Great Location

We stayed 2 nights at Fuori Porta House and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent — just outside Città Alta, making it easy to explore Bergamo on foot while still enjoying a quieter setting. The roomwas clean, comfortable, and well equipped for a short stay. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully arranged. Check-in was smooth and communication with the host was clear and efficient. Perfect base for a short visit to Bergamo — we would definitely stay again.

Excellent place to stay in Città Alta of Bergamo

Fuoriporta House is beside the San Vigilio funicular and very close to Porta Sant’Allesandro in Città Alta of Bergamo. It can be reached conveniently by bus no. 1 from the Bergamo train station; the same bus also goes to Bergamo Airport. On the ground floor, it has a bar/pastry shop in the front and a beautiful terrace at the back which is used as the breakfast room. They do serve an excellent breakfast. The room we stayed in was completely automated and can be studied in design classes around the world as an excellent example for usage of space and considerations for lighting and privacy. It was large, comfortable, had all the amenities one can ask for, even slippers, some complimentary snacks, and a radio. There is also a very nice pizzeria whose entrance is right beside the Fuori Porta House which serves delicious pizzas. We very highly recommend the Fuoriporta House which has an excellent host to those who would like to stay in the magnificent Città Alta of Bergamo.

A hidden gem of Bergamo

Where do I even start!? The staff were exceptionally nice, always smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. The room was cozy and the breakfast felt like at an Italian home - a lot to choose from, all local and fresh, a lot of pastries, fruit, but also prosciutto, cheeses, nuts, etc. The location of the hotel was fantastic - in the historic part of the city, with direct bus connection to the train station and the airport. It was adjacent to a funicular station, so you could have a breakfast at their beautiful terrace while enjoying a view of the funicular climbing the hill, that was really unique! All in all, this place is really a hidden gem and we couldn't be more satisfied. We'd surely love to come back!

Location to upper Bergamo was great. First night offered drink and buffet at no cost which was a pleasant surprise.

Could not seem to get heater to warm up and breakfast did not start till 8 which was a challenge as I needed to get to work.

Magical stay

We loved the location and the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the owners and staff. The cozy bedroom, the welcome drink with buffet appetizers, and the delicious breakfast made our stay even more special.

Great location for a few days away

Excellent location next to funicular (don’t hear it)room clean and tidy with plenty of toiletries. Breakfast superb with huge choice. All staff fantastic and very friendly

Not sure if just a one off but on the Saturday night there was a loud party going on til the very early hours of the morning in the property out the back Luckily I had earplugs with me but hubby didn’t☹️

Breakfast could have used a few more protein options. Parking at extra $25 per night was a surprise. Expensive. I would have like knowing that ahead of time.

Just about everything. Staff could not have been better. Facilities were excellent, the hotel was spotless and nothing was a problem. The transport system was literally 3 minutes away. Old town was a 5 minute walk. Just superb.

A perfect 10

It was a perfect 10... The hotel is a delightful boutique hotel with only 6 rooms and they are all lovingly well appointed..the hotel had a lovely bar with great outdoor space and the breakfast was fabulous fresh everything.. downstairs was a perfect authentic Naples pizzeria that was outstanding..the staff was beyond helpful and kind and the location was perfect, just outside the old city 5 min and the bus to the lower town was almost right in front. And for people with cars, parking is right next door..you can't miss and they love pets.

Excellent location right next door to the upper funicular but not noisy . 5 minutes walk from all the shops and restaurants . The staff were so welcoming and helpful even allowing us to have breakfast a bit earlier as we had a flight to catch .

Fantastic hotel in a lovely city.

Lovely boutique hotel on the edge of the old town, close to the bus and all the sights. Most importantly 2 mins walk from the best icecream in town! Comfortable room, fantastic staff and lovely breakfast.

A perfectly located guest house with very comfortablle beds and excellent staff.

Location in high old town and very close to beautiful views over Bergamo and the historic sites. The whole place was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Kind, friendly staff and owners.

There is a loud rumble from the funicular next door and the sound of cars along the cobbled street outside. I understand this cannot be helped. Also no restaurant service when I was there.

I would stay here again, love Bergamo and can't beat the location for the old city.

Room was small but very cleverly designed, in excellent taste. Location was perfect, just outside the citta alta gates and literally right next to the funicular for San Vigilio.

It was an odd experience because we were told the hotel was closing for three days after we checked in. We were instructed to leave the key card on the front desk when we left, and saw no one on site afte that.

Charming guesthouse in a perfect location. Friendly and very helpful staff. Good wifi. Lift. Simple, good breakfast. Cafe with patio serves a great Aperol spritz. Modern, comfortable well appointed room, spacious bathroom. Very nice linens. Funicular next door. Short walk into center.
