Kubler Stars hotel

The hotel was in a perfect location, situated at a 2 minute' bicycle ride from a huge public park in Karlsruhe and it is also close to the centre of Karlsruhe, where shops, bars, restaurants and excellent public transport links are found. The room which I was allocated was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff in reception were pleasant, polite and extremely helpful.

There was nothing to dislike about the hotel during my 5 night stay in Karlsruhe.

Superb

The hotel is in a good location, close to the Karlsruhe Hochschule where I had to go. The room has 2 floors. There is the bathroom below and upstairs the bed. The matrix is on the floor. The hotel is very different.

In general, it is a good experience. However, I think that the stairs could be a problem for some people.

Very uncomfortable and claustrophobic room facility.

The room was clean. The breakfast was good. The location is good. Staff were efficient.

The room was just horrid. It is not fit to keep animals in it never mind human beings. When you open the door you walk straight into the toilet and shower. A tiny desk and closet is also shared within the tiny space. Then to the left of the toilet is the tightest spiral staircase ever, atop of which is the bed. So effectively the room is the size of a double bed bunkbed with the bottom area being used as a bathroom. The headspace in the downstairs area is barely 6 feet high, and the bed area is less than a meter in height, so basically you just have to crawl onto the mattress once you climb up the stairs. The only access to the outside world is through a window hatch in the roof which is operated by a button and allows you to lift one side of the hatch by a few inches to let some fresh air. I'm willing to bet that one can find prison cells which are bigger and more comfortable than the room I was in. Absolutely dreadful.

You're not staying at Kubler Stars, you're staying at the Allvitalis Traumhotel - which has a lower score here on booking.com. It's all very small and very noisy, especially in the mornings. The breakfast is not worth 10€, and cleaning staff tried to enter my room twice even though I said 'no' or had the do not disturb sign on the door.

Die Lage und vor allem das angeschlossene Restaurant sind einen Besuch wert.

Die Lage ist sehr gut, da man schnell an den zentralen Orten Karlsruhes ist (Schloss, Naturkundemuseum, Zoo). Zum Bahnhof sind es zu Fuß etwa 20-25 min, aber man kommt auch sehr gut mit ÖPNV dorthin. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet, was die Auswahl angeht und auch das angeschlossene Brauhaus mit Restaurant ist eine Empfehlung wert.

Das Einzelzimmer das ich hatte, war schon etwas ungewöhnlich, da man praktisch in das Bad geht und dann eine Hühnerleiter zum Bett nach oben klettert. Das "Bett" ist dann eine schlichte Matratze auf dem Holzboden. Das hat schon eher Charme einer Jugendherberge als von einem Hotel und ist für korpulente oder ältere Menschen eher nicht geeignet. Wenn man ein Zimmer zum Innenhof über dem Restaurant hat ist die Lärmbelästigung ein Problem. Interessanterweise nicht durch das Restaurant (das Glasdach wird ca. 22:00 geschlossen und man hört von dort nichts), aber die Architektur des Gebäudes macht es zu einem Schalltrichter, so dass selbst Gespräche aus anderen Zimmern bei offenem Fenster wie durch einen Lautsprecher verstärkt werden. Wenn dann noch Pärchen meinen, sich bei offenem Fenster vergnügen zu müssen, hat man bei leichtem Schlaf eine schwere Zeit.

Zwischen ungewöhnlich und unverschämt. Mit einem guten Frühstück.

Das Frühstück war grosszügig und vielseitig. Die Lage super. Und ein wirklich interessanter und origineller Ort den man von der Straße aus nicht erwarten würde.

Also das Zimmer - ich hatte das Gefühl ich war in einem Puff durch die roten Lichter an der Tür. Dann trete ich ein und bin direkt mit meinen Straßenschuhe im Badezimmer, was ich echt unhygienisch finde. Dann gehe in den Schlafbereich und sehe eine relativ dünne Matratze, die ausschließlich auf dem Boden liegt. Für den Preis ein no-go. Auch wenn das Bad großzügig ist macht es die Schlafsituation nicht weg und es gab auch vorab keine Info dazu.

Crazy!

Das verrückteste Hotel, das ich je gesehen habe: dafür durchaus Respekt!

Ein BudgetZimmer mit steiler Wendeltreppe, einer Hochetage, auf der man nicht stehen kann und einer Schlafhöhle mit Matratzenlager am Boden, zu dem man nur auf allen Vieten kriechen kann, das geht gar nicht, OHNE DIES IN DER ZIMMERBESCHREIBUNG ZU NENNEN!!!!! Dieses Zimmer ist kein Einzelzimmer, sondern ein Erlebnis, für das man sich allerdings bewusst entscheiden können muss, davon will man nicht überrascht werden!

Ein angenehmer, günstiger Aufenthalt

Die Lage ist für Karlsruhe und Umgebung günstig. Ich hatte ein Zimmer der günstigsten Preisklasse und war wirklich zufrieden mit Sauberkeit und Ausstattung. Das Frühstückbuffet ist ab 6 Uhr geöffnet, reichhaltig und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Das Personal ist sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Für mich war die Tiefgarage von großem Vorteil.
