Lovely location, just in need of a few tweaks

The property is central for everything, bars, restaurants, the beach. Great location EV charging was £20. However this was unlimited charge for 24hrs. - great value for a long journey home.

Unfortunately the rooms were far too hot. We used the air conditioning throughout the whole stay. When waking up there was black debris on the table from the air conditioning, it needs a good clean, it was also very loud. The main rooms door, are very heavy and bang when closing. The location of my room was next to the lift. You could hear the lift shutting each time it was used.

Excellent Hotel, very helpful and friendly staff slightly spoilt by a wedding reception.

Hotel was very well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, location was very good. We used the local bus service to get into town. Parking was a bit cramped but with care and attention was adequate. Lots of local pubs and restaurants.

There was refurbishing of the room doors in progress which left an unpleasant smell in the air, thought we should have been made aware and the work done in an order that kept it away from the rooms in use. On a Friday night there was a wedding reception that was rather noisy and loud music went on late into the night. As a result of the reception many guests stayed overnight and rather blocked up breakfast the next morning. A spill of tables was arranged but I rather felt that the wedding guests should have been seated where they had their reception not blocking up the area for normal residents. A big dislike was the Hotel background music which was of a very boring, bland, miserable nature and all very much the same all day. Despite these complaints our stay was mostly enjoyable.

Like the spa this was nice although small.

We were put in a room that the lift backed on too and all night we heard the lift going up and down and doors opening and closing, the shower was also luke warm at best. Very disappointed in the value.

An adequate stay for Valentines

The hotels location was central to the high street & beach, the room's ceilings were very high up with thick blackout curtains on the windows which was lovely. The spa/gym and pool were a great bonus with only the specific treatments requiring extra payment. Spacious room with modern furnishings besides the TV. Plenty of extras you can add on, particularly for the seasonal period of Valentines... they had special requests like flowers, spa treatments and chocolates on offer for the room's.

The aircon in the room was non functional which had the room sitting at an uncomfortable temperature until the windows were opened. Bathroom had inconsistent temperatures with the hot tap being barely lukewarm, the only time hot water was readily available was gone midnight.

Nice room though bathroom a bit dated … nice gym, friendly receptionist and waitress at breakfast. Bed very comfortable and quiet room.

Horrible pillows , and breakfast food was all a bit dead looking and cold. Bathroom in room was bit dated and 4/5 in cleanliness

Mediocre. Could do with being a bit more user friendly

A third floor room with a dormer type balcony. A decent comfortable bed. Room very clean throughout.

Parked in the hotel's main car park and on checking in I was told that I had to move my car into a different parking area along the side of the building as this area was due to be worked on. A bit annoying as I had to go back out in the rain and then was charged an additional £12 for the privilege which I felt was a bit naughty. Some signage or prior warning would have been nice. Had to use a doorbell and then resort to knocking on a window to get back in later in the evening as the main entrance was locked. Staff member eventually appeared but somewhat interogative and wanted my name and room number. A fob type method to regain entry would certainly have been a better experience. Badly lit grounds and lots of rain puddles resulting in wet shoes and socks. The room door card then refused to work and I couldn't get back into the room, so by now I wasn't particularly impressed. Lavatory difficult to flush. Balcony door difficult to open and close. Woken up the following morning by somebody using a hammer drill in a nearby room. A frustrating place to be but did the job.

Perfect Location for weekend break

Beautiful size room , perfect location, looked very festive....Helpful staff & friendly

steam room wasn't working & we were not notified about this until we went to use it this was one of the reasons we picked this hotel because it helps us for medical reasons.. we had countless emails from hotel & so much information repeated that didn't see there was no food this weekend due to Christmas parties would of been helpful to been informed on checking in or a leaflet left in our room as a reminder of this...

Site of hotel to town centre

Staff interaction. Difficult to communicate efficiently. Ignoring whilst two staff trying to sort another issue at reception. Obviously didn't mean to place room card next to phone but treated as a child wanting it to be reset. Classic room clean but very very compact. .

Having to move rooms at 2:00 am due to a very loud faulty air conditioning unit. It took staff well over an hour help us The cheaper rooms are very tiny and the first room had no plug sockets near the bed

A dated hotel with poor communication and a frustrating overall experience.

The hotel felt worn and poorly maintained. Our room was dusty, and the bathroom was basically a small cloakroom with a shower forced into the corner. They had a function on during our stay, which meant the dining room was closed. We weren’t told about this when booking or on arrival, and we would have eaten elsewhere before parking if we’d known. Parking itself was extremely difficult to access and added unnecessary stress. Overall, the whole place felt tired and in need of attention.

Nice hotel, cant fault it for the little time we spent in it.

Location was excellent for us for what we wanted to do, it was only a one night stopover travelling from up north. We arrived early evening time and went straight out to a really nice indian restaurant around the corner. Room was warm, comfy and clean. All what we needed after a 6 hour drive. Little balcony in the apartment was nice to sit out on and have a bottle of wine.

We woke up pretty late for breakfast but was down 20 minutes before it finished, there wasn't much left to eat on the english breakfast side of things but we managed.

We liked the staff they were friendly and went out there way to help

We didn't like breakfast it was cold both days and very disappointed with it. Also, the changes they have made regarding tea and coffee at breakfast are not good changes Tea and coffee from a machine is not hotel standard it misses the personal touch, and the toaster burnt the bread so much you couldn't eat it. we did tell them The room we had is in need of updating, as is the bathroom, the carpet certainly needs changing

Our stay

Reception warm and inviting. Breakfast was 10/10. Bed was comfortable. Room a nice size. Location was nearby the town centre. Swimming pool nice, water warm. Sauna was lovely, unfortunately steam room not in use. Gym available but did not use. Ordering a taxi was easy as just needed to press a button at reception to order, came within minutes.

No bottles of complimentary water in one of our rooms. Drinks from bar were quite expensive £37.50 for 4 double house vodka and lemonade. Lemonade were bottles instead of being on tap.

Not worth the money, poor quality hotel

The fires in the entrance area were nice to warm ourselves after a cold day. All the staff were very friendly

The pool was very cold, the jacuzzi was cold, the room was cold and speaking to other residents at breakfast some of them complained their room was cold to. There was no heating in the breakfast area so had to wear coats to breakfast. There were cigarette butt's in the guttering and edge of the balcony, there was hair and lots of dust on the main table in the room, the tiles on the balcony were loose and creaked when stepped on, and the breakfast was nice on the first day but the next 2 days the breakfast was poor, the bacon was grey and eggs undercooked, so only ate toast

Disappointing Food

Excellent hotel and staff.

I booked this hotel having stayed a few times a few years ago. Very disappointed this time because the chef was not there. The food then was outstanding but now just like pub grub. A real shame, so unless food expectations are improved we will not be returning. Our stay was however good.

Enjoyable, would return again

Rose suite furniture and woodwork is very tired and could do with updating. Lilac suite (RM 37) is much nicer, but would expect better range of toiletries, an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer in the suites.

I loved the decor. The art books. The spa facility. The diffused aromatherapy oil was lovely. The cosy places to sit.

Some of my/our experience of other guests not great. A rude man in the sauna. My sister experienced and argument between a guest and staff in relaxing area. Not staffs fault.
