Brilliant place will book again.

Location was brilliant right near the train station and cathedral. The place was clean and the right size for us. Enjoyed having a kitchen area for breakfast & separate lounge bit. Also loved swimming everyday.

Only thing was the TV had no English channels or to be able to put English subtitles but that’s to be expected and we were mostly out enjoying cologne.

Location is perfect, very near the train station & cathedral. The room was very clean. Desk staff were friendly and helpful.

The bed wasn't as comfortable as I'd like. The room was on the street side, which was sometimes very noisy.

Very nice, large apartment in a good location near Dom

Good location near Dom, we had a very large 1 br suite with balcony, kitchenette - modern-ish (well kept ~70s era building) comfortable apartment. Location felt safe and clean, fairly quiet even facing side street. Staff were very helpful, lobby nicely decorated for holidays. Pool and gym looked nice but we didn’t use them given our limited schedule - we had a LOT of Christmas Markets to see! We’d definitely stay here again it was a great value.

On site dining is more retiree dining. Not a lot of dining nearby but there is a nice BBQ place in the complex called Green Smoke with very good American style BBQ. And Cafe Pistazie a block away toward the Dom has exceptional breakfast in a tiny footprint.

Location is perfect!

Very nice and big room-apartment. A little bit old-fashioned furniture but everything clean and in good condition. There are 2 TV’s with only German-speaking channels. Spacious and light bathroom. Small but cozy kitchen. There were all needed staff for cooking and kettle with toaster, no microwave.

Parking is not easy to find (this is shared with other hotels and located behind this hotel). We spent some time to find it and find a proper place for our car because there are a lot of private places. Another moment (but it is not related to hotel) there was a building activity on the next building. They started to drill at 07:00 till 16:00 - it was not possible to relax and sleep well.

A decent stay.

Great location, close to the cathedral. Lots of room. Bed was comfortable. Washer/dryer available.

There was a large construction project going on right outside our apartment so extremely loud from 7 am. The shower drain was clogged so the bathroom flooded with even a quick shower. Reported it the first morning, but nothing was done.

Comfortable, secure, and calm .

Everything about our stay here was great. The apartment was spacious, simply but well furnished. Full of light, clean, very warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Oportunity to dine on site is useful though the location is a two minute walk from the cathedral and the main railway station. Weather was a bit chilly otherwise we would have enjoyed the terrace with our room.

Just a few more small plates and a coffee pot.

A different but delightful stay.

Convenient location to Central Station and city sights. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the apartment was comfortable. The residents were friendly. Excellent facilities such as pool and gym .

More kitchen utensils. There was only one very small frying pan and one saucepan. The kitchen was greasy and needed to be thoroughly cleaned. The only other issue was noise from the street.

An amazing stay at this lovely apartment complex - I felt safe & welcomed the moment I arrived.

We had an exceptional stay in every way, comfort, space (huge), friendliness of staff, simply amazing location, it was truly a home-from-home in the centre of Koln. I will definitely return. Just so you know, it's a lovely retirement village with every possible facility, and us tourists stay in this pristine building, and we're aware of these very sweet and polite older people going about their day. This added to the homely feel of the place. Don't let this put you off; the apartments were so big, with a private balcony, kitchen, living room and amazing bathroom. It was lovely to say hello to the residents walking past but they are not that obvious, and it's their space so they must be respected. I like the mixing of tourists with residents, and the location - wow - just paces from the Koln Cathedral and all the lovely cafes and bars but - and this is important - it was a super quiet place to stay. I slept like a dream every night. I'd definitely return when next in Koln (Cologne).

Super easy access to the train station and Kohn Messe for the trade fair. Good markets and restaurants nearby.

The spa services could not accept credit cards from the U.S. so I had to pull cash from an ATM which meant I had two fees, their bank and my bank plus a less than desirable exchange rate compared to my credit card provider. Also, no one refreshed the complimentary coffee and tea packets after what was initially provided and I was staying nine days.

A dream "hotel"

The place was huge - both the room and the "hotel". It was a 1 bedroom apartment, full kitchen with everything you need from toaster to corkscrew to pots and pans - everything. Big bathroom, Big living room, Big bedroom. One wall from floor to ceiling, end to end , the length of the room was glass window. There was a balcony. The "hotel" had 2 restaurants and 2 coffee shops. One coffeeshop was in connection with the amazing pool, sauna and jacuzzi and full large workout room with very shiny exercise equipment. You walk through a garden before you arrive at the front desk. There's a little fountain in the garden. The 2 restaurants have french doors that open to the garden. It was all just way more than I expected. Just a few steps from train station and the cathedral. I was visiting for the gay pride parade. The gay bars and parade were about a 15 minute walk away but a wonderful walk. There are literally hundreds of places to eat/drink near by. I ate in town but had a cocktail in the hotel restaurant. I don't normally go for a swim but I did at this place. It was amazing. Oh, and there was a full gym. The guy at the exercise center invited me to join in the water aerobics class. I would have but didn't have the time. And all of that was without an extra charge. I fell in love with this place. It was sooooo spacious and sooooo clean and the front desk were amazingly friendly and helpful. I was just amazed by how wonderful this place is - so much so, that I am going back just to stay at the hotel.

Nothing could be better - it was over the top as it was. I was just about to book a 9 square meter room at another hotel for 10 euro less but then just before hitting accept button, I saw this place. A full apartment for only 10 euro more? Something must be wrong. Well....... what Booking dot com doesn't tell you is that this "hotel" is actually a senior center for old rich Germans. My husband is in a nursing home so I wasn't exactly shocked. The people living here aren't exactly ill, just old and obviously with money. What I am telling here does not exactly fall under the "What didn't you like" catagory. I am just giving you a heads up. I did notice other smart young traveler had also booked a "room" here. This place was an amazing deal.

Amazing spacious apartment in an ideal location

These apartments are a 4 minutes walk from the train station. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The apartment and all areas are spotlessly clean. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The apartment itself is very spacious and has everything you need. The kitchen has a fridge, oven and hob. There is only two of everything but as there was only two of us that wasn’t a problem. The beds were very comfy and there was plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. All though there was no air con and it was 36 degrees we kept the curtains closed while we were out which kept the apartment nice and cool. It was lovely sitting on the balcony on a night looking at the cathedral spires light up. We didn’t visit the spa or the gym but we looked in and it was very nice.

Perfect city break, with a kitchen!

Really impressed with our 4 night stay here. The location was perfect, being a few minutes walk to the train station and the Dom, many restaurants , bars and kiosks, as well as public transport stops and a taxi rank. The 24 hour reception was very good, with the staff speaking English. We didn't try the hotel restaurant, cafe or fitness gym area but they all looked great. The twin bedroom apartment (zip link bed) was immaculately clean, large and airy. With a balcony, dining area, lounge area, wet room shower and kitchenette. The kitchen had a full size fridge with freezer compartment, a small oven, 4 ring hob, toaster and kettle. The WiFi was great, with no issues streaming video (to the TV through a phone with a HDMI cable) with TV's in both the lounge and bedroom. Overall, a quiet aparthotel in a great location. Would highly recommend and would definitely use again.

A microwave and a couple more pans and utensils in the kitchen would have been great but wasn't really an issue (there was a frying pan and a sauce pan).

Exactly what we needed for our stay in Koln

The appartment was very central, and accessed through a beautiful courtyard with fountains. The staff at reception were helpful. There were even laundry facilities on site.

There's little to say about what we didn't like. The kitchen was a bit small, no coffee machine, but then the staff went and found one for me.

The room was very spacious and comfortable and the small kitchen was well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful and having access to the laundry room was very convenient. The windows were a bit magical. There was construction across the street, but when the windows were closed we couldn’t hear it!

Absolutely wonderful stay!

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the apartment was so spacious and clean! Really enjoyed my stay - the swimming pool area was fabulous as well, as are all the lovely outdoor spaces to walk and sit in. I am actually from Cologne originally and loved the interactions with both staff and residents. Also - the food in the restaurant was lovely. The staff will literally try and do all they can for you, rarely have I received such great service - kudos to the reception staff!

Not at all the fault of the residence as out of their control, but I was given a room literally right opposite mayor construction sites and on weekdays the nouse was so bad I could not even slightly open the window. I would suggest checking with them where you are located and if you can have a quiet room. Im not easily disturbed but this was noise on a different level :)

Great central location, very comfortable apartment!

The location of Residenz Am Dom can't be beaten, it is minutes from the central station and perfect for exploring Cologne. We particularly loved the excellent gym facility and the convenience of the kitchen to prepare meals.

A microwave in the kitchen would've been appreciated, it is very odd that in this type of apartment this isn't a standard provided apliance!

Quiet and comfortable stay in the city center

Although the building was a bit outdated, it was spotlessly clean and comfortable, everything was working properly. Even though it was in the city center and near the train station, it was quiet and rooms had great sound isolation. Plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes around. It's home for elderly people and I read that for some it was big dissapointment, but this fact didn't bother me at all. Contrary, it meant it was really quiet and for me it is important to sleep well. Plenty of space in the room (I'd call it rather apartment), there is a kitchen with all necessary apliances, even a balcony. Staff was helpful as well.

The only downside was very poor internet connection, one of the poorest I've seen recently. Fortunately, I had plenty of mine.

The fast that this is not a hotel but an elderly home should be stated loud and clearly on the first page.

Beware! This hotel is faking the description and hiding the fact that this is an elderly house. On filing a claim, I was told that this is stated somewhere in end page. And it was. But hardly seen. I have nothing against elderly people and wish them all the best. However this is unacceptable to disguise the truth in order to attract customers. We had to cancel the stay as it was inappropriate for our business purposes.

Terrible, stole from my room and this is an elderly home not hotel.

This is an elderly home, NOT a hotel. They stole from my room, a 600€ medical face mask, needed for my health. When I reported it they told me it was my fault for leaving it in the room. Unacceptable answer, very rude manager Connie, she told me not to call and bother her about the issue. Overall very terrible.
