Lovely Lyon

Location was great.. We enjoyed the breakfast time a lot.. Building was renovated and the room was very fancy, interesting, I like it..

Because of it’s an old building, our room was a bit dark.. Windows are inside.. Since our room’s windows were looking inside, although the curtains were very fancy, they can’t be closed fully, lights were coming outside; which is very annoying when you have bath or change your clothes..

charming boutique hotel in the heart of our favourite historic French city

beautiful historic hotel in the centre of Lyon's old district. moments from delightful lanes filled with great restraurabnt and shops.

The gourmet menu in the newly reopened restaurant wasnt to our taste. Once you've nibbled one pigeon you're unlikely to ask for more. We repinquished our reservation without any fuss. The bistro restaurant however is superb.

Beautifully restored court in the very heart of Lyon. Just opened up after the renovations.

Not a huge detractor once you do it once but a bit complicated to reach by car. Maybe better directions would help.

Great location in Lyon!

Great location and good air conditioning! The staff was mostly outstanding, especially the lady in the breakfast room and the concierge.

The newly remodeled rooms were too modern and somewhat sterile. I was expecting old world charm and they made it look like any modern hotel. Also, the tv went out and the staff seemed unable to fix it and a bit dismissive. They did credit our breakfasts but not having the tv was disappointing.

Great people, great location, but there is a lot that needs to be fixed to warrant the price.

The antique palace feel of the room was good. The eventual room we stayed in was bright and quiet despite being in a prime tourist area.

The first room had a musty smell which they could not get rid of, it was loud and it had no outside window. They said the smell was a problem they had in some of their rooms and cleaning did not get rid of it. Be wary of the room you get, some of them are really not great. They moved us because the smell in the first room was over whelming. But they did this after we stayed in that room for a night - to be fair they would have moved us before but they were full and the only other room they had to offer us was smaller and had a bathtub right next to the bed. Neither the first room or the second room we stayed in had a proper shower. You have to choose between a room with a shower or a room with a bath unless you upgrade. All the fixtures are dated. And in both rooms there were steps into and out of the bathroom. The whole place needs refurbishment to get to more modern standards. The antique feel does not need to mean antique plumbing, heating and electricity.

The toilets are horrible and the smell is disgusting We weren’t informed that the shower and the bath are in the middle of the room, it doesn’t appear in the room description. We wouldn’t take this room if we knew The rooms were within a corridor with almost no light. To open the door with a key (not a card!!) was a challenge without seeing anything. Why not to use modern card instead of heavy key with the name of the hotel and the room number?? Not very secured if you loose your key

Felt more like a higher 3 star hotel with 5 star prices.

Best location in the old town. Old historic building. Decent breakfast.

The room was dark and dungeony, smelled old. Tiny shower, moldy around the tile outside the shower. Expensive water bottle and minibar. The other 5 star hotels we stayed at in France supplied at least a couple free water bottles each day and even free snacks and minibar with free soft drinks. $39 for parking was high too.

The Concierge was exceptional especially Jean-Phillipe who went out of his way to ensure that our stay was perfect. If I can ever afford a butler, I will offer him the job first!
