Lovely stay, great value, would definitely return and recommend to others

The staff were so warm and welcoming, really friendly and patient with our two very young children. Breakfast was lovely and really good quality. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Ideal for a short break away

Garden view was lovely, comfortable spacious room. Decent bathroom with a good size bath to soak in. Friendly and welcoming staff who looked after us amiably. Good selection of beers and choice of food which was well presented and tasty.

It was modern and comfy. The evening meal food was lovely. The staff were friendly.

The shower/bathroom had a tiny shower screen. So went you showered the whole room got soaked. Struggle to go in without getting your feet wet. Also it was causing damage to the door through to the bedroom. Also lack of vegetarian breakfast for my wife. So she had poached eggs with 1 round of bread instead of a full English.

Just a great experience, When I left I thought what a great place this was. People are lucky to have

from the moment I arrived and was welcolmed to when I left in the morning the service was 1st Class. The room was great. Bed was so comfy struggled to wake up. The shower was big and temp perfect for me. Evening meal was really tasty and beer served with a smile. Really cozy atmostphere with log burner, a real old fashioned pub. In the morning had breakfast. two poached eggs on toast which were perfectly cooked. Even down to the salt & pepper grinders. Ground the salt & pepper evenly over my eggs. Tea pot poured great tea and did not spill everwhere like a lot of pots do. I could not find fault with the Pub which had been recommended to me. I stay in a lot of Pubs as love the vibe. I have to say that this ranks as exceptional and the best pub I have stayed in for many years. You will only be charmed and spoilt by the uncomplicated service within. Will defo be back.

Nice stay

Lovely cosy room, clean and contemporary. Beds were very comfortable. Young lad who checked us in was friendly. Bar area was cosy cosy and inviting - fire was lit. Dinner was nice, and the young waiting staff were lovely.

Breakfast the next morning - lady serving was polite but not particularly warm or friendly. Full English could not be adapted for vegetarians - all it takes is some veggie sausages and substitute the bacon for spinach or something similar.

Nice setting but misleading info on website

The place was beautifully clean

I booked this stay as a gift for friends and their children who visited over xmas. The website stated 2 bedrooms although this was not the case when arrived. It also stated free cot however I was charged an extra £10 for the cot with no bedding! No heating was on when they arrived and as it was late they were in a cold room for a while.

A very comfortable overnight stay with an excellent breakfast

Very comfortable bed, slept very well. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and plentiful. The dining area very cosy with the fire burning added to the very pleasant atmosphere

Whilst clean a perfectly acceptable the room, particularly the bathroom fittings would benefit from a deep clean and descale. A few items and surfaces in the bedroom also a deep clean.

The pub staff very helpful and attentive to all your needs. The food was well presented. Could do with more vegetarian options.

The room needs a refresh it’s tired, skirting boards need cleaning, the toilet needs a better clean. The wall as you walk in the front door needs repairing in the room we had. Large stain on the floor that hasn’t been removed.

My daughter found the sofa bed a little uncomfortable ( family room) and we struggled to keep the bathroom floor dry because the shower screen is small ( it’s a wet room) and the spray goes everywhere.

The room was really warm on a very cold weekend. The bed was large and confortable. The bathroom was excellent and also very warm.

The room was quite small with a large bed and a big cupboard taking up a lot of space. The breakfast was quite meagre and expensive. In fact the whole price was too much for the experience. The staff were neutral.

Country escape, pleasant scenery, amazing food

Everything was amazing, staff super friendly, pub was lovely and the food they had was delicious. Beer on tap nicely priced and the general atmosphere was relaxing. Good location and off the main road Room was nice and overall clean, bed was super comfy and the aircon was a welcome treat. Plenty of space for one person in my room and i also enjoyed having access to complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Overall great stay and perfect for 1 night or 2, would recommend. Not far from Norwich but would suggest using a car as its in the Norfolk countryside.

Some of the corners in the bathroom and under toilet seat still had some residual hair and grime from previous use, overall cleaniness across everywhere was immaculate however. One thing i will point out in my room was the bright green light on the ceiling, you don't notice it in the day but once it gets dark it stands out, i guess you can't do anything with it as its tied into the fire alarm system but it is super bright at night. I could see blemishes and paint chip marks where people have tried to cover it before. Finally the Wifi signal to the room was pretty bad, however a staff member did confirm they were having issues with this and a engineer was scheduled to come out.

Only one chair. No writing/desk space. Shower in bath is OK but very high bath edge - not good if a person has hip problems. No mat for the bottom of the bath when showering.

Lovely location, great original pub and modern, comfortable guest rooms behind it. Incredibly warm welcome and great service and a very good breakfast.

WiFi wasn’t working when we visited which was a slight issue as I had very poor mobile signal in the area. This I assume was temporary and likely fixed now.

All areas v clean and well presented. Exceptional roasts, very comfortable well equipped room. Bed was very comfortable. Peaceful beer garden with a very interesting tree. Breakfast freshly cooked very good. We’ll be back

I am a performer and often cannot check in by 10pm as shows finish then so a later arrival would have really helped as I had to drive to accommodation before heading back to work 40 mins away in order to be able to stay. A little flexibility would have really helped.

A good place to stay with easy access to roads to all parts of Norfolk and the Showground.

The family room was spacious and had air-conditioning, with easy access to a small patio with seating. Our daily breakfast and dinner on our first evening was excellent. The staff were all friendly and lovely. Car parking was easy and onsite. The pub and restaurant was great and very popular.

The bathroom was more of a wet room and we needed a few bathmats to keep water contained by the shower area. The towels and mats were kindly changed daily which was helpful. It would have been nice to have space for shower and shampoo products as they could only be put on the floor area of the shower. The green fire alarm light in the bedroom unfortunately was very bright although eye masks were provided!

A mix of quality food, a village setting, real ales and of course a warm welcome

I took my wife here for two nights, to celebrate her birthday and, from start to finish, the whole experience was faultless. Easy to find on Google Maps, we drove into the village to find the pub, which looked good from the outside - it continued to deliver when we entered. The staff greeted us and were happy to show us to our room for the next two nights. (Pics to follow) Food is served in both the bar and the restaurant (booking advised) and is absolutely exceptional. Don't expect 'cheap' as that is not on the menu - Quality comes at a cost. I couldn't find one negative, and, I did look! Will definitely be back 😃

Comfy stay!

Amazing room, very spacious with very comfy beds and a large bathroom. Slept really well as it was very peaceful, and the food was really good! Very happy with our stay!

The drainage in the shower just needs looking into as we nearly flooded the bathroom. Other than that, it was great.
