Room was dirty, spiders, dead bugs, dog hair. A tired room. Tho the owner did clean it after we noted the poor condition.

Good value accomodation in a great location with amazing views. Lovely pool. Although the accomodation is dated it was clean and the owners are clearly motivated to provide a good holiday experience

Disappointing

Courteous on arrival, checkin time was flexible

No indication that mosquitos might be a problem, windows left open, no screens. We were bothered by hundreds of them, one wall had more than 30 surrounding the light when I turned it on. blood on sheets, was worried about our young puppy. decided to leave at 10pm and drive 1 hour to a relatives place for the night. (Fortunate we had that option) Drove back next day and owner was rather aggressive when I gave feedback, didn’t stay the second night, they would not consider a refund for that night. They suggested there was mosquito spray in the room under bench, it’s possible however I didn’t see any when I looked at the time, we were rather flustered. Altogether a poor experience.

Comfortable with a fantastic view

The view from our room was stunning. We had a thunderstorm at night with a fantastic light show. Sat and watched it go all around us.

The property is aging and showing a few tell tale signs. But the staff and the view make up for that

Amazing, comfy and great staff and views

Had a great stay, very comfortable and warm in the room. Views were amazing from our room and deck. Staff were amazing and was able to have my dog with me Willis was a great bonus.

No privacy with neighbours on outside patio, no shelter from sun or rain. Older complex partially renovated inside, still old bed and sofa covered with a grey protector. Guest laundry unacceptable, old and dirty. No fire alarm Very steep and difficult driveway/ parking

Can't beat those views!

Fantastic views of the countryside, bay and river. Look one way to see gorgeous sunset and turn around to see beautiful pink reflections on the other side. Everywhere smelt heavenly - a mix of jasmine & honeysuckle growing. Peaceful, relaxing, quiet. Pool was good. Friendly, helpful owners too. I would definitely go again. Very safe environment, you could leave doors & windows wide open, day & night.

Beautiful views and location. Paihia is in such a beautiful part of New Zealand. Norm and Shelagh were most welcoming. After the whole world has been locked down it was so nice to visit such a friendly and accommodating motel. Would definitely return.

Location fantastic. no breakfast but wasn't expecting breakfast. Lovely hosts cant fault them. Its was an out dated room. Needs to a bit of work. Only 2 channels on TV. Some things wasn't as clean as should have been, but over all good. Great location

Bit more eye to detail. Found a pie in the microwave from last people? It just needs updating but not a bad place to stay. Hosts are very accommodating & very Welcoming. Just don't expect to much from the room, but was clean enough.

very disappointing

wonderful views from our room

First impressions when entering the property we new it wasn’t going to be good. The check in office was very untidy and dirty and the surrounds outside the office needed some much needed TLC. Very old property definitely needs an update stuck in the seventies with the decor, beds where uncomfortable curtains in the rooms threadbare class sliding door to our room wouldn’t lock. The owners were very nice but I think it’s all to much for them to look after the property. it’s such a shame as it could be nice if they did some maintenance. very disappointing as the photos on bookings.com don’t match the property. the only positive for this hotel is the view and the pool was very clean.

lovely hosts , the bed was very comfortable which was great. View was amazing. As it was pet friendly it helped us so much as we had our 2 small dogs with us. Value for money.

TV was not good. only 2 clear Chanel’s. we love to relax watching tv during evening but was nothing much to watch.
