Julie went out of her way to book tour and generally make our stay such a friendly and happy one. Would stay there again.

Excellent place to stay for our road trip!

Friendly greeting on arrival from Julie, made to feel welcome immediately. Excellent location, next to Treaty Grounds entrance, very short drive to main restaurants. Facilities very clean and anything needed was there for you. Highly recommended!

Comfy home away from home

We liked how clean it was. It felt like a relaxing home away from home. The giant TV. That they actually separate rubbish and recycling and do their part to shrink their ecological footprint. Hosts were super kind and generous. Being able to use the BBQ. Crisp, clean sheets.

The bowls were not deep enough and made it difficult to put porridge in it.

Fabulous Stay at Gateway

Julie and Martin were great communicators and v helpful aiding booking of trips and advising on local eateries. The room exceeded our expectations. Location great. Had a fabulous 4 night stay.

A great place to stay

What a great place to stay. The hosts were friendly and efficient and they provided maps and suggestions for activities and restaurants. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was situated between the Paihia wharf and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, so it was easy to get around. There was even a supermarket across the road which we used when we first arrived. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well each night. Many thanks to Julie and Martin.

It was comfortable. The managers were very nice.

The location was not on the waterfront which was disappointing. It was extremely expensive for what it was and there was no blinds on the some of the windows in the bedrooms so it was very light early in the morning.

Location was excellent. Close to the beach and although the roads around the apartments were busy little noise from inside the room when door was closed

Quiet, clean, and comfortably situated.

Very friendly communicative host. Location is close to the beach and just up the road from a grocery, plus petrol. Plenty of room, helpful little kitchenette space, and clean property.

Night 1 I learned an ant-y lesson about leaving takeaway leftovers on the counter nearest the door and window. No issue after that though!

We enjoyed our stay at this motel, and if we are back up in the Bay of Islands we would definitely stay there again.

The property was easy to find, clean and very tidy. Close to amenities, a 10-15 minute stroll to the town centre.

We really enjoyed our stay and felt so comfortable as the hosts were close by ready to help with anything!

Julie the host, was so welcoming and more than happy to answer our questions about the area. Giving us recommendations for places to go and eat. The accommodation was very close to the beach and a great walking distance to central Paihia, also just across the road from a supermarket.

The only complaint was the shower was too good, so hard to get out!!

Nice spacious self-contained rooms which were very clean. The motel is maintained by friendly and welcoming hosts. The location is a 10 min walk from Paihia wharf, and just a short drive to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

Perfect base for a stay in the Bay of Islands. Will happily return.

The room was spacious and very comfortable bed and pillows. The kitchenette was well fitted out with tea, coffee, and milk in the fridge. Julie and Marti were very welcoming and Julie updated us on the Russell ferry cancellations due to bad weather and offered alternative suggestions. Its a short 15 min walk to the ferry along the water which we were aware of. Countdown is just across the road Very good value for money.

For motel accommodation I cant really think of anything we didnt like.
