Prevôt Restaurant & Hotel

The room was very cosy and we had a little balcony that looked out over the Rhine. It was a great location for the old town. The station, the old market and the cathedral were all within walking distance.

It is renting a room only above the restaurant - there is no lobby or sitting area.The guy at check-in was rushed and made a simple process complicated. He insisted on placing our breakfast order that evening and the eating time. The breakfast was good but overpriced with no discount for guests despite booking.com offering us 10% off food and drink - everything is itemised. I had eggs Florentine and my wife had granola with yoghurt- no extras. Then two coffees each and a bottle of cold water. That came to €55. By comparison the previous night in Hamburg Conrad we had a fantastic buffet spread with a variety of fruits, cheese, croissants and all sorts of bread (there was also a spread of cold meats) and as much espresso, juices and water as desired. That was €39 from booking.com or €46 on the day. It has to be said that the woman who served the breakfast was very pleasant and calm and I said that she should do the check-in.

It was fairly convenient location to the cathedral and restaurants. Breakfast was okay. The room was fairly spacious

There is no 24h reception. So if your keep stops working or you check in late there is no one there to help you and you are locked out of the building.

We spent two nights at Prevôt Restaurant & Hotel and absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and they really made us feel at home. The location is hard to beat. The hotel sits right along the Rhine, just steps from Cologne’s Old Town and the Cathedral, and only about a five-minute walk from the main train station. It was the perfect location for exploring the city on foot while still being incredibly convenient for arriving and departing by train. Our room was clean, comfortable, and wonderfully quiet, especially considering how centrally located the hotel is. And the food deserves a special mention! We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared, and it was such a great way to start the day. The restaurant itself is stylish, warm, and inviting, with wonderful views and a great atmosphere. Between the location, the food, the beautiful hotel, and especially the exceptional staff, Prevôt was one of the highlights of our time in Cologne. We would absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Only thing I can think of was that there wasn’t a separate light for the toilet room.

The location was perfect as it was only a few minutes walk to the cathedral and other sites/ shops. It was generally quiet in the room. Having aircon available was great due to the hot weather but there was an option to open the windows which we appreciated. Everything was clean and of a good standard. The staff were lovely and accommodating

The light in the corner of the room didn’t seem to work so in the evening it felt a bit dark in the room as there was no natural light coming in. At times the light bulb in the bathroom was flickering.
