The location to the beach and shops was brilliant. The room we had for our family of 5 worked well. Each day the room was serviced. David and Debbie worked tirelessly to keep the place clean, spotless and the needs met of the people staying there. The views were spectacular even in a tropical cyclone and the pool and spa were perfect for our kids. A great place to stay.

Great hotel in a beautiful quiet beach town with so much to see and do

Great location … we could see the beach from our room, we parked right in front of our unit and walked next door for a delicious dinner. It was also only a short drive into town for breakfast the next morning and to all of the tourist locations we wanted to visit (Russell, Waitangi Treaty grounds etc). The room itself was nice and clean with everything we could need. We rang reception on the day and asked for a late check in and they were super helpful.

A little squishy being that the two adults slept in the lounge area and the three kids in one room with a small cupboard but the room was appropriately priced for what we got and we didn’t spend much time in the room at all (how could you with a beautiful beach across the road) so it wasn’t an issue.

Great stay!

The owners were super friendly and were able to accommodate our needs with ease. They are the nicest people, with a beautiful motel. Super comfy, super clean, and the pool was divine, plus the view is just phenomenal. 1 minute and you're on the beach. Couldn't ask for a better location. Highly recommend!

Location was great for centre of Paihia. The unit was very clean and comfortable and had everything needed for a short stay

We had a great short stay however the unit was a little noisy, walls were a little thin and could hear upper floors, children running around, traffic etc. however we had earplugs with us (from the flights) and this helped. It wouldn’t stop me booking again

Great value with great location.

Deb and David were very helpful, and the stay was very nice. The room was tidy and had all the necessary items, I.e. blankets/pillows/skytv/kettle/tea. Pillows and matrssess were surprisingly good, our team had a good night rest. Located strait across the road there is a sandy beach with the easy to use ramp. On the way back from the ocean we wre jumping in the pool and finish of in the hot tub before returning to the room.

The building is situated right next to the SH1, so noise day and night is to be expected, we didn't enjoy it anyway. Depending on your luck, you may have decent neighbors or like us the trouble makers.

Always enjoyed our previous stays at The Anchorage as the hospitality and customer service was top tier. Appreciated how our wants & needs were taken care of with no hassles.

This time round the new owner was unwelcoming to the point our stay was disturbed we had family call in to visit us and say hello just for them to be told to leave because they didn't have a reservation we broke a rule by drinking in the spa when yet they had a bbq area next to the spa? In the end we chose to respect the owners rules and get a refund and find some place else to be able to enjoy our relax with family and friends.

Great location, great outdoor pool and sauna, but very bad mattresses in our unit.

Location is perfect. Right on the beach in the main road.

The worse beds we had ever experienced... The two single beds in the seperate bedroom felt like water beds. They were very unstable and wobbly. The double bed in the main room felt very old and overused. The mattress was sagging in the middle. The mattress was very unfocomfortable. All the mattresses in unit 5 urgently needs to be replaced before the summer holiday when guests come to stay for longer periods. We were there for only one night and didn't have a decent sleep on them.

Room was ultra clean and the view of the beach perfect. Had a fantastic stay . And previously over the years of traveling to NZ from Australia and visiting the Bay of Islands we have always stayed at the Anchorage .
