for my friend’s room as it was a separate booking. But that would have saved a lot of hassle

A clean, convenient hotel for a stopover.

The hotel was fairly close to the train station. The automatic key box worked without problem. There was a fridge with free bottles of water and beer (!) in the room and an electric kettle with tea and coffee.

The location was in a residential area far from the city centre.

We had a family room and it was very clean and enough space for the 3 of us. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, had a nice variety and was tasty. Free wifi was great and the lift was a life-saver as we had a lot of luggage.

It was very hot in Karlsruhe when we were there and there is a fan provided but it doesnt help all that much to cool the room down. If the hotel had portable air-conditioners for rental, we would have definitely rented one.

Pleasant stay in beautiful Karlsruhe

I liked that the location is very close to the central station and in a quiet cozy neighborhood. The hotel itself was also great and comfy. I was surprised that they had breakfast included, taking affordable prices into account. The bathroom with a shower was spacious and tidy, the room was a bit old fashioned but homely. The room even had a mini-bar-style fridge with a couple of bottles of free cooled drinks.

The bed was a bit creaky and the kettle didn't have a filter but I simply don't have anything serious to write about in the cons section.

Hotel Elite is over priced. It is far from shops for late evening arrivals. All v unfriendly

Breakfast is ok. Not good for vegan and non-meat. No toaster that I could. Coffee machine needed emptied but when I informed reception, I got a very grumpy response from chap who barked ‘there are jugs of coffee on the tables’. As there was no staff in breakfast room not sure how guests are meant to know this as no cups on tables. ´

I specifically asked if I might have a double bed when booking as site suggests it can accommodate such requests. My first night was paid by an organisation that booked me a single room. When I asked grumpy chap about moving for second night (booked at high rate via Booking com) to room with double bed, as promised online, he said rudely sorry we are full. As the breakfast room had only two people each morning I do not believe this statement and told him so. Added to this on my first morning after a long journey my room door was opened before 8:00 am by the lady cleaning rooms with no knock in advance and an expectation that I might not be sleeping there. Finally when you arrive in the evening you get your key from an outside box with no human reception!

Very good

Nice clean acommodation, we were here for one night sleep returning from France and it was sufficient. Very nice surprise was breakfast which was amazing and very various. Definitely worth for price.

I can’t review location as we didn’t go anywhere but it didn’t seem to be too far away from the city centre. Minus was that our room was facing inner courtyard which was noisy and you had to keep shades down all the time if you didn’t want to have people from the other building looking into your room:)

Great stay, I would book it again if visiting Karlsruhe.

Very quiet location, conveniently in between train station and city center, clean room and nice breakfast. Convenient check-in and check-out. Parking spot was relatively easy to find.

I think breakfast ended at 9am and would be nice to have it extended to say 9:30am.

A very comfortable stay in this excellent unpretentious hotel.

I had room 405 which was a lovely big, light and spacious room. There was an air conditioner. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The shower was excellent with a detachable head and good flow even though the room was on the top floor so no water pressure problems. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

The only downfall was the soap was empty on the sink and was not refilled on my second day.

Excellent budget option in a surprisingly interesting city

This is a superb hotel on a quiet residential street within a fifteen minute walk from Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof. I only stayed the one night, but I certainly rued the missed opportunity to stay longer. Check in via the key safe on the outside of the building was swift & painless. The room I had (room 111) was very spacious, the double bed incredibly comfortable (by far the best night's sleep I had on the entire ten night stay in Germany), and the tower fan provided some much needed relief from the intense heat of the time. I was also impressed by the free mini bar offering a selection of chilled beer, Coca-Cola Zero & water. The highlight for me has to be the included breakfast buffet, which offered a vast array of cereals, yoghurts, cheese, ham, as well as cooked foods - Nürnberger sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, and even ćevapčići, as well as various teas, coffees, and fruit juices. I have made a mental note to stay here the next time I am coming through this area of Germany. An excellent experience!

The only slight disappointment was the fact that the orange juice on the breakfast buffet was, in fact, orange juice drink, i.e. orange juice mixed with water. I would have preferred pure orange juice.
