The concept is super cool. The beds are comfortable. The facilities were good. Lockers, bed linen and towels were provided
The access to the place to leave luggage when you arrive early is very difficult. The hotel doesn't have 24 hours reception.

Overall, it served its purpose as a capsule hotel in a convenient central location. At this price point, it's hard to beat the value, you're paying for a compact, functional pod to crash in without breaking your pocket, and the spot is super accessible if you're exploring the city on foot or by public transport. What stood out positively was the effort put into cleanliness. The two cleaning staff, a gentleman and a lady, were clearly working hard to keep things tidy, wiping down the bathrooms and common areas during the day, which made the whole place feel more welcoming than you'd expect. The capsules themselves were snug but private, with everything you need for a restful sleep, the doors are magnetic and do not give the feeling of being safe, but the offer lockers.
On the flip side, the reception team came across as pretty unfriendly, which I suspect is due to the high volume of guests they handle and the mix of short-term visitors like me alongside long-term stayers. It created a bit of a cliquey vibe, with some regulars seemingly having claimed spots in the common areas, making it feel a tad territorial. The layout is another minor hassle: there are two main rooms, each with its own bathroom, but they're gender-separated (one male, one female). If you end up in the room with the female bathroom, you have to trek all the way to the other side for access, not ideal. Noise wasn't an issue during the week, but on Friday and Saturday nights, the bar downstairs cranks up the music pretty loud, which could disrupt light sleepers.

silent, organized
Bed is terrible 3 cm thick foam. When you lay down, it's like no bed at all means you sleep on the floor.

The best thing about this hostel is the location (very central), but don't expect to find a parking spot nearby. WIFI was good.
The entrance is difficult to find, then it's also difficult to find the capsule room (I went up and down the stairs several times). There's practically no staff, and the only time I saw someone like an owner was when an apparently illegal person was scolded at and kicked out of the hostel. I was not able to lock my capsule, so I didn't understood why there was even a "lock" sign and a key card provided. Inside the capsule, several things did not work properly, the TV did not work at all. The tables and the floor could be a bit cleaner.

Capsule concept itself was great. Helped with light & noise from others. Spacious, secure lockers were of great help. Kitchen truly was fully equipped with fridge, freezer, and cabinet space, plus equipment & dishwasher. The shower/bathroom was clean & even had some stocked shampoo (not high quality, but still!). Free espresso machine in the morning was especially nice, especially for the fairly low price.
There were a few pieces inside my capsule which did not work (the fan & some of the ports). A guide for how to work all the buttons/features inside the capsule would have been immensely helpful.

Second time I was here -- the beds are comfy and have a unique vibe that I really liked. It has a sense of coziness and safety to it. The "space" vibe in particular and the closed space might not be for everyone but as an autistic person I really found it nice.
First time I was here, the bathrooms were mixed but now they were seperate which makes me feel something happened to force the change and I wish people could be better as to make everyone comfortbale and feel safe. As for the pods -- I wish they were a bit more soundproof but it didn't impact my ability to sleep.

My booking was canceled by then owner at 18:00, because apparently I was late for my check in. I had already checked in online and also the hotel is called 24/7, so how does that make sense? It looked dirty He also told me he called me to let me know, but he didn't. He said maybe he had bad reception.
He also offered to find a new place for me, but of course that was twice as expensive.
I was also told by the hotel which I ended up staying in, that many people had come that day and the day before in because the same had happened to them.

I felt bad for them! but after a long flight and arriving at the hotel their electrics were off, so they did provide an alternative hotel which was good 😊 fifteen mins walk
Never got to see it! As the electric was down... Was given another hotel which was good. The man on reception at 24/7 looked so annoyed at the situation he was in. I had to ask for a receipt and proof! I did not just want to go to a hotel and not have proof! But other than that the hotel Zi was proved and very good thank you!

Cheap accommodation. Clever concept.
I received first a box that was used, and I got access to the locker of a person that had their personal belongings inside. There is not safety insurance that what is in the locker is kept safe.
The boxes are not comfortable and noisy.

Very central location, 24/7 access, hostel itself is peaceful (barring loud music from the neighbouring pub)
It’s located on top of a loud pub with booming music until the early hours of the morning.

Very unique beds, I always pretend I’m an astronaut when I stay here, would suit someone for a few days or so, who needed a desk to work at. Kitchen is nice, bathroom very clean, friendly staff, nice atmosphere
Most hostels seem reluctant to take cash these days which can be an issue

Great value for money. If you only need to spend a couple of nights this is very good option. This is best if your main goal is to explore city and you only need to spend the night.
Unfortunately my locker was broken and I could not lock my stuff. But this is not a problem if you are backpacking like I did. You can just sleep with your backpack.

Excellent location. Staff are there to help if you need it. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen is available for all tenants.
Capsule can get quite hot as the AC/Fan didn't work or is not strong enough

It was the worst time I spend in a Hotel in my whole life. Actually it is a Hostel disguished of a Hotel. Following the first pictures you might think it is a place of SINGLE ROOMS sharing kitchen and pronably toilet, but actually is a cumulation of absolutely uncomfy and suffocating capsules with a bed smaller than kid size. They just comunicate with the guest by emails, what I found like a problem cause no everyone is able to check the email in the phone always. There is not a person in the reception, everything is managed by a machine in the reception and calling by phone to the staff by the own phone of the person, what I found absolutelly impersonal!. The beds are absolutely not comfy and of course not able for claustrophobic people. The toilets and dushes are shared by men and women, also very few and not clean for the amount of beds they have. They also promisse bathroom products, but what they have is just used bottles of liquid soap used of course for other people. The breakfast is fixed in amount, resummed to a sandwich, 2 pieces of sweet bread, orange juice and the chance of taking a coffe by a coin of the machine. They sent me an email telling me the password of the hardbox for getting the coin for the breakfast next day, think that I didn't agree completely because I did not have the chance of looking every moment a new email in my phone. Inmediately I came to the Hotel I didn't feel good with all the system and the accomodations, so I call the staff for comunicating my situation and they were absolutely rude saying that they can't do nothing cause I already paid and it was my fault for booking without "reading completely" what they offer. I'm sorry, but I paid for a Hotel Room, not for a capsule in a room shared with more people. I'm absolutely dissapointed with this experience.

Very clean & well managed. You can tell there is care & respect for guests. Within a neighborhood with quick food & large 24/7 supermarket. Easy walk to anywhere in city. Overnight parking garage 1-2 blocks away for Eur 12.
Capsules are stacked against each other & not the most sound proof. So any late night/early morning movements & coming/goings around wakes you sometimes.

Self check in was very handy
The ‘pods’ were a new experience for me. Found them a little claustrophobic.

The room was great and we got breakfast and coffee delivered to our room.

The location is extremely central and convenient
The pod gets ridiculously hot once you are in it and the ventilation system is non-existent. It starts becoming a sauna very fast

Location was near the center and shops and restaurants were easy to access.
Too loud music from the pub under. We could barely sleep.

It was an amazing experience inside the capsule, the owner is a good person.
Everything was fine.

Great hostel. A very interesting design, the capsules have everything convenient. Inside it, you can use a fan, a laptop table, a mirror, lights, reading lamps, charge your phone, listen to music and much more. In the corridor there is air conditioning, fitting room, desks, a personal locker. Capsules, toilets and showers are clean. There is WiFi on the territory. The staff are responsive and friendly, self check-in and check-out are very easy and fast. The hostel is near from the underground and tram station.
The only problem may arise - noise coming from outside, in particular on weekends because of clubs near.

Simple pod beds with basic amenities for those traveling on a budget, or just need a bed for a few hours of sleep. For the price, perfectly adequate. The shared kitchen had plenty of amenities, free water and vending machines for essentials.
Unstaffed check-in, only one check-in terminal which made check-in slow because the guests ahead were confused by the process. Bit hot in the pods, with seemingly only a fan to help cool.

Very good, they also provide free breakfast, I have a good time here, cosy and cheap.

Everything (except capsule lenght and headphones) was good: Bed was comfortabe, capsule was cool, pillow was big and semi hard. Breakfast was OK (an option for regular/vegeterian toast + 2 sweet breads/waffels + juice). As I understand the location was the most central you could wish (arrived late, left early- couldn't verify), that's good. To sum it up: very good value for the price (approx. 45 eur). Would use hotel again.
Bed was (almoust) too short- I am 189cm and I think inside of the capsule was 200cm, but I wished capsules were 10cm longer. Headphones were broken in the capsule (but I guess usually people use their own).

The location is pretty much in the heart of Karlsruhe. That's about all the positives I can say.
Dusty capsules, not sound proof at all, all the electronics inside the capsules were busted, the capsules shake whenever someone moves anywhere near them, there is a blue light that can't turned off...

The location was terrific and even though the first time at a capsule accommodation I found it tremendous!
I realized on my second day into my booking that my locker was actually not locking properly

The bed was very good, the capsule was clean and the night was peaceful and quiet
The code for the entry to the building was not correct so I had to call the contact person to get the correct code.

The guy running reception and bringing breakfast to our door was very accomadating and helpful with questions and directs. Check in was easy as well as the check out. Would stay here. The room with private bathroom is very nice. Is the size of a small apartment 😁

I particularly liked the fact that I had my own wardrobe (Schrank) that was really spacious. I could easily fit in my luggage, my clothes, shoes, jacket,... The wardrobe was much larger than the wardrobes in all the other comparable accommodations I've been in. There are also two fridges in the kitchen, sitting places to work... It was overall a nice, comfy stay.
