Historic building well located in the centre of Norwich
As the name suggests this is mainly a venue which has bedrooms rather than a hotel with some incidental function rooms. Reception services etc are pitched accordingly.

Dining room - loved the decor. Excellent selection for breakfast.
Large room and super bed but no comfortable seating. Leather covered armchairs in a heatwave !

Central location and the public rooms are OK. The staff are the highlight as everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
It wasn’t clear on booking that this is not a hotel. It is rooms attached to an events venue so the venue is generally closed at night. There is no guest restaurant or bar or lounge in the evening, and it is self check-in with no reception desk open beyond 5.30pm. I was lucky there happened to be a wedding on the night I arrived so a staff member did kindly show me to my room but this isn’t guaranteed. My room in a side wing was also quite basic and not attractive, tired and in need of some decor. For the price I was expecting a proper, luxurious hotel with normal hotel facilities like 24 hour reception and a cosy bar for guests.
