I would definitely stay here again.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great location. The hotel was very clean. There were many options for breakfast, which included freshly made eggs made to your liking.

An absolutely delightful place to stay.

We had the warmest welcome I think we've ever had to a Hotel. This immediately helped us to relax & for me, calm down, after dragging a suitcase over cobbles from the train station! The room had ample places to put belongings. The bathroom was compact but had everything we needed. This Hotel has an outstanding breakfast! Honestly...sooooo good! Each staff member was friendly, helpful & welcoming. The location was excellent. I would very happily stay here again.

We had a room on the first floor which was great because there is no lift, but, although we didnt get noise from outside, we did hear fellow guests going up & down the stairs, some of whom were very heavy footed!!

The perfect hotel to stay at and explore the sites, sounds and Christmas markets of Cologne.

The hotel is in a great location, just 5-10 minutes walk from the cathedral and main central station. Perfect for exploring the Christmas markets. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Our room (no.8) albeit quite small was big enough for us as it was just a base for exploring local sites. It. was very clean and well appointed. A highlight was the excellent breakfast on offer each morning. Such a wide selection of things to eat and drink! The variety and quality was outstanding.

There was nothing we didn’t like.Although it didn’t affect us, there is no lift so anyone that has difficulties with stairs it would be an issue.

Hidden Gem!!

What a lovely little place right in the heart of Koln. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. There was a good variety of continental breakfast and the staff offered to cook eggs and omelette if you wanted them. The room was lovely and so spacious, clean and tidy. The location was great, right next to the market, restaurants and shops. Will definitely be returning. Thankyou so much for a lovely stay from the Purdy Family in room 7 :)

Great little hotel in a fabulous location. Fantastic staff!

Excellent location; roughly under 10 minute walk to Cologne Central Station and very close to the Cathedral. If you are staying for the Christmas markets, the hotel is very well situated between two of the bigger markets (literally around the corner from one of them). The hotel is tucked away on a side street, but close enough to enjoy the benefits of the city. The hotel is within good reach of restaurants and cafes. The staff here are exceptional and made every effort to ensure a comfortable stay, even providing recommendations for sightseeing and locations of sites on maps etc. The room was a little on the small side, but very clean, and equipped with a fridge, safe, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast every morning was fantastic, with fresh contintental foods available, or eggs made to order on request. We had a late check in, but were emailed clear instructions on how to access the building and room (reception is not 24/7); we had no issues with this. Our sincere thanks go to the staff Francisco, Ingmar, Andy and Nicoleta who made our stay so special, and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend staying this hotel.

Is a personal preference, but we found the beds a little hard and uncomfortable at times. The air conditioning unit in the room we were staying in may need some maintenance, as it was making a droning sound when used (the room was warm despite turning off radiators), but wasn't a massive deal breaker. For the light sleepers, with the Cathedral and churches being nearby, you will hear early bells (hence the need for us to shut windows and have the air conditioning on in the night), so ear plugs may be an idea. Again, is more of a design issue/preference, but the tap over the bathroom sink was huge, and was awkward to use the sink fully to wash your face. Again, not a massive deal breaker.

The best

We traveled to Köln for tourism. We stayed at the Stern am Rathaus, where we were very comfortable. From the moment we arrived at reception, the staff were always very friendly, answered our questions, and gave us excellent advice about the city and tips what to visit, where to eat, and where avoid tourist trap. The room was very spacious and comfortable; they even provided an extra bed for our young son. The bathroom was also very spacious and functional. We requested the included breakfast, it was delicious, always giving us delicious things. They always reserved a table for us. In every moment attentive to our needs, always treating our little one kindly, He loves his lion. We highly recommend the hotel and its staff. We would definitely return. The best experience.

I had the most wonderful stay at Stern am Rathaus in Cologne. From the moment I arrived, the owners were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making me feel right at home. Even though I checked in late, the process was seamless, and throughout my stay they were quick to respond to any questions I had. The room was cozy and the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable—I slept better here than at the nearby 4-star hotel I stayed at earlier, which wasn’t nearly as memorable. Each morning started with a fresh, homemade breakfast buffet, including made-to-order eggs and bacon, which was such a treat. Everything about this hotel felt personal, warm, and thoughtful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and can’t recommend it enough for anyone visiting Cologne.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was very clean and well appointed. We were very thankful for the AC as there was a heat wave while we were there. The hotel's location is perfect and even though it is super central, the room was quiet so we got great sleep. Walking distance from the train station and super convenient to reach all parts of Cologne.

The layout of the room was a little awkward - though - extremely efficient and well appointed. My only criticism was that due to the layout, I could not, with our luggage, find a good place to do stretches. This is obviously a tiny inconvenience for what was, all in all, an excellent room and stay.

A welcoming hotel in the heart of historic Cologne with great breakfasts.

Great location in the heart of historic Cologne. The host was fantastic and really looked out for us. One bedroom had nice air conditioning. Tasty breakfast cooked to order. TV worked well.

With the windows open the street is noisy at night. The restaurant next door went late into Friday night. The back bedroom with air conditioning was quiet. If you leave on a very early train on Saturday morning, you may not get hot breakfast.

Comfortable. Francisco was most helpful. Coffee available in hotel with breakfast included. Towels replaced daily. Hotel very close to DOM and Hbf walking distance 5min and all eating cafes restaurants etc

Hotel has no elevator so climbing to 3rd floor is a chore for elderly seniors with mobility difficulties

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They were so helpful and with the brightest, most genuine smile on their faces. Thank you to Andy and his team! The breakfast was delicious with some local fare, and the bed was super comfortable.

It would have been nice if there was an elevator (but the stairs were totally fine), and maybe I don't know how to use it, but I find the showers with the half doors don't do a good job at keeping the water inside the shower.

The hotel is perfectly situated, steps from the Dom, the Rathaus and the Ludwig Museum. Rooms and bathrooms are well-designed. An excellent breakfast buffet with delightful extras like hummus, homemade butter and cherry pancakes. Really welcoming and helpful staff.
