I expected it to be average bcs of the low price and central location,but it exceeded my expectation

The hotel’s location was amazing — it was on the opposite corner of the square right behind Cologne Cathedral. The room was very clean. When we first entered, there seemed to be a slight smell, but the staff came immediately and explained that it was coming from outside (our room was facing the construction area at the back). Once we closed the windows, the smell disappeared. The back of the hotel opens directly onto the shopping streets, which was very convenient. There is also a luggage storage room where you can leave your suitcases. Housekeeping service is provided daily unless you request otherwise. The room size was more than sufficient for a 2–3 day stay for two people. Honestly, when I saw that the price was more affordable compared to other hotels and noticed how central it was, I assumed it might not be very good. However, it exceeded my expectations by far.

Not something I disliked, but during Carnival time — especially on Sunday and possibly on the final day, Monday — the street in front of the hotel can be closed. Therefore, if you are checking out on one of those days, you should consider the extra time you might lose. You may need to take alternative routes to reach the hotel, or security officers may allow you to cross between parade groups in a controlled manner. This is not really a negative aspect, since the hotel is very central — it’s just something to be aware of and plan accordingly.

Great location, friendly staff, would recommend

The location of this hotel is great, it's opposite the Dom and easy walking distance to everything. The rooms are very basic, no real design / decorations and no air conditioning, but this did not worry us and the room temperature was comfortable. The staff at reception were all lovely and the breakfast was great.

The pillows in the room were really flat and when we asked for extra pillow we were told there was none available. We ended folding up our bath towels and using them under our pillows.

Located right at the Centre, just a step or two from the beautiful cathedral, the hotel offers a quiet and cosy place to stay. The bathroom was modern, the bed comfortable, there was plenty of space in the room. Wonderful breakfast.

Excellent location, lovely staff, bit noisy

Location is very super central to the cathedral, a few minutes walk to the riverside where there are lots of restaurants and brauhauses and also to the AltStadt which is very pleasant to walk around, It is also a 2 minute walk to the train station. The breakfast buffet was very good each morning and the staff in the breakfast room very attentive.

Unfortunately there is an event space on the 6th floor which I didn't know about. I was given a room on the 5th floor so when there was an event there the first day I could hear it quite well in my room, It was early evening time though and was finished at a reasonable time. However on the second night there was some sort of party on up there until midnight, very noisy. There was a warning when booking that there was construction going on next to the hotel which I knew about - these started work at 7am. Room also had no a/c so had to keep a window open as it was quite warm.

Very noisy, repeated loud noises throughout the night from neighbouring rooms/rooms above. Woken up at 2am and 5am, reported to reception but made no difference. On my second stay, the room was noticably smaller and was not entirely clean (multiple hairs in the room and bathroom). No fridge. No air conditioning - the room was uncomfortably hot.

VERY NB: The rooms don't have air conditioning, which is crazy in height of summer! This is not detailed on their profile. I enquired how to turn it on when i arrived and was advised that the rooms don't have aircon and they can provide me with a small floor fan. We sweated

Beautiful Cathedral View

Nice place,in a perfect area. Convenient to a lot of restaurants, bars,shops, the Rhine River,not to mention our beautiful view and the beautiful view of the Cathedral.I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it. They also have a great breakfast as well.

location was outstanding, real easy to find close to everything including train station into town breakfast was stellar and the hotel restaurant was the best

didn't know the restaurant/brew pub had a open window etc to vent the noise which unfortunately goes up into the rooms very loud and there is a roof top events space fortunately for us the staff was able to move us to a quieter space, fortunate as the hotel gets fully booked often

Central location in the old town.

Ideal location in the traditional old town of Cologne. Easy walk from the railway station around the cathedral to the "Frūh" Hotel complex. Excellent traditional Beerkeller restaurant next door.

An Excellent Choice, Close By The Dom (Cathedral)

Everything was on a very high level. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful.

My only problem was Wi-Fi that couldn't reach my room (on two different devices). It worked fine in the lobby.

Perfect hotel for Kölsch and Köln fans!

Great location next to the Cathedral. Able to enjoy plenty of Kölsch after a day of touring. Very large rooms.

No air conditioning and be aware there is construction going on early in the morning right across from the hotel.
