Perfect location close to the venue we were attending. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Had parking at the property. Room spacious clean and comfortable.

Very nice, but quite expensive

The building has great history with character, and it was in a great location for exploring Norwich and the Cathedral directly opposite

Disappointed when we arrived and the room had issues with a noise in the AC, plus the bathroom and toilet had water all over the floor

Overall - we loved the hotel - it was only the heating issue that was an issue

Lovely room, great breakfast and welcoming and efficient staff

The heating in the room was very loud, and we only realised that it was blowing hot air above the headboard just before we woke up, after an uncomfortable night. As it is a very unusual system, it would be a good idea to tell guests more explicitly where the controls are located and that it is warm air heating.

Perfect for the cathedral

It is a lovely picturesque old inn right next to the cathedral.The staff are all very pleasant. Our room had a great view of the cathedral and lovely comfortable beds and pillows. The breakfast on Saturday and the dinner were excellent.

Little things really: the colours in the room were really bland (last time I had a smaller but prettier room) and there was a bath with shower over while I prefer just a shower. This morning the service at breakfast was really slow and the porridge like concrete.

Reception staff friendly & welcoming.hotel beautifully dressed for Christmas.the hotel was so clean throughout.our twin room was in the new wing as requested as there was a party in the old wing (we still heard a bump in the night though ,the hotel being haunted we had an unexpected friendly visitor from the spirit world).The room was comfortable with all we needed. Location excellent being so close to the cathedral and city centre. Breakfast is mostly buffet and was plentiful and fresh. Checkout easy and we were able to leave the car in the car park until 1500hrs so we got to see more of the cathedral. The provision of water,hand wipes and sweets in Reception was lovely. Housekeeping were absolutely wonderful bringing something to the room instantly.Every member of staff was a delight,including the gentleman who drives the cars.

Possibly provision of slippers...actually I didn't ask so that might already be in place...for after a shower or during the night,if guests forgot their own.

Room 313 Needs tidying up !

Room was very hot , had to have windows open as air con doesn't go below 18. Room was dirty , dirty carpet with coffee stains etc . Broken tile in the middle of the bathroom floor that I caught my foot on - may want to get repaired . Toilet blocked a few occasions. . Was ok as a bed for the night as I was out .

The location the hotel and staff were lovely but the private function going on was not.

The staff were really very helpful, polite and accommodating. They were having a challenging night with a function that was going on during the evening along with a technical issue with the fire alarm.

Whilst we were notified there was a function going on during the evening of my stay the sound permeated throughout the whole building and the room I was staying in was vibrating with the music, the alternative rooms that were offered were much the same. Along with the issue with the fire alarm going off every few minutes I wasn't able to stay as it was unbearably loud in the room.

Location amazing hotel not what it was ..

Location is amazing for Norwich.

Staying in an upgraded room & having breakfast food & drinks & I was charged to park at the hotel. Receptionist stated this was always a charge but first in 30years I have been charged this. Feel the sparkle has gone out of the hotel & obvious cut backs. Asked for a drinks menu & was told there isn’t one so best go to the bar & look !! This was then followed by a waiter knocking over a bottle at our table.. who said “ that woke everyone up “ Breakfast was cold as witnessed one member of staff having to walk back & forth from kitchen through restaurant reception to the breakfast area to replenish the food. Such a shame as we have used the hotel many times in the past .

Not a lot except for the location

Room was too hot even though we turned the system down to 17. The cushions were so flat and poor quality they were virtually non existent. Disappointing in this day and age not to have complimentary water in the room. The decor in reception and bar area are so out of date and very tired looking.

Great spot for a historic getaway

The hotel is so historic and interesting to explore. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable both about the hotel and local area. Breakfast was great, the bar was lovely and cosy and we loved the complimentary trip in the classic Bentley too!

The hotel was cold, the WiFi didn’t work that well, we mentioned this to staff their response was it’s not working for me either! No info in the rooms as to what menu’s were available (breakfast or dinner). I would recommend the Cosy club for breakfast it was fabulous.
