If I'm ever in Lyon again I will make it a point to stay here again!

Great location, quiet but walking distance to everything I wanted to see in Lyon. It's less than 10 minutes from the Lyon Perrache station and the river. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler.

I truly have no negative comments about my experience. Staff were kind and super helpful. They helped me make dinner reservations and figure out fun tours while I visited the city.

Everything ! The hotel was beautiful in all aspects from the decor to the rooms and the buildings. Location was great, a little off the beaten track but attractions were walkable , always fun to explore . Staff were absolutely delightful … we would return in a heartbeat.

Fantastic location, beautiful building, perfect base to explore Lyon

Clean, comfortable fantastic location central to everything. Great base to see the city. The building is a beautiful old building completely renovated opposite the beautiful Abbaye. Short walk to either river, the area felt safe and quiet but was in the middle of everything. Staff were super helpful.

The room was comfortable; the hotel was in a good location with easy access for walking. Very helpful staff with great attitude for customer service.

The shower head in the bathroom did not work properly. The bathroom sink would not drain to keep up with the demand for usage. During breakfast, we saw 2 x mice running through the breakfast area.

Great Boutique Hotel in Lyon!

Great location in Lyon - within easy walking distance to most of the major sites, including the Roman ruins, the basilica, and old town. The hotel is truly wonderful - one of our favorites in our 6-city trip across Italy and France. Staff were extremely helpful, the room was well appointed and spacious, the little areas off reception for a glass of wine in the evening (lounge) or cup of coffee in the small cafe were great. We did not eat the full breakfast. The Presqu’ile area is definitely the nicest area in Lyon.

I wasn't a fan of Lyon itself - the Old Town area was not as picturesque as others we have visited. Did love the Roman ruins and the day trip to Pérouges were highlights of our trip to Lyon.

Very nice boutique hotel

The hotel was very clean. The decor was lovely with some beautiful and very interesting art work around the hotel. The staff in the hotel were always very smartly dressed and were always very helpful. They all spoke very good English which was very helpful. The bed and the bedding was extremely comfortable.

There was not a lot wrong. The rooms were very well appointed and clean. The only issue was we appeared to be last on the cleaning rotation so our room was not cleaned until around 3:30 - 4 pm which made it awkward when we wanted a late afternoon rest.

Lovely hotel with historical charm...

Lovely hotel with plenty of historical character and charm. Gorgeous interior design that spoke to the history of the building. Very comfortable bedding! Loved this bed! :) Very nice spacious bathroom with rain head and hand held(water pressure was a little light on) Lovely breakfast and venue. Good coffee and home made jams were delicious! Location is ideal if you prefer a quieter pocket but still walking distance to river/old town, high street shopping and main square. Staff were very helpful with making dinner reservations upon arrival and providing local recommendations.

Wasn't a major issue but worth noting that the rooms advertised appeared much larger and brighter (from natural light)than the room we stayed in. It was still a lovely room, just tight on space and in fitting with a 'dark and moody' concept.

Exceptionally clean. Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient and helpful, especially LiLou. Our room (25) was very quiet, lovely linens, good bottled water in the fridge.

Excellent Base to explore Lyon

Very well kept up hotel within walking distance or uber to major attractions. Excellent dinner suggestions by the concierge Lolil. Lot to see in Lyon especially the Museum of Roman Ruins, the Basilica, Cathedral and the Old City. Quiet restful hotel. An excellent base of operations.

Abbey-chic friendly and comfortable

Aesthetics were amazing and fitting to the abbey theme in a fashionable way. The hospitality people were wonderfully kind and helpful. Their cafe cookies and coffee were yummy. AC was cool enough on 90 degree days. 25 min walk along river to art museum and “old town” restaurants etc.. The place is exceedingly clean. Luxurious shampoos etc..

Beds were a little more firm than I love but that might be personal preference.

Abbey Road revisited

Impressive establishment in restored former abbey. Most helpful and well informed staff at reception; housekeeping with eye for detail. Central location in quiet neighbourhood. Great atmosphere.

Although the building has been restored to near perfection, and the rooms internally are soundproof, the latter unfortunately did not apply to the windows: during our stay we were woken up, three days in a row, at 6 am by a garbage truck, clattering away with the bins over the cobbled street. Not in conformity with (high) price level. The 🅿️ arrangement, some 10 minutes walking from the hotel, is the best they can do and by itself adequate. There is a most practical drop off spot (for one car) right in front of the hotel.

Lovely location and property, try to avoid the smallest rooms

Lovely location, pretty room, lovely cafe with outside tables in a beautiful courtyard. Everything clean and tasteful. Lovely soaps, all the details.

I was traveling with my son and the room was just too tiny to manage. The “double” was uncomfortably closed-in feeling and we could not spend any time inside it. I am sure that the more spacious rooms are lovely.

A wonderful combination of high end modern interior design with historic structure. Exceptionally helpful staff, knowledgeable about Lyon, restaurants, transport, sights, etc. L’Abbaye contains a comfortable lounge to gather before going out, a small cafe/bar for drinks and treats, and an exquisite breakfast to start the day.
