Beautiful terrace stay, overlooking the bay, with a host who pays real attention to detail.

This is a beautiful, well kept property that provided everything we needed for our stay in Bay of Islands. The apartment is spacious with a comfy bed, open plan living area and everything we needed. From beach towels to sun cream, toiletries and kitchen implements. The terrace overlooking the bay was beautiful, the property was immaculately clean, with thoughtful provisions provided for breakfast. Our host Inge was kind and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed over Christmas and she helped us book Christmas Day lunch, provided a beautiful breakfast hamper for us and sent up warm mince pies on Christmas Day which was a real comfort and treat. Parking is convenient, just outside the front door. We’d stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

Inge made us feel like family and we were made to feel at home.....

The hostess Inge was simply exceptional in ensuring we had a memorable time. Her advise on local attractions was excellent. The provisions for the first breakfast were hugely abundant. The place was spotless. The views were to die for. The property is in a quite location so sleep was wonderfully peaceful. We can't wait to return.....

A warm welcome with lots of extra little luxuries thrown in

We have stayed in a lot of B&Bs this trip. Chalet Romantica had the warmest welcome of all of them. I wanted somewhere special and the owners here could not have done more to make it special.

Inge is such a wonderful host, providing so many helpful tips, an amazing breakfast and is exceptionally friendly. The room and facilities were very clean and the location can’t be faulted - views are fabulous.

Excellent accommodation and hosts for a relaxing stay in Paihia.

Very friendly helpful hosts. We stayed in the top studio unit - extremely comfortable and spacious. Very nice little kitchenette. Extremely clean and well presented with fresh flowers and welcoming fruit bowel. King bed was very comfortable. A most relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The room was up 2 flights of stairs - it was not a problem for us, but would be difficult for a less mobile person.

Breakfast was incredible. The fresh pineapple hit the spot after the spa. The extras were amazing ..slippers and dressing gown for the pool..great provision..the view from our room withe lovely deck..such an amazing view..host Inga so helpful & friendly.

Managing the TV was a challenge..but not a major as everything else was amazing..a lovely selection of books in the room thank you

My partner and I stayed here for 2nights for our babymoon, it was beyond what we expected,the location was perfect and the facilities were stunning it had all you needed and more with the most comfortable beds, the complimentary breakfast on our first morning there was a delicious great start to our day with stunning views, Inge was a beautiful host who did not hesitate to make sure your stay is welcoming and assists you in anything you may need. Would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back :) worth every cent.

We were made to feel so welcoming on arrival by our host and during our stay. Beautiful decor in the rooms and the bathroom had a great range of products to use. Awesome complementary breakfast was delivered to our room that night. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a stay. Absolutely lovely location with spectacular ocean views with a huge balcony. Lovely spa and pool area.

The bedrooms should have their own ensuite particularly when travelling for work and staying with colleagues The gate security is more difficult than it needs to be after 11.00pm. A key could be provided to enable entry without having to make prearrangements with Inga. Sometimes you dont know your going to be back after 11.00pm as such you will not have made any arrangements. It would be helpful to know about the steps to the room at the time of booking as one of our party could not stay because he was not able to walk up the internal stairs.

Nadine was an exceptional host - very welcoming and forthcoming with local knowledge and advice on places to eat and visit. Breakfast was amazing! The accommodation is just a few minutes walk from restaurants and shops.

Alles, het was geweldig en zouden zo weer terug kunnen gaan 🥰 Comfortabele bedden, prachtig uitzicht, heel gezellige inrichting. Het ontbijt was heel uitgebreid en super lekker. Inge is een geweldige host.
