While the bed and sofa are very comfortable and the views over the city are lovely, the overall experience does not quit

Perfectly located in the heart of Bergamo’s beautiful Upper City, the Gombit Hotel benefits from an outstanding setting. The staff are extremely kind and attentive, and the breakfast is of very good quality.

However, there is a noticeable musty smell on the ground floor that would benefit from being addressed. More importantly, the value for money is disappointing. €400 per night for a “deluxe” room feels hard to justify, especially given the interior design, which lacks coherence and refinement despite the “Design Hotels”

Perfect stay in the beautiful old town.

The hotel is a beautiful ‘design’ hotel. Minimal but elegant in decor. The room had everything I needed and was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very enjoyable. There was a continental buffet and a small menu of hot items. I was provided with a packed breakfast when I departed as I had to leave at 5am. I found the staff personable, friendly, knowledge and always quick to offer help. The location is perfect. I have no hesitation in recommending Gombithotel.

Amazing stay!

Lovely staff at the reception, we arrived on a late flight and they made sure to enter our car plate to the parking for us to have a smooth arrival. The room was lovely and renovated and the bathroom was spacious. Shops and cafes are just a few minutes walk away.

Excellent for a two night stay

location is right in the heart of the old town with everything available close by. Great rooms ,very freindly

An in house bar and resteraunt, rather than going out but the property as an old town house does not really have the space, If you drive in be aware you are on narrow cobbled streets full of people, would not advise in peak or busy times !!!

Excellent choice for Bergamo Alta

Superb central location in Bergamo Alta. The hotel is at the Roman centre of the city. Wonderful room. Beautiful decor. Cosy. Superb bathroom. The staff, whilst not being over-friendly were extremely professional. We liked that. Good communication prior to the visit. They accommodated our transport arrangements. No hot breakfast but a good cold buffet, such that a hot breakfast was not really needed. Good range of breakfast items. We would stay there again.

The ground floor is not particularly cosy. It has a cold, white look. Some of the artwork and furniture is out of keeping with the old nature of the building (in contrast to our rooms, where there was a perfect marriage of the old and the new)

Loved this stay — great location, beautiful rooms, helpful staff… a splurge.

Our room was delightful. It was wonderful to open the windows and hear church bells. The room was current, beautifully designed and comfortable. Breakfast included a variety of fresh foods to suit both European and American preferences, including hot (hard to find in Italy) coffee. We especially appreciated great service and such a warm personality from Mojgan, and the front desk staff was great as well.

For years one of our favorite accommodations in Italy, on a terrific location in beautiful Bergamo

Two years ago, I wrote that this hotel was one of our favorites in Italy. It still is. I'll say more: the reason we've included Bergamo in our (almost annual) Giro d'Italia five times is precisely this hotel (also Bergamo is a particularly pleasant city to stay. If I could choose any city in Italy to live, it would be Modena or Bergamo). Located in the heart of the beautiful, attractive Città Alta, you can drive up to the hotel to unload your luggage, and you can reserve a parking space only 100 meters by foot. The staff is very helpful, and the hotel, a beautiful building, is perfectly maintained. The rooms are stylishly furnished (completely to our taste). We had a quadruple room, which has two full bathrooms, which is very welcome when traveling with your daughter (...) The breakfast may be a bit limited, but it's delicious, and, again, the staff is very friendly. We'd especially like to thank the girl - I forgot to ask her name - who provided a a nice breakfast to take for us and helped us get out of the garage when we left early in the morning. Grazie mille e alla prossima!

Our ceiling started leaking overnight in the bathroom because of burst water pipe. The staff were very apologetic and ensured we were able to shower in another room.

Lovely hotel in historic centre

It was perfectly located in the centre of the town. The breakfast had a nice European selection. Room was a decent size with nice features such as a small covered balcony and historic window. The bathroom came with all the usual additions including hairdryer. Tea and coffee facilities in room. USB ports.

Only one issue I would say was that we arrived around 3.30. Check in was 3. Room wasnt ready and we were asked to come back in about half an hour. Nothing major but I feel generally check in times should be maintained when you are paying for a room and losing an hour when you have travelled and want to freshen up however we appreciate things happen and delays can occur.
