Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable, lovely to have antique furniture in the room.
Parking at rear of property awkward to find, also could do with better warning for the amount of stairs in the building, ok for most, but for knee sufferers, was not great. Not just normal stairs, as the building is old with varying levels.

Great location and nice building. The breakfast was brilliant and the rooms were nice and quiet despite an event going on downstairs. But the best bit was the staff. They were all wonderful and couldn’t have done more to help
Some of the decor is a bit tired but I found it charming

The hotel is a lovely building in the heart of the city so very convenient. Having parking on site was an added bonus , friendly staff.
Room was big and spacious with enormous bathroom.
The room was incredibly noisy, some sort of pipe work in the walls were making some horrible sounds and walls seemed very thin so didn’t sleep well.
Breakfast food choices are great but service was very chaotic, a number of continental items had not been replenished , no-one came round and to get another coffee was painful!

Large room, good storage. Good shower. Tea making facilities and glasses for drinks.
The Full English breakfast was a bit on the cool side.

Perfect location and lovely room.
Check in took a long time even though I had already checked in on line A twenty minute wait was avoidable since other members of staff were available. Car park should be free to guests. Staff were a bit aloof.

Couldn’t get Wi-fi in my room however we could elsewhere in the hotel and the receptionist offered to move to another room if we wanted

The staff and the location. You couldn’t get that much more central to the city. The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge. The Breakfast was great and the staff very accommodating. There’s a lot of charm to this hotel 🥰
I personally don’t like vent controlled heating because as was the case here it didn’t work well. central heating through radiators can be controlled much better. Shower was either on or off unless there was some magic way of controlling hot cold, which I am told there was but there was absolutely no visible indicator

As we where in a mobility room it had a wet room I would rather have a proper shower cubicle

Great hotel - fabulous location and great rooms ! Food was excellent in the restaurant with great staff

Easy access to city centre for shopping, theatre, etc. This is a historic old building, which greatly adds to its charm, so you accept the occasional draught and quirky floor levels. The breakfast room and entrance lobby have recently been renovated, although this has pushed the reception into a side room which might seem odd but really isn't a problem. The food is good, as are the staff.

Brilliant location and beautifully grand historical communal areas. Great cooked breakfast and lovely staff serving it. Comfortable bed. Quiet and warm room.
The bathroom was quite “tired”: some cracked tiles and some black mould in the shower; unappealing stainless steel basin and clear top on the vanity unit which exposed some rough plywood / MDF structure beneath was ugly to look at. Quite a lot of scraped paint on the skirting boards and the “fashionable” dark grey paint on the walls in a fairly dark room was a bit oppressive. The blinds at the windows / French door were functional but some curtains to draw across them would have been more “homely”?

The food was generally very good, and the breakfast selection was extensive and portion sizes plentiful. All the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the maid who left a different towel sculpture for us every day which made us smile.
The opening paragraph in the guest folder in our room explained that the new owners of the hotel were taking steps to modenise the building. It seems that they have started with the public rooms which were well decorated and comfortable. Our bedroom was well equiped, but no guest safe, but needed docoration and the bathroom really needed and upgrade.

We had a lovely stay at the Saint Giles Hotel in Norwich. The staff were exceptionally friendly and kind, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was comfortable and well looked after. Both breakfast and our evening meal were excellent — great quality food and very good value for money. We would happily stay again and highly recommend it as it’s such a prime location for shopping.
WiFi weak at times

The main hotel and bar area were very nice although very chilly during our visit
We were given a disabled room which was clean and comfortable, but the rooms our friends had were better.

Been several times before mainly for location and since our last stay about a couple of years ago has had several improvements which have benefited the customers.... looking forward to seeing the fully finished article and will definitely rebook
We've stayed in the hotel and room 1 before and all was really nice but the toilet was a little slow on flushing and refill...also maybe for the price there could be a coffee machine and mini fridge to keep milk/water etc cold....we did only stay for 1 night but for a longer duration those would things would make it a bit more comfortable for the stay

Great sized room with very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Nice small bar area. Comprehensive breakfast menu with quality ingredients, well cooked. Friendly staff. The location is also lovely for visiting anywhere in central Norwich.
Nothing not to Like - it seems that the hotel is continuously being improved.

First the warm welcome from James could not have asked for a better host during our stay. We have not stayed at the hotel since pre co-vid and what a surprise everything was perfect easy parking, good location great reception, the room was exceptional and clean and the full English breakfast was the best breakfast I have eaten in any hotel in years. If you are staying in Norwich for one night or a few days make sure you consider St Giles House Hotel you will not be disappointed
Could do with brighter bedside lights

The facilities had everything you could need. Bathroom stunning and well stocked. Lovely towels. Bed was massive and the linen was lovely. We have stayed many times at The St Giles, and have always enjoyed our time there. On our most recent visit, we were pleasantly surprised with new improvements which have been made over the last few months. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy and clean. We had an excellent breakfast in a very nice dining room, with quality produce along with a varied menu. When visiting Norwich we would always stay at St Giles.

Heating (air-con) wasn’t working -cold air only. staff eventually provided fan heater to solve problem. Bathroom had foul smell and no ventilation - extract fan wasn’t working. Expected towel rail to be operating for our arrival but it wasn’t and had to be turned on.

Refurbishments since our last visit have much improved the property.
Great location with parking.
Responsive Manager with engaging staff.
Good breakfast provided.
It took us a couple of times going around to find the car park, perhaps review the instructions for first timers arriving by car.

The room was very nice, also spacious as was the bathroom, with a high level of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
Parking at the hotel is a bonus, with a wide choice of breakfast which was of a very good quality. We always enjoy our stay at the St Giles and appreciate the new improvements that are being made.
