Character. Staff friendliness n efficiency
The music from the kitchen woke us up 7 am
Sunday morning. Husband went to reception to complain. It was turned off n then lot long after went back on albeit lower it’s not necessary to have music on early when no guests in til 8am earliest and it’s not the restaurant music it was the kitchen staff stereo so totally unacceptable and u fair. We’ve stayed here many times and have bookings later in the year. Always our go to when. Visiting Norwich. Hoping noise was a one off and now aware can be heard in bedrooms they will be more considerate

We had the best stay once again, the staff were phenomenal and very attentive and chatty. The food was sublime. We can’t find one fault with our stay and will be back!

Always a warm welcome here.
There was a distinct lack of complimentary champagne in the room and it got dark too early.

Food was very good but the bedroom was very small and only one chair. Where does the second person sit? All very cramped and no proper wardrobe.
Food was very good but the drinks were very expensive

Breakfast is provided at additional cost for people that book with booking.com. I think for the cost of the room this should be included as other hotels do provide this. The location was very beautiful and peaceful with the pub positioned in a quiet location. The rooms were very tidy and clean with beautiful interior. I think a small fridge should be in the room for water and milk especially for families as the bottled water provided was very warm. Could not get onto free internet despite following the instructions provided, the password included within the instructions booklet did not work. The Staff were very warming, pleasant and helpful. If you require a taxi due to the location staff would help you with this. It is a very friendly and relaxing environment. I stayed there for work purposes only meaning my stay was short but very pleasant indeed will stay again.
i arrived on Monday evening. Just be aware there is no food or kitchen open on Mondays only meaning you would either have to eat out before getting to the hotel or ensure you have brought plenty of snacks with you. Again, this was not a problem for me as a single traveler. However, for families especially with children this could be an issue.
The rooms were very hot despite there being a fan in the room it did not provide the air to circulate around the room sufficiently.

Breakfast was very good, but expensive. I had the granola with berry compote which was beautiful.
The coffee maker was amazing, and the best thing in the room.
Storage in single bedroom was non existent: two clothes hangers and drawers big enough for socks but little else.
The bathroom mirror had lights around it but not on the mirror where they were needed.
I have numerous emails from Booking.com saying breakfast was included; the hotel also emailed to say it wasn't but I also had an email from them saying it was. The lady who checked me in said she was aware of the problem and was adamant it was NOT included.

Loved everything from the moment I made the booking. The staff provided me cab number to pre-book as the following morning could be busy. On arrival the staff were friendly professional and helpful. Answered all the million questions I had as I was travelling either family from London. I will recommend and revisit 💯

Lovely location and nice staff
Found the booking quite confusing - thought we’d booked bed and breakfast rate, but breakfast not included on booking.com price.
Overall place was nice, but very warm in the heat. Felt quite expensive especially since breakfast wasn’t included

The King's Head is an amazing hidden gem just outside Norwich. The staff are amazing and so helpful and friendly. The accommodation was a superb; spacious, comfy, beautiful apartment with space for our 4 bikes, which we travelled on.
The breakfast was 10 out of 10 and a delight. The location on the edge of a river is great. We will definitely come again. Thank you

The character of the room was beautiful and relaxed and different exactly what we wanted. The staff member I met was very polite and efficient. The area was beautiful and near many amenities. The bathroom was spotless clean and the bath was luxurious. I liked all the steps in the room as found it kooky but could see how this could be an issue for others. The bed was the best it was huge and so comfortable, the quilt and pillows such good quality wanted to bring bed home with us. Overall our stay was a relaxing retreat from our very stressful lives.
Firstly the room was not what I would call a suite and that’s what I was expecting, it was more a bedroom with a large entranceway. There were beams everywhere which gave lovely character but not dust free or spider web free and while we stayed there was a big spider which my husband took care of. The coffee machine was difficult to use and acted as the boiling water source for tea and just did not work for us. Two of the towels provided had some orange gunk on them luckily we had our own. The room gets very hot and could do with a fan and room did not have a fridge which would have been brilliant to have. Please don’t get us wrong though we had a lovely stay it was just little things really.

Good breakfast at extra cost. Location suited our needs for this visit. Ample car parking.
Heating system in room difficult to maintain moderate temperature. Did not like coffee machine would have preferred kettle in room. For price paid I would have liked at least a few biscuits.

I loved the location and the age of the building, very comfortable and the staff were friendly and very helpful during my stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and tidy. Travelling as a lone female, I felt safe here and loved every minute of my stay. The food was delicious and was worth every penny. I will definitely stay here again.
I had snotty poached eggs for breakfast, I advised the staff at the time and was offered another but I had to get off to work so I declined otherwise the food was delicious. The room although it was for one person, was very small and there was no where to store my luggage and clothes. There was a coat rack attached to the wall with 4 hooks and two coat hangers. There is a bed side table which, if it had drawers would give me room to put some of my clothes away rather than having to keep them in my suitcase squeezed down the side of the bed. Having some shelving to put my clothes away or some small drawers at either side of the bed would have been useful, the TV in the room was very small a larger TV would have been better with my dwindling eye sight.

Old pub that has been sensitively and beautifully restored and maintained. Everything worked and although it was on a road it was quiet at night. The restaurant and the bar were welcoming with great service. Walks around the village were pretty and accessible.
Douvets are too hot when the weather is warm. Lighter bedding would have been welcome.

We did not have breakfast, as I had a very early appointment for surgery. The location is so lovely and unspoilt. The staff were excellent. The food was tasty and presented well. The whole atmosphere had a really lovely vibe.
I cannot really say there was anything I did not like. Being an extremely old building, my husband found the height of the roof near the toilet a 'bit of a challange' but hey, they had to fit everything in the bathroom, and the roof was build before the indoor plumbing!

Staff were excellent, very friendly and made you feel welcome. Dinner was amazing
Only problem was we had a ground floor apartment and noise could be heard of the people walking around in the apartment above us. Also apartment was right by the road so traffic noise was also heard.

One of the best places to stay in England IMO. V friendly, helpful & professional staff. Rooms really nicely equipped, laid out & furnished - plenty of space & quirky too. The food is delicious and all locally produced, which is important. They have Baron Bigod cheese as part of an excellent cheese selection. Great setting too - Bawburgh is a beautiful village a stone's throw from John Innes Centre field station
They're threatening to drop the Baron Bigod in favour of another local soft cheese. By all means add the new one, but don't drop the Baron - one of the main reasons I make the journey!
