The rooms are lovely, a very generous size with good bathrooms, comfy mattress and pillows, tea/coffee facilities too. If you go to bed early just note that the outdoor patio is below the rooms, so can be a little noisy until closing time - but no problem if you're in the bar enjoying a good pint of beer. The food is very good, we had a Sunday roast but there's a wide choice of interesting sounding dishes. The great thing about this place is the staff, who are bright and friendly, and very hard-working.
We have stayed before so were disappointed to learn that the included breakfast is now a light continental breakfast, and that the cooked breakfast can only be had from 9am at the going rate for the pub - starting from £10 (or £15 for a large breakfast) plus your hot drink, adding quite a bit to the cost of a stay. Continental breakfast was DIY, with juice, cereal, toast, whole fruit (apple/banana), yoghurt, tea/coffee. I feel there could have been a bit more finesse, maybe with the juice in jugs instead of cartons, local/homemade jam instead of little plastic portions, local yoghurt instead of cheap supermarket varieties, cereal without sugar (all three options were sweetened such as Frosties). Just something to take into consideration depending on your needs.

Friendly staff. Great evening meal. Large, comfortable room and bed. Great night's sleep. Relaxing vibe. Beautiful, rural surroundings. Very peaceful stay.
Continental breakfast rather limited. Would have liked all the small boxed cereal to have been on offer. The ones I liked were not available and no muesli. Also, I would have liked a natural/Greek yoghurt option.

I booked a deluxe double room with extra large double and got standard double bed. The kitchen extractor came on at 7.30am and was right outside the window and very noisy. The shower cubicle is very rusty and dirty hardly deluxe. The tv is from the dark ages!! The blind was broken.
