Loved the hotel. Location was difficult to find on foot. No shops around.
Isolated but near transport. Not a pretty part of Lyon

Very comfortable and clean room. We stayed at the 5th floor with a nice view over the city.
Very clean and tidy. Nice amenities and kettle for warm drinks that are great at winter time.
Very friendly and welcoming staff!
Good breakfast with a good range of options.
Very strict timing for the breakfast, being a weekend.
We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and we didn’t like it that much. We were expecting something more…

The hotel is well situated for travel links, however, it’s between a railway station and a car park so you shouldn’t expect a nice view
The view of a carpark

Very spacious, and well located for all forms of transport. Walking access to everything we wanted to explore.
It took a lot of time to learn and navigate the multi-layered transport hub that seemed to isolate the hotel from the city. A hotel-provided guide would have made a huge difference from day one.

We've always been loyal to the Mercure hotels and stayed there in many countries. We liked the warm atmosphere and felt ourselves at home. But after the last experience in Lyon never again!
But the last experience in Lyon was awful due to the guy at the reception desk while checking out (27.08.2025, 10AM). During our checking in and in the booking.com messenger I got a clear explanation where to park my car which is too high for an internal parking. I was given an address of the partner's parking nearby and the partner's rate at 22 EUR per day. But while checking out the guy at the reception repeated me again and again (tens time) that there was not any partner's cost since I didn't use the internal parking. He didn't show any intention to check it with his colleagues or his manager. Finally after losing half an hour a girl at the reception desk saved the situation and it turned out that the guy was not aware. No excuse, no sorry from the guy who spoiled our experience and ruined our loyalty to the Mercure hotels. It was the most awful experience in my life. We'll switch to other hotels next time.

Beautiful historic building and well kept rooms. Great location for trains buses and trams across town and beyond

Breakfast was very good . Area although nice by the river and well served by transport there were few bars and restaurants nearby
5.0 / 10.0
Staff were very friendly, fairly central location, good sized TV in room.
Air conditioning wasn’t very strong, we stayed in two rooms and it was the same in both. Just about enough to sleep but never got cold in the room. Generally a little dated but nice enough. Location is walkable to bakeries and the centre, however you have to walk through a large underpass, in the day this is fine as it’s busy but at night this might make you feel unsafe.

The staff was amazing, there was no USB charger in the room so they helped me at the reception.
The view over the rails wasn't great but you can't hear the trains/traffic so it's ok.

Poorly organised breakfast room with no cutlery or plates, bowls clearly available

Fairly good location , reception staff helpful .
Breakfast was chaotic . Tables not laid properly so guests were taking cutlery from other tables . No extra cutlery to be seen so asked staff for a spoon and it took 5 minutes to bring one . Shortage of dishes and plates and items not being replenished quickly . Scrambled eggs, although tasty were cold even when replenished .

Beautiful old building with some nice architectural features. More renovations are needed but what is done is fab.
Location is convenient if you are passing through and taking the train as it is next to the train station. It is also very close to the famous Brasserie Georges which is fun for dinner.
Needs more renovations.

Beds were comfortable and had good in-room amenities. Liked the balcony too.
Location was a bit out of the centre but next to the main train station so ideal if you need to catch a train the next morning. The toilet being 1 side of he room and the shower and sink being the other side of the room was a bit weird and inconvenient.

Breakfast was good
Bed was very hard and pillows were flat and so thin that nights were really uncomfortable. Room was small. There was no milk on the make your own drinks tray in the room and only one normal teabag...why?? The location is right by the railway station but there is no signage in the station and it was very hard to find. Staff do know left from right and did not have information on rail closures so we only just made our flight home...they should know hold ups on way to airport!

Great hotel. Super close to train station with great vintage decoration. We stayed in priority room which is super spacious. Bed is comfy. They also provide water filter machine.
There are two elevators, but one is broken the whole time we were there which cause long waiting time in the evening.

Quiet area. 50M from Gare de Lyon-Perrache train station and Metro/RER stations. Close to most tourist areas in Lyon by Metro. Historical building. Large room size with a view of the cathedral.

Late checkin was very useful and they allowed us late check out as we arrived very late. Room was big with lovely high ceilings and the Aircon was a godsend in the heatwave. Breakfast was easy and had lots of choice. Staff were friendly and a cot was provided as requested for our little one.
Bathroom shower was missing bottom guard so water went all over bathroom. Bathroom could have been cleaner. I had a late breakfast and some items had run out. Salad bar and bar area were advertised in our room so my partner skipped breakfast to get the salad bar lunch instead. Then when we asked about it at checkout we were told it didn't run on weekends so he had to go hungry! Open hours should be clearer. Bar also was not staffed when we visited at about 2pm.

Beautiful building
Location is by a train station so a mix of illegal campers and regular folks around the hotel does not make feel safe. No air con in communal area was very uncomfortable especially when you are on the top floor and tit has been very hot during the day/night.

Nice breakfast room
Air conditioning was insufficient
It was so hot that I had to take a shower to keep cool, twice during the night
I was told at the desk that it was due to the current heatwave
But
Also I know for a fact that in the adjacent room it was working properly
