One week stay at DISCOVERY KARTIKA PLAZA

You have to clear your food bill almost everyday. Bit annoying 😑

Would not stay here again

The breakfast was great and generally the hotel was lovely. There were a number of places to eat but we ate out a number of times. Tennis court was very expensive and not worth it. Our room and the hotel was very clean.

Booking.com charged me double . There is hardly any info about the entertainment or activities which was a shame. Prices for food is so much more than you can get the same outside. Portions in steak house El Jardin were tiny. In Sokube restaurant Western dishes like duck confit, had tiny bit of a runny mash out of the packet. Smoked barbecue rib dish had 2 small pork ribs with hardly any meat on them. Strawberry daiquiri was served in small martini glass and it was only half full. Very disappointing portions. No salad or even garnish served with meals. Some waiters didn’t speak much English and brought out the wrong drinks. Disappointed with the nearby beach. It was so dirty, we didn’t dare go in the sea. Our bathroom was functional, but really could do with an upgrade. Location wise it is close to airport, but it takes quite a long time to go to any other places.

Discovery Kartika Plaza

Breakfast was amazing with a huge selection from pastries to Indian, Western and Indonesian. There were yogurts and cereals. The gardens and facilities are top notch as well as the entertainment in the evenings.

Amazing hotel at an amazing price

Slightly dated interior. Could do with a mirror in room near a socket for anyone wanted to style their hair. Beach is un-habitable but that’s not the hotels fault.

Choose a different hotel…it is not worth the money!

It has a nice pool area and is well located to Waterbom park

There is a lot of construction taking place just off the beach in front of the hotel…this was happening from midnight due to tides and was essentially barges dropping large boulders to build a sea wall. It was impossible to sleep, even with earplugs. We moved from the very expensive Villa only to be positioned close to the outdoor entertainment that played loud music until 11pm.

Heaven.

Everything! The staff are wonderful and so kind. The facility is gorgeous! All of the food and drinks have been delicious. The pool is amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable and had everything I could possibly need, and anything I asked for they would bring right away. I went to the spa and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Everything is so reasonably priced, I almost couldn’t believe it. I loved every minute, and will definitely be back!

The beach in front is under construction, but that’s not their fault.

Not great for vacations

There were live performances and promotions of traditional crafts taking place in various places on the hotel grounds, and there was plenty of space so it was easy to relax without worrying about other guests.

I don't understand why anyone would choose to stay here for vacation purposes. The front desk isn't very friendly, and the ocean in front isn't sandy, so can't swim. It's too far to walk around the area, and there's nothing particularly noteworthy. The roads are also very narrow, and even in the off-season, taxis are slower than walking. This place is probably better suited to flight attendants or people on business.

The Bali I remember

Staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. My room was upgraded to a junior suite which was lovely and the hotel grounds are beautiful. I had multiple treatments (2-4 hours) in the Spa and they were amazing. Meals were delicious. Breakfast has a large selection. The mediteranian night all you can eat was delicious. Pool very peaceful and usually had it to myself. As one of the original hotels in Kuta it is beautifully maintained and does not feel old, the grand entrance is very welcoming, the Christmas decorations were fantastic. It was the Bali I remembered, and loved. Have been coming every year for 20 odd years, and this is the first hotel I would book again.

The furniture in the sitting room of the Junior suite was comfortable, but a bit too big for the space. During my Spa treatment, at times you could hear construction next door. The pool is beautiful, opening up to the beach but there is little shade. The underside of the bridges in the pool need some maintenance, the undersides need a touch up. I would recommend getting rid of the water pipes underneath them and replace with some LED lighting strips. It would make swimming at night nicer. The bathroom had a raised shower/bath combo which some guests may find handy to get in and out of.

Relaxing atmosphere

Pool very clean, staff amazing asking us for drinks/snacks around the pool. Room lovely Breakfast. there was so much to choose from We were able to exchange Australian Dollars at the reception desk. Exchange rate was amazing

A Nice 22 hours

We missed a Day there because of a canceled flight. The Staff was so nice and gave us a Beautiful room. We were there less than 24 hours. However, it was very nice, the poolside food was very good and the Breakfast was excellent.

There was no Beach. But that was Mother Nature's Fault

It was ok.

The staff is friendly and the 3 on site restaurant makes it very convenient. The property has daily activities for guests which is very fun.

The room was not cleaned. Only the bed was made. We complained on day 2 and it was cleaned but same thing happened on day 4 and 5. Very disappointing. Glasses from the previous night were left on the bed stand uncleaned

Pool bar service was slow Prices with 21% tax a bit high Rooms very dated, would benefit from an upgrade in coming years. Night BBQ events very poor attendance, would recommend changing to a more simple BBQ with quality meats and seafoods on offer.

I had a memorable 7 extended days in Discovery days stay I will look forward to invite my children to Discovery hotel

The hotel has escalators and elevators since it’s hard for me to climb stairs. My room was easy access to the pool enjoying water aerobics I looked forward. Looked forward waking up early to delicious veggie omelette and their variety of food from different countries. Refills of variety of fresh fruits and juices, yogurts and blended fresh fruits. I love the boardwalk by the hotel and beach front, enjoyed walking Hotel has nightly musical entertainments.

Am so busy enjoying my stay in the pool and walking miles on boardwalk and beach and close to eateries and shopping. It was so good about my stay that I don’t have anything bad about the property.

They allow prostitutes in with patrons We were staying in room 3025 which had an a joining room which was occupied by another guest who was bringing prostitutes back and the problem was it wasn’t sound proof . The arguments over payment and sounds of sex was terrible I’m glad I didn’t have young children with me . Security is top notch so can’t understand how they miss this
