Location was lovely. Really good welcome from owner. Shared fridge and ice maker brilliant. Lovely outdoor plunge pool - heated. Very quiet and peaceful. Decent breakfast.
Hot tub was out of order, not the owners fault but one of the reasons we booked this b&b.
Half moon cabin was lovely but would have liked better curtains - they let in a lot of light and it was very sunny. Egg bath was stunning but completely impractical!

The breakfast was excellent.
We liked the personal touch from the staff and the dining room was welcoming with an open fire burning at breakfast time.
We liked the peaceful quietness of The Olive garden house that we were staying in.
The access from The Olive to the main building could be improved with a hard path across the grass, and a
larger hard wearing piece of floor covering is needed as you enter The Olive from the grounds to protect the carpet.

We all loved it. We were warmly welcomed, the staff were friendly and efficient and the grounds extensive. It's a very short walking distance to The Bear, which was also a pleasure, with good food, nice staff and a good selection of beers and non alcoholic beer too. We had a great sibling time.
No, we stayed in the main house and loved it's old world character.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Cedar House Boutique B&B! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The room was comfortable, and beautifully decorated, creating the perfect cozy atmosphere. Breakfast each morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The hosts were incredibly friendly and attentive. The peaceful surroundings made it easy to relax and truly enjoy the weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place.

Dorota cooked us delicious breakfasts and was a real sweety.
Overpriced.
Main house very quirky 😬
Musty damp smell in our accommodation. Uncomfortable beds. Lumpy pillows. Tired, unkempt decking area.
Breakfast waiting staff smelt very strongly of cigarettes when serving our breakfast (& went for cigarette break right outside the dining room).
Definitely not our usual standard of accommodation and would not revisit.

Our stay was wonderful, we like that we were secluded and had a private terrace.
Breakfast was fabulous and a good variety. The pool and hot tub were great to chill out in for the afternoon with the sun shining.
Resident cat Roger was a joy when he came to see us on our first morning.
Unfortunately, the WiFi in our room did not work, we advised staff but no one got back to us about this.
There were some older windows in our room which allowed a large amount of noise in. Another guest arrived back at the property at 1:30am and the noise of their car and foot steps woke us. These windows are not very secure.

Old fashioned elegance. Very large bedroom with comfortable bed and pillows. Large bathroom. Good ample breakfast.
Dining room seating arrangements a bit chaotic on first morning. Second morning much better.

Not a lot
Cockroaches x5 killed in the bathroom
Very poor cleaning
Nowhere near what the pictures showed, it would say it was missold
There was no communication from the owner after the cockroaches were killed over 2 days .
General hygiene was very poor , room not cleaned to the standard you would expect glass in the bathroom was disgusting clearly not cleaned . I could go on and on

absolutely delicious.
The pool, sauna and hot tub were a also great extra addition.

An amazing stay in a charming old house! Full of character and exactly as shown in the pictures.
The owner and staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for my daughter and I. We spent most of the time in the heated pool and hot tub in the beautiful grounds. We visited the owners restaurant called The Dome in Christchurch, which was amazing and we loved the delicious food.
We truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending to a week long holiday.
Thank you so much, Cedar House!!! We will be back!
I honestly can't find fault.

Lovely location, and the grounds looked lovely.
The hot tub was cold and the sauna was an extra cost. We booked this accommodation for the facilities, which was a disappointment.
The curtains around the room are very thin so we were woken with the sun rise.

Nice Location, Good Breakirty in placesfast, lovely gardens and facilities, Room a little tired, little dirty in places, paint on glass in doors, nice and pleasant stay, Room just lacking a little for the money paid. :) would possible stay again with family or friends for different rates :)
Room just lacking a little for rate charged, even though the gardens and pool were very nice if you wanted a day off from the beach :)

Staff and hosts were brilliant, welcoming and friendly. Grounds were amazing and included a small heated pool which was great for dipping in. Superb hot tub and sauna was available for an extra £10 charge. Outdoor fridge/freezer was a great addition for storing drinks and picnic food.
Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Cooked fresh and ready for when you sit down at your requested time.
Our bed in our room (Papillion) was very comfortable but did appear to dip in the middle...a minor issue.

The staff were excellent, breakfast lovely. Really lovely to have the pool, hot tub. The size of the rooms and facilities in room were superb and the showers were great. The grounds were very well looked after. It was a lovely setting and would love to visit again.
Only slight needs a little TLC of cosmetic touch up in places, but that did not detract from an excellent stay.

Good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. We stayed in the Half moon cabin which was comfortable and clean. Shower was a bit temperamental flowing either very hot or very cold. Staff did take a look and was better the following day.
The Half Moon cabin we stayed in did not have any pathway to access the cabin, you needed to walk across a grass lawn, which was ok as the weather was warn and dry. Garden overgrowth needed to be cut back around the small decking area to the front. Wouldn't stay there in cold wet weather.

We stayed in the half moon cabin which was comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the grounds of the property were beautiful.
The shower had two settings, scolding or freezing, we never managed to make it work. The lock on the cabin didn’t work which meant we had to leave it open when we left. Be aware that check in finishes at 6pm, call in advance if you need to check in later.

My partner and I stayed overnight for our anniversary and our stay was amazing! We loved everything about it, from the beautiful scenery, all the amenities (including a heated swimming pool which was very lovely), the staff were also so nice and welcoming. The owner was super friendly and very accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for better service. The breakfast was also very tasty, we left feeling refreshed. Would recommend this place for couples, families, and even a group of friends! It felt very private and peaceful.
There was nothing bad about the property.

Nice grounds with jacuzzi and small swimming pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Breakfast offering was okay with cooked and continental options available.
Pavilion rooms were more tired than they are in the images and in need of renovation. Power sockets were very temperamental and wifi was slow. Water pipes are very noisy particularly from adjacent rooms. Price was expensive for the quality room provided.
6.0 / 10.0
You couldn’t call the pool, a pool really, not big enough to swim in it. No rail to get into it.
Room was nice but couldn’t have the doors open because of the huge amount of flies everywhere, something must be attracting them such as plants. Very untidy outside of lodge old farm machinery scattered about. Dining room was alright but not overly good having to sit on one table with strangers. Breakfast was ok, I chose continental, but didn’t appreciate being questioned why I was not wanting a cooked breakfast.

Service was great. Housekeeping were fantastic.
Jucuzzi wasn't working. One of the reasons why we booked this place. No robes for pool.

Loved our weekend away here. Breakfast was absolutely lovely and they couldn't do enough for us. Bed was extremely comfortable and we would definitely re-book. Had a dip in the hot tub & a game of tennis too.
8.0 / 10.0
The hosts were very friendly. Attended to us well. The pool is on the smaller side but big enough for a family of 4. Couldn't pull the cover all the way back as it was full of water. Hot tub was great. Breakfast was very good.
The shower was a little dodgy... wouldn't stay warm and standing in the tub was a little difficult. The main water tap just dripped rather than coming out normal.
Bed linen had a few marks on but was super comfy.

The place is a wonderful old English Villa, with landscaped gardens and abundant charm. It is tranquil and characterful.
The propeiter Maggie is lovely as are the staff Dorota and Debbie.

Amazingly comfortable enormous beds!
Balcony was a great bonus, as was the spacious bathroom.

This place is a little Jem! The owners can not do enough for you.
We stayed in the Olive House which has 2 bedrooms, sofa, TV, bathroom. There was also use of the swimming pool & hot tub.
The breakfast was 10/10 really good quality.
Parking was just an added bonus.
Would Definitely stay again.

Just the gardens
Couldn’t use the facilities that I booked
Breakfast wasn’t rated how people was rating it.
Pancakes was cold crepes
Poached eggs, rock hard
My boyfriend asked to take his back
Which took 15 minutes to come back out he’d already finished his breakfast and the poached eggs was just a load of old slop

The building is grand and the rooms do not disappoint - ours was vast with a lovely bathroom with a rain shower and superb quality towels and bed linen. Lots of choice for breakfast, fresh fruit and staggered sittings so service is prompt and cheerful. Two nice pubs in walking distance - ate at the Old Oak which was lovely but busy so probably need to book, had drinks at the Bear which had a great selection of wines by the glass and laid on a mezze for us at a late hour without a booking, even though their kitchen was closed. There’s a faded glory to the aging 5 star decor and furnishings which matches the vibe. Yes they could paint or update a little, but with a host of original features, vast gardens and tiny terraces to bedrooms, but there’s bags of charm in the place and it would lose that and look more like a premier inn and less like a bed and breakfast if they went too far in that direction. Lots of space for parking. Great location if you have a car and are planning day trips up and down the coast.
The pool is a plunge pool and the pictures are deceptive - we had planned swims and pool time and ended up sight seeing instead.

Delightful company, really good service and incredibly polite!
5.0 / 10.0
Dorota and Debbie were welcoming and the bed was very comfortable.
There were tears on the bed linen and the suite although very large lacked order as the drinks facilities were cramped, cluttered and too close to the bed. The balcony floor and it's furniture were dirty and in need of a good sweep and wash down.
The atmosphere in the house was dismal with spooky paintings and decor reminiscent of the Addams Family. And it didn't help that the room next door was named Phantom.
The communal area carpets were dirty and in need of a good hoover and the silverware accessories in the dining room although impressive was in need of a thorough clean and polish. Same for the table with dirty finger marks underneath.
The quality of the breakfast was very poor, luke warm, over-cooked eggs, burnt sausages, dried up toast and with budget ingredients - certainly not as expected.
All in all not up to the published reviews in any sense and I will certainly not recommend.

We always love our time at Cedar House. It feels like a home away from home. The garden rooms are so beautiful and you have so much privacy and independence. And breakfast is always amazing!
