Great hotel, great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the quirky, old school (literally) style. The view from the window was also amazing!

Hotel parking wasn’t available. Alternative was easily available and close by but expensive at €25 per day. Poor shower with broken head and blocked drain. Reported first thing but not sorted. However the staff were excellent and found an alternative room. Rooms disappointingly basic for the money and apparent “4 star” rating on the sign.

Comfortable, Affordable and a Great Location

The College Hotel was very clean and comfortable, it had a good bed, and a good, big shower with lots of hot water and water pressure. We were there for three very hot days in Lyon and the air conditioning was quiet and just the right level of cool. The staff were cheery and helpful. The roof terrace was a relaxing place to wind down. The decor in the various public spaces was quirky and tasteful. We did not eat at the hotel so I can’t comment on that, but the hotel is so well situated, right in the heart of Old Lyon, close to good restaurants, boulangeries, right next to a main bus route that gets you into the rest of Lyon. We were extremely happy with our choice of the College Hotel.

The hallways are a bit dark and featureless with some signs of wear and tear and could do with sprucing up, but this didn’t affect our overall positive feeling for the hotel.

The location at the end of the main street of the Vieux Lyon area was excellent. Lyon from the hotel was walkable, especially along the river.

The youthful vibe of the hotel! the reception area was very funky, inviting and a cool place to hangout. and the staff were very helpful. The location couldn't have been better.

Perfect

Everything. The location is literally amazing. Bang in the old town but also next to cools bars and a sandwich bakery coffee shop next door. The C3 bus stop is right next to it. The Lyon main town is a walk over the bridge. We stayed for 3 nights and this place was the perfect base! The staff were friendly and relaxed which made us feel the same. The breakfast was great although we decided to have breakfast out the last 2 mornings which was easy as there’s loads of places for croissants and omelettes etc! You can get free water to refill in the hotel which was a great touch as it was 32 degrees when we were there. There are scooters right outside to rent to pop around the streets on. So fun. The bathroom was compact but still had a bath which was great to cool down in. Air con was absolutely necessary while we were there and this worker well. Overall- stay here for a perfect holiday in Lyon at a really reasonable price for where it is!!!

Excellent location for a city trip at the heart of Lyon

Excellent location of the hotel. Even though it is in the historic city centre, it is really calm. Good hospitality and nice breakfast. Large bedroom The parking is of real-added value especially when travelling with bicycles

The furniture of the room was at standard and the third bed added for our child was below standard. The cleanliness of the room at our arrival was not fully satisfying .

It was extremely loud at the bars across from the hotel which kept me and my son up past 1 am on a Monday night. The lack of sleep impacted our travel arrangements the next day.
